Knowledge = freedom

Now I don't mean that as simplictically as it sounds. Why? Because knowledge means you got to reach for those books and journals; you've got to further your education and learn to think. For me thinking is a joy; learning is a joy and spreading the great feelings knowledge brings is a joy.

Relieving myself of a supernatural belief system was the second best life choice I ever made. The first was to marry Mr.Panda 32 years ago.

Jefferson once wrote "Fix reason in her seat, and call to her tribunal every fact every opinion. Question with boldness even the existence of God; because if there be one, he must more approve of the homage of reason, than that of blind folded fear."

I like the top photo ... and yes I know they are extremely expensive these days. If you go to a local photographer you will be able to get some seriously nice shots for much less $$$. Good grief even Glamour shots cost less!

January Kingdom Ministry -The Number 1 book -Bible Teach

the january kingdom ministry has two study articles and the the whole insert - all about how the what does the bible really teach is now the number 1 teach aid - no longer the knowledge book.

in fact the instructions in one of the sm items is to switch to the teach book as soon as possible with our bible studies.

it will be the offer in march and of course is being studied in book groups after the daniel book.

Live blogging!!! Don't make me laugh ... you'd need a decent PC and DSL to live blog. And unless the WTS finds a way to make money on that ... well they'll just hope to keep the RF in the dark .

If everyone on earth shared everything, would everyone have it all?

i mean , if a small amount of people had it all, they would have to build themselves a prison to live in to protect themselves from the ones who didn't right?

what is the point of that?

can there ever be peace on earth, if people are punishing and being punished?

If you are taking a philosophy course and have come up with this question, then ok. If not you will need to define "everything" as regarding your query. Also, define "everyone" and finally "share"... Otherwise you may need an intervention

I confess - Please help

i can't stand it anymore.

i've been suffering with a problem for the last 20 years.

i don't even know what it is called.

LL: My solution is to put up several trees; one for last years decorations, one for this years new stuff (or the stuff you bought on sale after christmas last year) and one tree for the cat to climb in... well thats just a suggestion because our cats will climb them all... and forget live trees ... we have a male Great Pyrenees who treats it like ...well ...a live tree.

I have so enjoyed decorating for the holidays. And being mezmerized by tree lights and ornaments is just one of thos manic feel good rites of the holiday.

some of the kids my age in my hall are just an insult to my generation.

at the service meeting last week i was talking with one and we were near the front of the hall and there were a bunch of little kids running and jumping around the stage.

she goes: "what a shame.

I rememeber being one of the people telling the kids not to play on the stage. But I don't remember calling it Jahs throne??? I thought the whole Earth was his foot stool?

Intelligent Design and Real World Nastiness

the concept of intelligent design in every form that ive run across contains as a basic premise, the benevolence of the "intelligence" behind the design.

please dont misunderstand; i'm not faulting proponents of id for this.

any other id scenario involving a supreme being is frankly too depressing to contemplate.

TD I wanted to add to your topic (I admit I read the humorous one first) . When I was a dub I always had a tough time understanding all of the yucky diseases and virus's in the world. I mean it's no wonder we humans dream up stuff like Alien (the movie which I love). The anopheles mosquito and its parasitic relationship to mammals is so incredibly interesting. Look at all the other amazing illness spread by mosquitoes and its no wonder we want to smash the buggers (he heh). We have had several animals contract West Nile virus here in south south Texas. I don't even want to imagine what NewOrleans will look like in the spring BUGS galore. Anyway as to any god or being who would actually design such troublesome illnesses reminds me of all those evil scientists in movies ... how next to destroy the world and how to make it really painful. Like with malaria ... eventually your water (urine) turns black and vital organs become pain dealing buggers. Nice god all you believers...
