I've heard JWs comment, "even if the new system doesn't come, this is the best way to live my life." LOL

Hard to be completely respectful and the JW attitude
by scratchme1010 inrecently at work they conducted an mbti test for me.
for those who don't know, the mbti test is a personality test used by organizational psychologists in companies and organizations.
it is supposed to describe the best way you communicate, the best way of giving and receiving feedback, and for managers that test is supposed to explain to them the best way to manage their employees (i'm over simplifying, i know).. my profile came up as some kind of introvert (and when i was told that i said "what?

Sanctimonious, "WE'RE Thankful EVERY day."
by stillin inthanksgiving is really just a nice, traditional, family-oriented day set aside on a national level.
no babylon the great.
give me a break with the holier than thou, "we don't celebrate thanksgiving.

"We give thanks everyday.. We don't let the world tell us when to give thanks." Yeah, right.

Wills - A disgruntled father making a final point
by Listener inan unusual and amusing will was contested in an australian court a few years ago.the deceased man separated from his wife in 1959 and shortly after the wife was baptized as a jw.
in the following years their four children also got baptized.
apparently this enraged the deceased for the remainder of his life, who was himself a catholic.his will included two conditions that his four children were required to fulfill before they would qualify to receive their share of the inheritance.

In my JW days, I knew of couples that amended their will to their children. In order for the sons and daughters to inherit their portion of the estate, they had to be in "good standing" with the org. Being DA, DFed, or irregular in field service was cause for not receiving their money. The congregation elders would be the authority in determining "good standing." I know some of the kids that just stayed in for the inheritance. Once mom and dad were gone, you never saw them again. -

RANT: Isn't Cognitive Dissonance Amazing?
by Sorry inthis is piggybacking off my previous post (about my 'personal study').
while i haven't been a long time member, i'm sure if you have my posts you'll know that i'm disenchanted with the wt and am just grunting and bearing until i have a stable enough support system to break away.
however, lately i'm just getting extremely angry at nearly everything that's going on.

From personal experience, I know that it's really tough. The loss of friends and family can be overwhelming. I'm not DFed or DAed, but divorced an abusive spouse. My parents have no contact with me. The friends, that I once had helped, have long since abandoned me. I have 2 wonderful kids that I had unfortunately raised in "the truth." Likewise, they never reach out to me. My calls and text messages go unanswered. They truly believe that they are doing what's right in god's eyes. I watch their life through Instagram. Blood is thicker that water, but the WTBTS is thicker than blood. It's a cult. As far as friends, people whose friendship is conditional on supporting an organization are not real friends. I use to get a chuckle of the term "friends" within the org. "It's nice being with the friends." They are only friends if you continue to tow the WTBTS cult line.

Translation:
1. We told you that we needed alot more (1000 in 5 years) Kingdumb Halls built, but we learned that is not accurate. Halls are under utilized so we are going to shutter and sell some. You may have to drive farther away to worship, but the proceeds will go to the org and not the local congregation that paid and maintained the hall.
2. Some new kingdumb halls will need to be built in select areas. The new model makes it easier for us to flip them for banking institutions, medical or dental offices, or retail locations.
3. We may not be building new halls, but remodeling and major renovations will be needed with free labor. This will increase their value when we sell them and bring the money back to the org.
4. We have 320 company men or "full time volunteer workers" working to maximize our profits throughout the branch.
5. The LDC relies on the volunteer spirit of rank and file for free labor to fatten our wallets.
6. If you have no skills in construction, we will gladly accept monetary contributions in lieu of your labor.
7. We will provide 750 people to teach a maintenance training program. This will cause the kingdumb halls to be in tip top shape for when we sell them out from underneath the members and shift the loot to Warwick. A building in a well maintained shape will fetch us more money. So, re-roof, and repaint those buildings, install new modern finishes with donated money and labor from the locals.
8. Maintenance rests on the local's shoulders. It's your hall so take care of it...until we want it back.
9. "Ask not what the WTBTS can do for me, ask what I can do for the WTBTS." Listen, we will tell you how you can be more involved.
10. Four ways to slave for us.
a. If your skills and secular work experience can help the org, consider your circumstances. Update your profile on line so we know further know how more we can abuse you.
b. Make yourself available to cook and clean for those that have skills that we can take advantage of. "Let the brothers decide how to use you." Let them live with you. (hopefully, you don't have kids and you get a pedo) Hair care? Really? Help them if field circus. You finally get a rest from swinging a hammer for the org and it's time to pound on doors.
c. If you can't build, cook, clean, cut hair, or go in field circus, give us money.
d. Pray for us because we need a miracle and all the help we can get.
Yes, I have enjoyed this brief glimpse into the U.S. Local Design and Construction Arrangement. It has strengthened my faith that this organization takes advantage of the willing spirit of honest-hearted people that are manipulated through the guise of organized religion.

The eldurs and misery servants were big into insurance. I knew of about 10-12 in our in about 4 congs that sold insurance, even whole life policies? For a system was going to end any minute? Go figure. Allstate, State Farm, Farmers, American Family, Liberty Mutual. They were all well represented by the brothers. Nice and easy to be self employed and hire some part time pioneers to push paper policies around the office with no benefits. They rarely worked a full day, but delegated the work to a few employees. More time for "field circus." They felt fortunate to work for a congregation heavy. All the JWs would get their insurance from them. I know of a couple that were DFed. It sunk their businesses because all the rank and file cancelled their policies. It was a huge windfall for the remaining. Time to hustle more clients from the windfall of a disfellowshipping. It reminded me of the scene when Jerry Maguire was trying to hustle some clients. Today, they are getting big into investments and "retirement planning". Take a few tests and you are a retirement planner. One idiot put my 70 year old father's money into a 10 year CD to make a couple of percent interest....like my dad will ever see this money before he dies.

The dubs would snatch these items up in a second if they were autographed by the GB. A nice conversation piece on the mantle or in the garage.

I don't think I will be able to escape the JWs ...
by nevaagain ini know i will get a lot of backslash on this forum for saying this, but as it looks like, i won't ever be able to escape the jws.
i have been a born in, third generation jw and awoken in one way or another (i joined this forum 15 years ago) for a very long time.
but i have adapted to the jw lifestyle to a point where it does not bother me anymore.

I find it hard to stomach the thought of using congregations and assemblies as a JW "meatmarket" at age 36. Sure, I did in my late teens but I was naive and dumb to the baggage associated with JW girls much less 30 something spinster women. I left, faded, and met a lovely "worldly" woman who is kind, thoughtful, hard working, secular, independent, educated, well balanced, critical thinking, and doesn't hang on ever word from the "eldurs and the WTBT$." Don't be intimidated by non-JW women. For good reason, the "Society" has jaded you into thinking that they are sexual disease laden, loose whores that will destroy you as a person.

What is your story?

what caused you to have doubts?.

Not born in. Baptized in 1989. Married in 90 (guess why I got baptized). 2 born in kids that shun me without being DA or Dfed. Marriage separation when I started fading in 13. Divorced in 16. Two parents that started shunning me several months ago.
