Do the Jehovah's Witnesses really serve God? If God hates money, do the Jehovah's Witnesses hate it as well? According to some of these articles, it seems they are having a great time collecting it all from their property sales.

Matthew 6:24 proclaims, "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

In the "Book of Enoch", the archangels are also known as "The Watchers". What is the ancient aramaic word for archangels in the "Book of Enoch"? is it correctly interpreted to mean archangels or "The Watchers"? Does the ancient text refer to them as archangels? Are they high ranking officials ("Chief princes") like Michael the Archangel? The reason why I ask is that I plan on posting an interesting question regarding this subject matter on Yahoo answers. I know for sure that a Jehovah's Witness will question the ancient aramaic word for archangel and blow it off as meaning something else. Thank you. I would look it up in the Strong's Lexicon but of course the words from "The Book of Enoch" has been excluded from that lexicon. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If solid proof were suddenly found that the Book of Enoch should be included in the standard Bible, would that pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses in regards to Michael the Archangel as Jesus?

if the book of enoch (elaborates and gives mention to 6 more archangels) suddenly became part of the bible due to solid evidence, how would this effect the shakey jw doctrine of michael the archangel as being jesus?

there are six other archangels mentioned in this book; could it be possible, if included in the jw bible, that one of the other archangels could be jesus?

would they excuse it somehow and simply stick with their implicit understanding of jesus=michael?.

It's really easy to say that the Bible is fiction and it should be thrown out with all the other ancient texts. If that's the case, then we should discontinue our studies, turn on network TV, watch some sitcoms and maybe a ball game, and drink ourselves to sleep ... go to work ... repeat. But if we want to make some progress in understanding religious belief systems, how they came about, how they are maintained, and the basis of their perpetuation, then we have to start measuring the relative value of religious literature, even if we don't believe that any of it is based in reality.

It makes we wonder why "The Book of Enoch" was not included in the Bible. Yes there are contradictions BUT some passages mentioned in Jude are from the Book of Enoch! Once again, this would pose a problem (re:the archangels) for the Jehovah's Witnesses if the book were included in the NWT.

The Book of Enoch, if someday included in their NWT, would definitly pose a problem for the Jehovah's Witnesses since it does discuss seven Archangels- Michael, Raphael, Gabriel, Raguel, Uriel, Saraqael, and Remiel.

Here is the Michael formula "one of the chief princes." + not the only Archangel=not necessarily the messiah.
