my information comes second-hand from one who attended the tms/sm last night.

i was not there and did not personally hear the letter read (and did not wish to press too insistently for details).

it's the Draconian use to which it's being put of late---coming so soon on the heels of high-profile df'gs and, more to the point, the August KM "study" article regarding treatment of df'd family members---, including the stepped-up "loyalty to Jehovah" angle tied to it that I believe indicate a significance that is easily overlooked by the casual or cursory observation.

Oh for sure amnesim(ex if misspelled), they are going to KICK BUTT. With the coming up "calling on inactive ones' they will probably be doing some df/da.They are going to do some house cleaning. U know they are not afraid of xjws- they can shun us all they want and the surpreme court upholds it. They work by house cleaning and that instills fear in the r/f. Things will get tight here in the org until they see how some of these child abuse cases come out. If they can win-however they do it-well they will be able to put a 'spin" on it that the rf will believe. Most jw's wil see it as a weeding out thing.A good thing.

for me,it took being personally viloated and treated below sub-human before i came out of my coma.

Being older than dirt(well not exactly late 40's), i remember well the 80's apostate witch hunt. But i tell -as a r/f jw at that time-i did not realize it's full signifinance. I just knew there were some evil dissenters saying awful things abuot WTS and we had to show our loyality. But none of us thought the org was going down.

So, the average jw knows very little about he silentlambs thing-except the are all a bunch of liars./and will meet there just reward.

Probably the WTS is doing some damge control -to tighten the noose and get rid of the problem people. it's been done before.they are not afraid of us--they have jehovah on their side. they know some of them may die-they have been told that-they know that satan will turn on God's people-just like touching jehovah's eyeball-they are not afraid.. Any gearing up they do-we'll not know about unless we have someone in a really high position spying..

the WTs releases vidos ever so often. Korah has always been popular-they use it to tighten the noose and frighten everyone. Most jw know that have been around for a while, it is one they use if sense problems. But it does not put them n a crisis mode.

Dr. phil is ok-but his answers are pop psychology and WAY too simple. People who have a lot of weight have a disease-not a lack of will power. they are some of the toughest people i know.

I have been normal weight most of my life. 5'5 125. Then there were life changes that slowed down my activity. then my thyroid went out(auto immune hashimots) severe depression,Fibromyligia, and then the real kicker chronic fatigue-i was in bed 3 months-could not get out-fatigue so severe-well u would have just had to have been there. Now i'm overweight.. I could not eat all day and maitain my weight. But i did lose weight last year-and i did it by eating MORE. i have been reading the Zone diet and losing weight has something to do with the insulin levels in your blood. Also, i got the blood type diet book. it makes sense. I think my problem is the food i am eating-ie junk food . I'm not overeating-just eating wrong stuff. And u do have to MOVE some-. I don't move much-so fatigued.

I don't like dr. Phil anymore. And he is sarting to look fat. And he does not like women. I have been watching him carefully-he really sort of dislikes women. he humilated that poor woman he had on the show about her weight. I wanted to SLAP him.

I don't enjoy being overweight and i am getting notheing out of it. I don't eat whole pies.

i've been hearing a big uproar in the media about schools banning harry potter books, and parents who refuse to let their kids read it, etc.

what's the big deal?!

when i was growing up, we had bewitched, i dream of jeannie, casper, etc.

Lin, if it is in this area, we are in the heart of the bible belt ,baptist rules just about everything here. Many areas around here are dry-thanks to the baptist. Also, the titles to the potter books had to be changed here in usa, the current one chamber of scerets, is called chamber of demons in the rest of the world. (per an interview i saw with him)

i love these books, since when are they worse than "lord of the rings" etc.

Fun With Email (but not if you're naive)

in the past few days i've received three emails from sources i don't know that had .bat and .exe files attached along with a picture.

for you who don't know, these files are executable; that means, they are programs that do things.

they are the stuff viruses are made of.. how to handle this: before you open an email, look to see if it has attachments.

apparently there are some kind of nasy things out there that can just be in the e-mail itself. My friend apparently sent me an e-mail. it had an off title, but b/c i knew the sender-i opened it. It was a paragraph that came form a book , but was not addressed to me. I called my friend and alerted him-he had a virus- and it had gotten ramdom names off his computer and sent them all an e-mail. My computer did not warn me-but some of the people it sent this file to did have alert messages. Toataly fowed up his machine b/c it had been there for a while before he knew it.

wow last post-great advice. Jess, conservertive is almost always the way to go unless u are intervireing for some arsty-fratsy type job-then then would problaby go to bold. Don't show clevage, don't get your dress too short, don't wear staletto heels(don't own them cand can't spell it) Don't wear flase lashes unless it is something u do all the time, don't ever wear glitter stuff on your face-looks really out of place in job. You don't have to look like a jw in drag, but texas is a very jconservative place. Baptist rules around her and lots of religous people in work place. If u show too much-they will just trash your application. Watch your language-even slang words until u are on the job and see how others talk. Other than that-be yoursel-LOL

Suicidal fear of rejection.

the fear of rejection has once again controlled my life and my actions in an unintentional act of self destruction brought on by how i was raised to view life.

i have come to the conclusion that i will probably be battling this psychological whirlpool of self sabotage for the rest of my life and i do not think i have the ability to completely eliminate it.

talking about it here is a start.

i am new to all of this, even tho i have not been going to the meetings for nearly 4 years now, through the basic hypocrisy that i faced and the witch hunt i have had to put up with over the last few years.

because i dare to expose the bent dealings of a car salesmen, who happened to be a p>o> i tried to ignore all of this and thought let them get on with it.

my wife continued going to the meetings, and was shunned the whole 4 years, despite both of us being very active members of the cong.

It is true about the supreme court thing, however, i have heard that u can sue the individual elders. The society will not back the elders up-if a few peope sue and win-it will spread like wildfire and well , they will be a lot more careful.

Chip on the Shoulder

i can say in all honesty that i am not a prejudiced person.

i deal with people of all colors, races, sexes, religous creeds and sexual preferences in the same manner at my job.

what bugs the crap out of me is whenever i see white people have a difference with a person who is black, the black person automatically thinks that its a racism issue.. today, i asked a gentleman for his insurance information for the finance company.
