Please accept my sympathy for the loss of your brother. 61 yrs is not a long time. And really the time we spend with the people we love is never ever enough.

SS, I like your thinking and your post. Recently I watched a show about a SUPER black hole. The theory is that the magnetic energy which pulls the near cosmos towards the black hole may be responsible for the collection of elements to burst into energy and form stars. Pretty darn interesting universe!

i was thinking of our friends who were tortured and who died in the concentration-camps in germany and other countries during ww2..and that all in vane as i understand now.. i was thinking of the missionaries of age who are frustrated in their assignments, who see how their lives have gone with no reward and finally without a purpose.. i was thinking of bethelites of age, with no change to go back into real world.. i am glad i had the guts to leave missionary-work at the age of almost 40 and at least have the next 40 years a real life!.

Fulano, I too share your sentiments. The saddness and pain of heart are part of what makes us human. Why do we insist on making each other suffer in this world. Everything EVERYTHING ... could indeed be so much nicer.
How long ago did you leave the missionary service? Did you lose family members because of leaving? Have you found an outlet for your sensitivities?
I hope you will find some good ideas on this forum.

i found a video tape titled evolution what's in your childs textbook (well thats not the exact title but close.
) i asked why they bought this, the answer : it was a donation.

I asked why they bought this, The answer : it was a donation. Soooooo ... where do I find donations of scientic literature and videos? I mentioned to the librarian that it was a religious tape and she didn't say anything. I'm miffed and am wondering how to bring this up at the next board meeting?
It is crazy to think that these haters of knowledge get to give away their trash and the scientific community has no answer (that I'm aware of.)
Any ideas?

Bombarded by Particles....Whoaaat??
by Sentinel inyesterday near the end of my work day, around 4:30, i was listening to the best news station here on my work radio, (wtop) and heard something that seemed to be big news to me.
there was an informative discussion about the affects of this solar storm, and the consensus was that we may even have to totally disconnect all electronic devices, like telephones, pc's, vcr's, to "avoid damage".
it was stated that relying on the surge protectors will not work.

Sentinel: Yes there were 2 sun storms of a tremendous release of energy. The Japanese lost a satellite --- so much for those nay sayers who think this won't cause trouble. Also airlines were warned to fly below 25,000 ft for a few hours. I believe this is a fact of the Better Safe than sorry school. Here are 2 other websites for information:

Eric, You are hilarious. My husband used to pretend to speak only Swedish (which he doesn't speak at all) and people would look for interpretors. That was before the WTS --- they knocked the fun outta life for a long time. But now he does other stuff to thumb his nose at the status quo. The people who used to work for him had to have urine tests because otherwisw we couldn't get insurance for our vehicles.
And --- I'm with FSJim, I don'r want my DNA showing up on someone elses records. -

Does anyone remember the Seinfeld episode where Elaine tested posetive for opiates? The reason? She'd eaten a poppy seed roll. So she wanted Jerry's Mom to give her her pee for the second test. Her results were that she was post menapausal and had a calcium deficiency. So by those standards they could tell if your pee is male or female. But then Larry David might be jerking our chains.
No I wouldn't do it.

I don't see the connection to the Nov 1st article. It doesn't seem like a real reason to shut down a website. AND when they started the site they knew that opposing views would be posted. I mean if a Star Wars site can have an argument w/dubs --- anything's possible.

What's that saying "Only madmen and ????? stay out in the mid-day sun." So who would want the title of top dog at WTS, then the heat would focus on them. So who runs the place?
