Positive Islamic Thread

there has been a bit of stick about the negative comments about islam on this board, so i thought i would start a positive thread.. towards the end of the 90s, i lived for a year in an asian country with a population of over 100 million muslims.

all muslims i came across were honest, decent people.. a couple of years back, i went to work in iran for a couple of weeks.

as a result i had a couple days off at the weekend, which also happened to coincide with a public holiday.

how long ago was it that the most powerfull, "progressive" and "democratic "country in America allowed WOMEN and minorites to vote?

do you know women make less money (doing similar work) than men in most western countries?

Do you know there are about 4 millions USA citizens by birth that are not allowed to vote for the president of the usa?

Do you know that in the good olusa most of your earning is just to pay tax? (do the math) and then your tax money is used to go to the moon, vietnam and Iraq.

do you know Chad of Iran was the best friend the usa had around the area? (supporting his government style)

do you know the list can go on and on?

JW ignore you for good reason

this is not an introduction to sociology, just typing without much reflection.

do you think the wt would survive if they did not shun or ignore "apostates" (or anyone who does not follow the rules), be realistic, jw org is still an small group with survival instincts..

besides ignoring, is a very tipical human trick anyway, or do you think you could be accepted in any private club you want to?

Initially I presented more than one question and hoped to see more than one answer in each reply.

do you think the usa army or any, could function as desgined if they tolerated anyone who does not follow certain rules?

oh, if your jw family ignore you, who are you going to blame?

jw can make all the rules they want, all who follow the rules do it on voluntary basis. In most cases they wont take away your life, job or properties if you dont follow their rules.

German who killed jews were not without responsability just by saying they obeyed orders, even if not obeying could imply...

I ignore beggars many times as i think they should do better.

Even when people smile they may be ignoring in a polite way. Dont you ignore people?

how do they explain more people this year than lasts?

i thought the number was suppose to get lower as they died off?

Very easy computer glitch, or untrained attendants by mistake counted some who were having an snack with grape juice.,

Seriously, let me tell you there are always some nuts, old and newly converted. who actually "participate", sometime shy elders dont know what to do about it, it is between she/he and god.... In other cases elders ignore or confront the one siping the wine. There are few hilarious anecdotes about it.

i have always been told this was a story of adultery.

after my experience of exploitation in therapy, i began to look at it in another way.

non-the less, it was exploitation and not adultery.

I found the batseba story really upsetting, but you see, that is why jw think that if the GB did something really wrong they are still the "choosen", Rutherford another example.

David made a few BIG mistakes and still considered the ONE

One big mistake was to keep "statistics", counting how many Jews (publishers) therewere

God did not like it and killed 70 thousand (in germany and malawi?) because of the counting.

BUT david recognized the mistake, (we are not inspiied and new light is coming) instead of firing (ray franz) the messenger who pointed the mistake. Actually David did something about it, building an altar (patterson and more quick build kh). That's what the bible says anyway.

i guess knocking on 100,000 deaths is just a minor slip-up.

knowing the response of jw's to the horrible situation in asia and their reasoning of it, makes me feel indescribably sick in the stomach!

what you are going to said next, i mean if and earth quake kill, not 100 thounsand, but a million californians?

why the gov does not move all california cities to a southern state?

or is the econmy based on build destroy, rebuild/replace.?

natural xex urge does take care replacing humans.

As s young man accompanied by a very young '"brother'" i knocked a door, semiopen, behind a lady there was a human but identical to a "monster" similar to "satan" as shown in pictures... vampire dracula teeth and everything.

The "creature", showing her/his teeth made some sort of roaring noise..

ROFLAO the young brother started running like mad...

I experienced a chilling sentation and said; ok will be back someother time. and got the hell out there, terrifying.

Tsunami could have a negative backlash on sincere JWs

the horrific scenes from se asia we have seen on tv over the past week will have an effect one way or another on many jws.

yes, the hardliners will see this as a part of the prelude to armageddon; "famine and earthquakes in various places".

(mat 24) this sort mentally dismisses the unequalled loss of human life, reasoning that most of these would have died at armageddon anyway.

On the other hand they could use the tragedy to show that humans are not too good and deserve gods attention soon..

You see we come to your door trying to help you. The world does not care for you,

A big tragedy or extraordinary has to happen for other humans to show real concern for you in a practical sense. Helping entities (red cross?) have paid workers and keep a good chunck of donations for themselves (insert a real case to prove)

Other developed nations help to keep their influence in those territories, if people in the affected territory do not support a particular political system they get no help from that side..

Then read 2Tim. 3:16 etc etc, and Mat 24 to prove disaster were to be expected...

found this great article while researching on the 'net........thought i'd share it.........haven't read all of it yet, copied it out and will read at leisure............i'm interested in the concept of "demonic forces" on a psychological level rather than what we as jw's were taught from the bible.

The article by by Suzanne Duarte quoted Ghandi, but the quotation does not mean anything to me.

"Tyrants" and their opposers just take turns in power, they both "fall" eventually. The real balance in terms of results for the majority favor Tyrants.

I could only read the first few parragraphs as the article then went more esoterical.
