today i rented a rug doctor carpet shampooer.
when my son was living at home and was a recent high school graduate he pioneered and worked part time for rug doctor.
most everybody that worked for them here were witnesses.
Rug Doctor was connected with the City Overseer of Grand Rapids, Michigan many years back, and it makes you wonder if it was JW owned or owned by a JW. Melaluca is another company I wonder about.
Of course Dan Hall no longer owns Trimline and is also no longer a JW. As a matter of fact he has a very active anti-JW ministry in California. God bless him!

Although I do not have answers to all my questions, and a lot of my prayers are not answered yet, my faith in Jesus remains strong and I believe the Bible speaks to everyone of us as God reveals things through his Holy Spirit.
Matthew 11 indicates that Holy Spirit is involved in the diciples asking the Lord to....'teach us to pray'! So, prayer for the Spirit will help in God hearing and answering prayer. A lot of my prayers have been answered, and that is why I have faith and believe.

spring, 1991 to december, 1991. we had already moved into the two-bedroom bungalow, i was working at a convalescent hospital (very carefully because of my back condition).... and we had changed to lake hodges congregation, a very nice congregation overall.
in march, i re-injured my back on the job by helping another nurse aide to transfer a very heavy male patient to his wheelchair.
then began a steady round of doctor?s office visits to both an orthopedic doc and a neurosurgeon.....and i was sent to physical therapy.
One thing I've always believed in is this......You can argue doctrines and intrepretations all day long for centuries.
But how can anyone (JW or otherwise) deny a 'personal experience' or 'testimony' that you give?

theres quite a lot to choose from at amazon i was wondering if any one would mind telling me which books you would recommend.
The Hour Of Darkness by Derek Barefoot is an eye opener. Visions Of Glory, if you can find one., The Gentile Times Reconsidered is good if you like a little deeper reading.

if the society decided to not shun persons who were weak, who disagreed or who simply didn't go to meetings and field service, would you still be a jw?
the catholics have all sorts of rules and regulations that should be obeyed yet if one doesn't abide by the law, they are generally never excommunicated.
if the witnesses decided to "just be there" for the "brotherhood", i'll bet that many would not be on this site.
I wouldn't go back for $50 Million Dollars!

ever read the wt and awake articles and get tired of seeing words and prases like "the society's counsel on..."
A brother once told me that to help pass time at the assemblies he counted all the Society's cliche's in the various talks.
'Thinking Christians' was one of those as if some JW's lacked this quality! And of course the old standard....'Can you do more?'
Actually, there are hundreds of them if you thought about them much. I never thought too much of the Organization that took years to figure out what to call a 'back call', or is it 'return visit', contact point, rendezvous and who knows what else.

this year at the dc, we were expressly told to wear our badges at all times, even when going to a restaurant or some place else, so we could "give a witness.".
did any of you hear follow through with this arrangement?
did you have one of those "fantastic" experiences, when someone commented on your badge?.
Nope, took it off right away, didn't want to bring reproach on the organization having a good time at the restaurant!

i noticed that when i go online i'll hit a couple of news websites, maybe check my email, but eventually i always seem to find my way to some sort of jw related site.
yeah, i know, that's not a question...hold on, i'm getting to it.... is there a time when an ex-jw should become an ex-ex-jw?
While I'm totally 'deprogramed' myself, I hang around sites like this, as I want to help and support others who need and ask for help as many did for me when I was coming out.
I don't spend much time trying to talk JW's out of the Organization, but I do want to support those are new and have questions.

has there been any change in who owns the kingdom halls?.
last i knew it was the watchtower who owned them all, but the pubs had to pay the rent and mortgage.
are any or all of the halls in the names of local elders?
Now, let me see if I got this straight....
1. The congregations donate their labor to build the hall!
2. They borrow the money from the Society which they actually contributed!
3. The Society charges them interest on the money!
4. When the loan is paid off, The Society owns the building?
And they're worried about the crooked TV Evangelists?

offering "internal statistics" about the organization?.
you might wonder why this seems so important to them.. i think i may be able to offer a reason for their sudden concern - money!.
