i missed one day of the 2001 district convention.
i heard from someone seated nearby that, beginning in 2003, the theocratic ministry school will be newly formatted.
does anyone here know what that new format will be?
We always referred to it as the 'Misery School'!
I was always counseled on 'Sense Stress'. I guess that was because most of the talks caused me a lot of 'stress' and didn't make any 'sense'!
There were so many 'W's on my counsel slip it looked like a mountain range.
I really don't think they should change the format after almost 60 years of proven success. How do you think all us 'apostates' became so well trained!

Anything over 40 hours is time and a half. So, if you have 41 hours in, count 41 and 1/2! Over a years time this will help greatly.

No need to be critical of the Society, because the 'end', just as they said, did come in 1975! The only thing is, it just wasn't near as bad as we thought it was going to be!

In my files somewhere I have a copy of an obituary for Leo Greenlees as it appeared in a local paper where he died. I will try and find it and post it word for word.
I do remember it specifically saying.....he was loved by all those he touched!.....

when i first started studying in 84 at the ripe ol age of 29, i was told oft and repeatedly that jws did everything in moderation, and nothing sinful or unbiblical.
apparently, like everything else, they have added footnotes to the scriptures that say not to get drunk, as that seems to be their only "legitimate" (read, unregulated) escape from the reality that is the witchtrowel babble and trash sectciety.. there was one elder in my first congregation that reeked of alcohol even first thing in the morning at field service.
i was told by someone "born in the truth" that he had a "body chemistry problem, whereby when he would sweat it would smell like alcohol, and he did sweat profusely...hence the reddenned face.
One thing I know for sure.....'I'd rather have a bottle in front of me,than a frontal lobotomy!'

hypocritical acts you witnessed being performed by those claiming to be of the anointed are most especially welcome to be posted.. the person who posts the most hypocritical act will receive the complete box set of the bethel family sing the kingdom melodies vols 1 - 10 complete as first prize.. the runner up will receive two box sets.. i'll start off.. the most hypocritical thing i ever witnessed was the (married) co who ran off with the (single) special pioneer immediately after giving a talk at the district convention on "jehovahs gift of marriage".. sister special had the suitcases packed and the motor running out in the parking lot (located directly behind the platform) as co spiritual giant wrapped up his talk.
he finishes the talk then leaves the platform for the getaway car to a tumultuos round of applause from the massive crowd.. both last sighted somewhere slightly up ahead of a fading into the distance cloud of dust.. goo
The most hypocritical thing was when I would drop the car group off to work a couple of blocks, and then tell them I would be a couple of blocks over and would get them when I was done.
Then I went to the restaurant for breakfast, and usually stopped at a couple of car lots to look things over and finally returned to pick up the group to move on to a couple of more blocks.
Then it was 'coffee time' where I also downed a few doughnuts!

its amazing the extent these circulate in the wt world.
i am not so sure, but it develops a powerful folklore amongst jws....often with a moral at the end!
typically these circulate as experiences given in talks and are then adopted by the masses as truth.. for example, anyone hear the ul about the married couple where the wife had to have a routine blood check.
How about the brothers and sisters who missed the meeting in (Russia, Germany, Italy, you fill in the country) that did not know where to attend the next meeting because of missing the previous meeting where the location (in secret) was revealed?
If true, this could have been a 'blessing in disguise'!

most normal people i know, and am around look forward to the weekend and nice weather.
even though i have not been a publisher for many years now, i still assoicate week-ends with taking the group out in service and baby sitting a lot of the kids from the hall.
what a pleasure monday mornings were when i could go back to work!.

Also, nothing was greater than a stormy blizzard in the winter or a thunderstorm in the summer on a Saturday morning. Then I could not participate in regular door to door ministry. Sat in the coffee shop extra long! (ate doughnuts)
Am I wierd, or do others of you out there still feel the same today even if you have not been a JW for years? This must be programmed into my brain even though others think you're a little 'nuts'! I like to think I'm not the only one!
