Hardest most awkward parts of being mentally out but physically in
by BU2B ini am still physically in but am completely out mentally.. i was curious for those who spent some time in the borg while being mentally out or are still in that position, what is the worst, hardest or most awkward parts... for me i intensly dislike attending the meetings however its bearable as i can just let my mind wander, but field service is awful.
i cannot try to bring someone in to a group that i am trying to plot a way out of.
so now i try my best to either spend the day driving around to others fruitless rv's (we have somewhat rural territory) or eating out at an extended breakfast or if door to door cannot be avoided, i try to work alone and not ring bells.

If that were the case (that people leave as soon as they realize it's BS) then the Borg would have collapsed ages ago. They have built a system that makes staying in the dominant strategy ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Strategic_dominance) and so each person has to decide what to do based on their situation...

i have been a lurker here the last few months and have been going through the process of researching both sides of the story of jehovahs witnesses.
i was raised in the borg, got married and now have a young child.. my wife is very much dedicated to the organization and will justify anything the "slave" does putting it off on the borgs imperfection.

I did it for a year and out of nessesity there are a lot of tips and tricks I used.
First and foremost, realize that as a man made organization it is completely ethical to out-and-out fabricate your time slip.
If you have to make an appearance with the group, find a partner that likes long breaks, that you can work with alone and ideally does not like service either.
Gas station/informal witnessing can be a great time killer as you aimlessly drive around.
(this is key)Get a list of homes you know are never there and do those as RV's, make no attempt to work them in an efficient manner.
Make up names of people at businesses you want to go to, go there and say "oh darn, my RV Molly isn't working today, but while we're here... Might as well pick up my dry cleaning".
Knock lightly.
Dumb down your presentation to "hello would you like the latest issues of the watchtower and awake?" they always say no.
Master the pioneer shuffle.

we have been down the path of this kind of thinking dawkins, harris and peter singer promote, it lead to the near irradication of the jews, gypsies, disabled, mentally ill and any other undesirables who were not contributing to the greater good of hitler's, stalin's, pol pot and mao's ideals.. .
can we address the issue at hand, how would you debate peter singer's statement that a "pig is more valuable than a disabled child, human"?

I agree with Peter Singer. He's a rather brilliant moral philosopher and it's a shame more people don't read and consider his work. As for Dawkins, when religios people believe ridiculous things for ignorant reasons, they should be mocked... At least after attempts at reasoning with them fail.
As for the pig comment, I would argue that pigs are worth more, pigs are delicious... :D

Yeah I told him to sit on his own and he had an iTouch to entertain himself with. Truthfully, I think going through this weekend will be the straw that broke the camels back. He has very little lingering desire to return to the Borg, but after seeing how everyone will treat him I think he will be done.
This will definatly be an aposta success story.
The only hot Df chick he will be looking for is the reason he is dF'ed too! Haha but her parents will have my widdle brudder on their radar.

All cool I like where your heads at. ;)
He is getting his things packed in secret and will be moving 1000 miles down here to live with me, but he needs to maintain for 2-3 more weeks. Hes living with my older brother who told him he has to go to the DC or find someplace to live. Little do they know that I already have a room ready. When they find out that he's moving in with his apostate brother they are going to have a collective shit fit.
They know I'll make sure he never goes back. My friends and I are going to get him laid and get him a job.
