I don't believe this type of treatment is what Paul had in mind. In the book, In Search of Christian Freedom, Brother Franz analyzed this topic from all angles, and what the Society practices is simply not Christianity by any measure.

In regard to the Witnesses, it does probably vary, place to place, individual to individual. It probably matters why one is going back. If we are here, we don't believe it's the truth. And while the association with family and a few friends has something to do with it, I believe some of us want to help awaken them. Or make the attempt, because we well know what we are up against.

Just like the people in Jonestown or Waco, Witnesses are victims of BITE mind control. Some days, I forget that, and I am quite angry. But then, I remember, "That's right, it's a cult! This is what cults do."

to define this further, i am thinking of men or women who studied more than watchtower literature, spent time in libraries to dig deeper than most shallow minded drones.. how can someone be a baptized jw for forty five years and be stupid regarding "the trintiy, hell fire, first century culture, church father's teachings, rapture, heaven, reasons for defending the reliability of bible texts."?

could the watering down, diluted teachings be the problem with "new-gen's" impotent bible understanding or lack of understanding?.

I've been going through the Interlinear, comparing the transliteration to the NWT, noting any major differences, and then doing a version compare on those verses with the Bible app on my phone. I just finished the book of Mark.

I am curious as to why the Society produced it. Unless, they were counting on Witnesses just putting it on their shelf, which is what many do. Purple/blue is a nice color. But even though I am finding there is no perfect translation, an examination of the Interlinear does reveal that the NWT is not what it claims to be.

Really, I think this whole topic goes against the Forum Guidelines:

Insulting, threatening or provoking language
Inciting hatred on the basis of race, religion, gender, nationality or sexuality or other personal characteristic.
Swearing, using hate-speech or making obscene or vulgar comments.

I don't think Bubblegum Apotheosis understands introverts in the least. There is a place for people like that. It's called the Governing Body.

Yes...I was in field service one time with this older sister, perhaps in her fifties. She was raised a Witness. She had never read the Bible through. I was shocked. People are too busy reading the stream of magazines and books to really sit down and read the Bible...despite the admonishment to do so.

However, disliking social situations, does not mean disliking people. I am both shy and an introvert. I love people...but I've been hurt many times over, and I prefer groups no larger than four.
