My wt experiences have ever precluded me from any organized religion. I attended a local church as I was invited to and part way through the service I burst into tears.

The problem with movies this last decade or so
by LoveUniHateExams inactually, i think i've discovered two issues.. the first is that there are too many soft reboots, remakes and re-imaginings.
don't get me wrong, hollywood has always done remakes and some remakes work very well.
the fly (1986) and the thing (1982) are actually remakes/re-imaginings of the original 50s films.

Last night i began watching a sequel to Independance Day. If there was a plot i could not find it after just too many mega explosions I turned it off.
The Chinese girl with her luscious hair was nice but she too melded into the mess.

a sister in the congregation is planning to divorce her husband who is also a witness so she can marry a different brother in the same hall!

or must you be disfellowshipped or disassociated to officially say you really aren’t a witness?.

How I longed for songs (hymns) at a kh that one could sing as Harry Secombe did in Abide with me.
Even the joy of the human voice was stymied by the wt with their stupid songs which were written to deny the manner and tone of the average voice and written I believe so they did not sound like any hymn.
wt songs are an end piece of what is always a long winded spiel. The songs are never seen as a form of worship.

well, they would have to admit to themselves that they have been wrong.
If there is a gram of stubbornness in a person this is the hardest thing ever to do.
If they are self righteous then it is impossible.
If their life has been circled by meetings, getting ready for, attending, the convo after the very ritual of meetings and they have no other event in their lives like a creative hobby, music playing or listening, some sport, perhaps some further education courses and so on then they haven't a snow ball in hells chance of leaving.
Add to this as they have gotten older they will probably seen loved ones pass-away so the chance of ever seeing them again is welded into the wt influence and that alone.
Utterly tragic ..........

It was all GREEK to me
by Terry inaround 1976 i got the wild idea i'd like to learn greek (for my study of the christian greek scriptures and to 'get to the bottom' of whether i was wasting my time being even a token jehovah's witness.
) i would read the actual text and avoid my denomination's opinion commentaries, you see.. .
i learned the characters in the greek alphabet rather quickly and started reading an interlinear (english/greek) bible aloud - practicing my enunciation.
