Someone recently posted a link to a new JW website. One of the things it does is list about 6 religions that have similar beliefs thought by JWs to be exclusive to them. Included in this is a door-to-door preaching work.

This good news of the kingdom will be preached ...
by biometrics inso some of my jw friends can't answer a lot of the questions i put to them.
invariably they end up with the comback line of "this good news of the kingdom will be preached in all the inhabited earth for a witness to all the nations; and then the end will come.
" and state that jws are the only ones doing the preaching.. i suspect most jws who've left have come across this.

As I have never owned any translation of the Bible other than the NWT, I have never even considered the fact that the NWT is copyrighted. That is crazy! The King James Version is public domain.

To answer the question, "doesn't make it make you feel a bit differently about Zimmerman?" I would answer: Yes. However, I have never seen George Zimmerman as a murderer nor have I viewed Trayvon Martin as a victim. Not even the trial will let the public know everything that happened last night.
If George Zimmerman's story is completely accurate, I have no issue with what he did because he was within the law. If Zimmerman broke the law, then I hope he gets what he deserves. If Zimmerman's account is true, Trayvon got what was coming to him.

guilt tripping isn't working!
by thecrushed ini had a ms come into my work today to encourage me to come back to the meetings.
he asked me how i was doing and i smiled real big and told him i was doing wonderful!!!
he was completely confused because i think i was supposed to be feeling bad and guilty for not going out in service and feeling like the wrath of jehovah was upon me.

An older Witness couple who had just moved here from anothe state used to stop by and talk to my wife who is also a fader. One Saturday morning my wife was gone and they stopped by the house. We spoke for a few minutes.
They say that I was wearing my old police academy PT t-shirt and asked if I was I was a police officer. I responded "Yes."
"Well, then you must notice how the world is becoming worse and worse, every day."
"No. I have seen some horrible things, but, statistically speaking, violent crime has been on the decline over the years."
They were stunned. As nature abhors a vacuum they quickly filled the gap with, "Well, I'm sure it is getting worse in other countries."

2011 Yearbook= BEARDS are still for non-Witnesses ONLY!!!! Beard Fear?
by Witness 007 in1960's the watchtower pictures showed jesus clean shaven and with short hair {watch 1954 p.511 "why do watchtower books now show jesus with short hair and no beard?
....because he is shown that way in representations that are older than the traditional effeminate looking pictures..."}.
yearbook 2011 p.57 "a bearded man named eric showed up at a congregation in the united states {oh god a bearded man!!!

I read a recent article on beards. It was meant to be humorous, but contained some facts. According to the article, shaving facial hair started with Alexander the Great. His soldiers were prohibitted from having beards as an enemy could grab it. If you know much about hand-to-hand combat, if you control a person's head you can control their body.
Therefore, if a man shaves he must be learning war.
Ooops!

I suggest that you not take a hardline stance against your children studying with Witnesses. Rather, be open and supportive. Also, get them involved in wholesome activities that Jehovah's Witnesses oppose. Make sure they play sports, go to their friends birthday parties, go trick-or-treating at Halloween, and have a wonderful Christmas.
As your children get older they will not want to go to meetings, go out in a door-to-door ministry, of give up fun activities for a control group. By allowing your children to study or go to meetings because THEY want to it gives you a strong foundation to support your children and oppose your in-laws when your kids no longer want to do it.

Apostasy my ass!
by Glander inlet's call it what it is - disagreeing with the watchtower bible and tract society after baptism into the cult.
in no way is the literal definition of the word "apostasy" applicable to what the cult is using the word for.
it is a buzz word that scares the crap out of the rank and file and keeps them from communicating with those who have become enlightened about the cults lies.. we here on jwn have accepted the wt label, "apostates", with a sense of humor, such as calling our get togethers apostafests, etc.. but we are actually the "enlightened"..

So, by definition, any person who leaves a religion to join Jehovah's Witnesses is an apostate. Only born-ins and people who started off as athiests are not apostates.

I found some of the information on the website to be very informative. I was in for 30+ years and never knew some of the information presented. Look at the link dealing with teachings or doctrines Witnesses proclaim are exclusive to them. It shoots holes in the whole "Where would we go" defense.

The Tower of Babel - Languages: Isn't this story unhinged?
by james_woods inbesides the obvious fact that it is historically ridiculous - can anybody make any sense out of this story?.
god was somehow afraid that man was developing too much technology?
just because they were building a tower?.

Another fairytale, as told by Moses, in the book of Genesis. Humans have the power to destroy the planet, literally, and Jehovah was afraid because they built a multi-story structure from mud bricks.
