Zeb. 2 years is being pretty generous. I believe it's more like 5-10 years. If they are not in the JW environment, their lack of a well rounded education and life experience makes it impossible to carry on a conversation with anyone from the general public. They seem like fish out of water.

Jw mummies boys
by purrpurr ini've had the misfortune to encounter quite a few mummies boys in the cult.
men aged 20-40 who although in men's bodies think, act and behave like children.
their mother's had them tied to the apron strings tightly.

Signing petitions in other countries or writing to other countries inquires.
by John Davis ini am seeing this petition and call for people to write to the iicsa so that they will investigate watchtower.
i think that this part is good if the person who signs the petition or writes the letter is a citizen or a resident of that country.
i have a problem when people who are citizens or residents of other countries do this when they write into an inquiry like the arc or sign petitions.

If given the chance, I will encourage any country to investigate WT. I hardly believe that the US government would ever take the WTS seriously and look into the organization. The only hope that we have in the US is to tax them into oblivion. The US federal government has "bigger fish to fry." This circus of the Trump administration should keep everyone occupied and distracted for quite awhile.

The org ruined my mother. Before she became a JW in my late teens, my mother was such a different person. She was outgoing, friendly, and helpful to our family and neighbors. She played on a co-ed softball team. She was on a bowling team. She and her friends took ceramics classes. We had picnics with people. We visited our extended family, aunts, uncles, cousins, neices, nephews. She regularly had neighbors and people over. After the WTS got their hands on her, she became someone I never knew. My mom became judgemental, cold, and aloof to anyone that was not a JW. She was unfriendly and disengaging. She stopped seeing her friends and coworkers. We stopped, cold turkey, visiting our family. We would only see family at a wedding or a wake. My mom buried her head in the JW literature and abandoned everything that she was. They turned her into a spiritual zombie that only associates with fellow believers. Those fellow believers are conditional friends who are there if you continue to tow the WTS line. Now, she looks down her nose at the worldly heathen and judges everyone by the JW standards. She elevates herself above all. They stole the mother that I knew.

Do You Ever Think Of ALL The Wasted Time Because You Were a JW?
by minimus inthe longer you are out the more you see how a cult steals all your time, resources and energy.
we wasted so much because we were witnesses!

Is the bottle half empty of half filled? Sure, I wasted alot of time being a JW. Whether it was meetings, field service, assemblies, that time is gone and I can't ever get it back. However, I have gained something very important. It makes you appreciate your freedom much more. When I see the "friends" in the door to door work on Saturday morning, I feel sorry for them as I enjoy my life unshackled from the org. Instead of attending the TMS or the CLAM or the service meeting or whatever it is called now, I'm enjoying the small family that I still have outside the org. My friends and PIMI family shun me, but now I have quality, unconditional friends and some family. I'm just glad that I'm out. :)

The WTS should have kept these "buffoons" in their ivory tower, rarely seen and rarely heard. In the 80's and early 90's, these men were like Oz, the man behind the curtain. They were held in awe and high esteem. Once they came out of the woodwork, many were disappointed in their speaking skills and intelligence. Their facial expressions, mannerisms, thoughts, and speech exhibit serious character flaws that don't make them any more special than the common JW. These leaders are suppose to inspire and lead by example. The fumble over doctrine and make excuses for "apostate lies." You could replace any of them in the monthly broadcast with a Jim Henson puppet and the rank and file would still fall in line. They will continue to read from the script and spoon feed the propaganda to the masses. Once younger ones come aboard the GB, the current leaders will be put in bethel hospice to serve the last part of their life in silence. The JWs will forget about them until an article appears that "so and so" finished his earthly course.

After years of service, I wonder if they will be dancing like that when they are kicked to the curb with with no savings, no job experience, no pension, or health insurance. Using em, abuse em, and toss them away. Go and be well fed my brother. Jah will remember your service, but the org doesn't.

Ever heard of a brother being DFD and just walking away from family support?
by Crazyguy injust wondering if there ever been a brother that got dfd and then was shunned by his wife and his at home kids and he's just said , if your going to treat me like this screw it and walked away from all his responsibilities as a provider etc?
it must be hard for those that are dfd to continue to support those that shun him?
again anyone hear of such a case?.

I separated from my JW wife and ultimately divorced her. During the separation, my one adult daughter (20-22 YO and a JW) would have nothing to do with me. She never answered texts or phone calls. Doing something together was never going to happen. My other minor child (not bapt) was required to spend time with me, but her heart was not in it. Once she became an adult, she stopped seeing me all together...."upholding jah's standards." She had turned against me. My ex got practically everything, materially, in the divorce and maintenence for the rest of her life so she can preach more! After my re-marriage, I only hear from them in a medical or financial crisis. Of course, I'm always there for them and hoping that they wake up, like me, one day.

What is behind your choice of forum user name?
by stuckinarut2 injust curious how we all think.. what prompted or influenced your choice of username for this forum?.
there are some really amazing names, and it would be great to hear the stories behind them.... mine was nothing fancy.
i just felt "stuck in a rut too" along with so many others.

Another day, another cart
by Anony Mous ini was standing at a red light and i noticed the little cart standing there.
they're barely noticeable and when i continued there was apparently someone on the other side of the street too.
the only problem, the location is a very busy intersection which has virtually no foot traffic and they're hard to see to begin with, as you can see from my vantage point i couldn't even read the cart and three people next to them on this side and two of them on the other side.. .

Here is another pair in the same local area that I drive by on a regular basis. They are so far away. It's like they don't want to be associated with literature cart.

I noticed an abandoned cart, looked around, and finally saw the 2 JW tenders on the bench. I believe this was about 8:30 AM. It's a good thing that I'm still not in. The boredom would have driven me to take my own life, right on the corner like the monk that set himself a blaze to protest the Vietnam War.
