Working on myself - by that I mean trying to deal with the issues that were brought on by my suck-ass childhood at the hand's of my psychotic mother and abusive father (who of course was/is LOVED by all in the congregation). My goal is to get better so that my child/ren (soon to be a mother of 2!) can have a great life and a mother who is not conditional in her love and affection.

"Amish - Out of Order"...Have you watched this show???
by freshstart init comes on the national geographic channel and it's about young people who choose to leave the amish faith/way of life, the backlash from their families, and their adjustment to the "outside" world.
it's fascinating for me to watch.
some of the experiences are unique to amish, but so much of it is similar to what people feel when they decide they no longer want to be witnesses.

Their Amish family members think they are doomed, out of God's favor, and they are completely shunned. Oh man, if you can watch it, I highly recommend it. It's extremely interesting.

Science and the supernatural - thoughts and opinions wanted
by freshstart ini definitely support science, i think that the entire field is fascinating.
the things that have been discovered and that will be discovered in the future is mind-boggling.
i do wonder, however, if there is some things that science can't explain.

Thanks guys, I appreciate the input. I'm eager to find out the answers to a lot of my questions and I definitely look forward to what science will ultimately reveal. I've found myself lately wondering if there is a God at all. I mean, obviously I used to believe whole-heartedly, but now that I'm outside the city walls (so to speak), the idea of God seems more and more far-fetched to me.

I do wonder, however, if there is some things that science can't explain. I mean, I have had things happen in my life that really make me wonder about supernatural occurence. I made a post the other day about things that were supposedly demonized according to Witnesses, but I don't think that the things that happened to me had anything to do with demons. To me the idea that evil spirits have nothing better to do than mess with me because I bought a used candlestick is just dumb. But I wonder if there really are spirit entities (or something else we don't quite understand) that are also in existence and can sometimes make their presence known. Does that make any sense? I'm afraid I'm just rambling but hopefully you understand what I'm getting at. Anyway, I really want to know what other people think about that, and if you have had any such experiences yourself. You don't necessarily have to say what it was that happened to you if you don't want, but if you'd all like to share that would be cool too.

I'm just hoping it gets better soon because with my first pregnancy, I was sick the whole nine months. I remember while I was pushing I would tell the doctor in between pushes that I felt like I was going to vomit, and sure enough, I started throwing up. It actually helped me push harder, but there could have been a more pleasant way to do it. LOL. My husband told me afterwards that I was his hero for going through all that. I didn't really have a choice but it felt nice to be someone's hero. Lamallcool: I'll try that tea. I've never heard of it but if it helps I'm willing to do anything! I wish you guys could see the pictures from right after my son was born. I looked like hell but my husband was over the moon!
