Why are the JWs so loyal to The Watchtower?
by VM44 inwhy are so many jws very loyal to the watchotwer?
they do anything that the watchtower tells them to do, and believe anything that the the watchtower tells them to believe.. if the watchtower tells the witnesses to jump, the witnesses will ask "how high?
" if the whatchotwer says a black sheet of paper is really white, the witnesses will convince themselves that the paper really is white.. what accounts for this loyalty?

What is your theory on the series "Lost?"
by free2beme ini am a big fan of this series and have a couple of theories of what i think is happening and wondered what others thought, just wanting some insight.. one theory.
i think the people got on the plane and never actually crashed.
i think they were gassed and taken to a government (possible alien) location and their minds were feed the reality they think they are experiencing.

The latest 'star' in that series, Michelle is her real name, was raised a jw, I know her.and her real brothers very well.
She also did "fast and the furioous" with Vin Diesel. I have never watched the series nor ANY tv program (don't tell her), so have no theory.

Their "BIG" news 'KNOCKING' documentary

ignore "knocking"?
the guy pre-announced the event giving a lot of questionable details... either he ignores other details about the WT or is plain decptive.
Giving him the benefit of the doubt, providing him with some hard facts wont hurt. He obviously is DETEMINED to produce the show.
It seem that the real purpose of informing him is not to stop the production of the shwo but for him to produce a more 'balanced' informative 'show'
If he ignores the hard facts in his tv production, then you know for sure who you are dealing with.
THEN any critics, after airing the "show", wil carry more weight and will provide 'evidence' as to where the credibility finger should be pointing to. As he 'knew or should have kown' the whole story..

Bethel lawyer admits to parliment that blood can be essential to save life
by jwfacts ini was going though the official committee hansard record on the australian govt website.
this committee was set up to examine australias efforts to promote and protect freedom of religion and belief from 15 october 1999. whilst it has been discussed that this is an example of the watchtower society getting involved in politics, i also found it interesting that the bethel lawyer made the admission that refusing blood can lead to lose of life, and the law should be framed to allow a child to be taken off its parents in these situations.
this is very convenient as it protects the child and also the conscience of the jw parent.. vin toole, representing the legal department of the australian branch of the watchtower society makes such an admission below.. senator schachti see.

But he is not saying the WT will tell JW to take blood in those life/death situations .

Who is this guy?
Is he the same person whose corporation stock went up about 5% in value today?
If you happen to know his phone number... I want to tell him that I can acomplish a good 'humanitarian' work with a mere fraction.
He seem to be the kind of nice guy atracted to the WT... some say he reads WT publications...being an IT professional by now he should be aware of the "whole story"

Is anyone trying to initiate/continue a semantic war over a topic title ?,
There is always room for improvenment, even when choosing a topic title.
There may be a legalistic point of view, not taking in consideration the impact/reaction of the "news", on jw and the general audicence.
Even from the legal point of view, there is a related issue or probabley 'legal doctrine', about,
"Letter of the Law", the "Spirit of the Law", "Intent of the Law".

JWs' use of Technology and Penton's "Jehovah's Witnesses in Canada"
by JW_Researcher in.
i've put in an interlibrary loan request for m. james penton's "jehovah's witnesses in canada: champions of freedom of speech and worship" which i can't seem to be able to purchase for less than around $200.. i guess it's a strict "supply and demand" reason for the cost.. i'm looking at jws use of technology, especially the radio.
i have the proclaimers and divine purpose books and a scholarly article or two but does anyone know of any studies conducted in this area?.

Radio is still today the most cost effective (cheapest) method to comunicate (preach?). 'they could even screen and answer question from the public. 'They' can take book orders/donations on the phone (credit card or cod) or send a saleswoman/collector..
But i doubt it will increase.sales/converts
Techonology to 'spread good news'?
