In shock.

last night(tuesday) an announcement was made in our congregation that my husband and i had disassociated ourselves.

we did no such thing(for personal reasons) nor was any document whatsoever given to the local elders or anyone else.

nevertheless, that is what happened, apparently no letter of resignation is required.

i have contributed financially to the cause of silentlambs.org and have, to a smaller extent, even promoted the website.

it is difficult enough to fathom the depth of hurt heaped on humankind, but impossible for me to understand how such suffering can be compounded with injustice, as i read experiences on silentlambs.org.

You should continue to support the cause. I dont think the agenda of silent lambs has changed! But I do think that the issue has been well rested and it is time to drop it already! This board has hiped it up and the issue is DEAD!

many people say that they just faded away and never went back to the org.

i also faded away and i never felt any true love and friendship in the org.

brothers and sisters were like soldiers who were working for a common goal of making new recruits.

DF'ed for Organ Transplants?

i'm in a discussion with a jw who is claiming that the society never actually prohibited organ transplants between 1967 and 1980. she has read the 1967 article, but feels that, since the article does not specifically state that anyone taking a transplant will be disfellowshipped, that it was simply discouraged, but not prohibited.. can anyone help with a reference demonstrating that jw's could be df'ed during that period for accepting a transplant?

these days, it takes a lot of money to make ends meet.

i live in southern california, and it takes even more.

let alone if one wants to get ahead in life.. in order to do that, either one needs schooling, or must own their own business.

Our area in NY is pretty afluent. Most of the Jdubs are too. There was a CO that would come and visit and lecture the congregation about materialism as a local needs talk, every time he visited. But of course would never turn down the money, myself or others would give him at the end of the week.

My Bmw fit in just fine with the rest of them, except mine was a little 3 series, I was modest.
