  it has been an experience to say the least.

  i accepted eagerly the teachings of the watchower bible and tract society over the last 7 years.

  i have been a dedicated pioneer for four of those years.

  Congratulations SC, on making a very brave decision. I have also been thinking deeply about this decision lately, and have pretty much decided that leaving is my best option. There are so many inconsistencies in the "spiritual food" provided by the FDS and I cannot make myself believe that this is God's organisation any more.

  I am pleased that your wife and children will be there for you. This is a very lonely decision without the support of someone in your life. Take the good from your past 7 yrs and use it to make positive changes in your life. Be happy and enjoy your life, and be the best person you can be for those in your life. That's what I plan to do.

  Good luck SC! You are a good person and deserve the best that life can give.

  I wonder if this blood change is not so much to "look good to the world" as to be in a safer legal position to protect their accumulated monies.

  I was horrified when I read of the tax bill that had to be paid in France. I always believed we were a non-profit organization. How could a non-profit org manage to have a 50million dollar tax bill. Hmmm? That, in itself, almost had me stumbling out of the KH doors.

  Pleasantville

  on h20, someone commented on this movie as an insight on how we, as jw's look at the world and the problems of trying to change that looking.. i had seen the movie last year - i thought it was going to be a comedy - it wasn't.

  but i didn't tie anything to it.

  naturally, i didn't apply it to myself.. but this guy is right - i'm going to watch it again.

  I saw this movie just a couple of months ago.I thought that the town of Pleasantville was like what JWs want the world to become. Black and white rules, everybody nicey nicey, nobody living outside the box... everything perfect. It sorta made the whole new system idea sound a little scary to me.

  I'm a 35yr old female, married to an unbeliever... but he's a wonderful man. No kids, no pets. No family left in the truth. My mother became inactive quite a few years ago.

  fractions of all "primary" components are now allowed?.

  is this saying that everything is allowed except when they're combined together?

  I really wonder WHY the changes.

  Is it really a matter of the light getting brighter,

  or is it just that the legal system is getting stronger and goes after any issue that causes people to lose their lives?

  Can you imagine the law suit against the society if Armageddon doesn't arrive as they promise?

  i find myself lacking in zeal in the door-to-door work.

  i have this hidden feeling that these worldly people are better off to face jah's judgement at armageddon with their ignorance intact, rather than to bring them into our fold to struggle daily for worthiness and perhaps be set up for failure.

  does anyone else ever think this way?

  On the edge? More like standing in the doorway with one foot in and one foot out. I guess I'm still deciding which way to go. Back into the windowless artificial light, or out into the sunshine...So far, praying hasn't helped.

  It is a very proud feeling to have brought someone into the congregation, it gives you an improved social status, but as time goes on and you see the daily struggle they are going through, the problems they are facing with their families, the difficulties they have with trying to help their children understand why they can't do certain things anymore..... well, I begin to wonder if it was such a good thing.

  You described it very well. I guess it boils down to that feeling of being a hypocrit. How can I be preaching the wonders of the truth, when I know longer feel the wonder of it?

  I guess it's time for me to start making some hard decisions in my life.

  for years i denied myself the thing i loved to do the most to be a good jw.

  i love to ride off-road motorcycles.

  so, i am going to indulge myself and get a new dirt bike.. i love to see god's creation from the vantage point of a motorcycle on a mountain top.

  This is soooo sad for our bro's and sis' who have lost loved ones due to their stand against blood. They must feel quite cheated by the Society's changes to this issue.

  How do you explain to someone who has lost their child like this, that "oops" we had it wrong.
