last spring norweigian state refused to give public contribution to jws (religious organisations can apply that in norway and previously wtbs has been granted that).
the decision was caused because of practise of disfellowshpiping.. now there is a new twist.. 25.10.2022 authorites in norway send a letter to wtbs and told them that they have four weeks to fix that practise.
if they don't do that they will loose their status as a religiouse organisation.. intrestingly jws did not "understand" what authorites meant by that and requested more time.. how can they not understand?

Intrestingly JWs did not "understand" what authorites meant by that and requested more time.
How can they not understand? The monentary contribution was denied crystal clearly because of shunning policy...
In their letter to authorities they refer - rather ironically - to ECHR (The European Convention on Human Rights). Well, they themselves do not give their own members any rights what so ever what it comes to religiouse freedom.
JWs are also puzzled about the fact that some action now is taken considering that they have had their status for decades...well shunning people might not be the greatest of reasons to bragg to...
Here is a link to Norweigian newspaper that wrote about the case (google translator works pretty well):
Here is another link to another activist "johanneksenpoika" aka "son of John" in Finland (neighbourgh country) who also comments the case. Societys letter (in English alsol) can be found from his site:
PLEASE READ THIS AS WELL: about this Finnish activst (bitoff topic)
My understanding is that he is the person who approached the local data ombudsman in Finland at 2012 what it comes to "field service notes". What happened is that "the case" went throug all legal levels in Finland and finally end up at EU court. EU court was not favorable for witness.
So grass root can - and wil - pay off.

are there songs that seem to speak to you?
maybe especially when leaving the church and losing friends and family.
i still pause when i hear hennly's heart of the matter.
Well, I have many "power songs" but this one seems to talk to me.
Leonard Cohen, The Future and the lyrics go "when they said repent, repent I wonder what they meant" and "I've seen the future - it is murder.
Albeit Harmageddon is more of a genocide.
we talk to kevin penkava.

Does anyone have any link that takes up the sentence?

attorneys for the governing body have responded to the complaint in the above matter by filing a motion to dismiss the complaint.
the underlying argument its that the governing body is not a legal entity and thus cannot sue or be sued.. the zalkin firm will file an opposition to the motion and perhaps and amended complaint.. what remains a curiosity is why watchtower new york has apparently not been served.. you can read the motion here..
Would anyone be able to provide the index number of this case?
here's an excerpt from the recent lawsuit deborah hines v. watchtower bible and tract society of new york et al (paragraphs 158-180), one of 29 known cases brought against the org pursuant to the ny child victims act.
what should be kept in mind is that gerrit lösch apparently worked in europe (the austrian branch and eastern europe) at the time when the abuse was allegedly reported to him (not a gb member then).. plaintiff was raised a member of the jehovah’s witnesses.
she primarily attended meetings at various congregations in arizona.
Yes I agree. This case sounds like something from a bad movie.
However the plaintiff is represented by Zalkin law firm.
I have difficulties to believe that they would take a case if it would be complete rubbish.
But it will be interesting to follow. I understand more profound D Splaine´s talk as well.
I mean "brothers of Governing Body" connected to something like this!!!!
Maybe truth really is stranger than fiction.
police in finland has been investigating fundraising of jehovah's witnesses "for years" according to state prosecutor mika appelsin.
before year 2016 society's bank account appeared on jw's magazines and homepage.
it is legal to collect money in religious events - it is view as an offertory by law even when using contribution boxes.

Before year 2016 society's bank account appeared on JW's magazines and homepage. It is legal to collect money in religious events - it is view as an offertory by law even when using contribution boxes. However collecting money by other means requires a license. Surprisingly JWs did not have one. According to Mr Appelsin the case is "not so simple" and "we are talking about millions (euros)". There is no mentioning what it comes to distributing bank account number via Whatsapp or by other means which have been rumoured to have taken place during pandemic.
It is still not clear if JWs will be prosecuted. If they will it will concern around ten individuals at the top of Finnish branch.
Here are the links to newspapers. Google translate works quite ok.

A criminal case has been opened in Moscow over the resumed activities of a Jehovah’s Witnesses admin center. Although Russia’s Supreme Court outlawed the extremist organization back in 2017, the center has been active since June 2019. Apart from Moscow, searches were carried out in more than 20 other regions throughout the country, Izvestia writes.
Work to ferret out the banned cells of Jehovah’s Witnesses has been going on for several years. Cult researcher Alexander Korelov points out that the number of Jehovah’s Witnesses followers has significantly declined. There used to be about 150,000 adherents nationwide but many people have walked out on the sect and some have left the country.
According to the expert, people are stressed because of the coronavirus pandemic so Jehovah’s Witnesses and other sects have ramped up their activities. "They understand that it’s easier to deceive those who are psychologically unstable and pull them into the organization’s activities," Korelov explained. "They deliberately search for single people and try to recruit them in order to get their hands on their real estate assets later," he added.
Jehovah’s Witnesses use Zoom, messaging services and social networking websites to maintain contact with followers and those who are willing to support their ideas but they mostly recruit new members when they meet people in person.
"Basically, human life has no value for Jehovah’s Witnesses and it is a very dangerous thing. It can work at some point and the seemingly peaceful organization may turn into a terrorist one," Korelov emphasized.
