  Elders finally took me to the back room...

  after several months of leaving the meetings as soon as they ended or only staying for "the first meeting" then leaving the "second part", the elders finally cornered me at last night's meeting.. they said they were concerned about me and that being that i am a young brother in a recently divided congregation they saw so much potential in me to help out the congregation and become a ms.. i told them i was thankful for their thinking of me to help the congregation but that at the moment i could not due to my job.

  then the began asking personal questions that got on my nerves.. they asked where i worked and how much i made.

  they asked if i was going to college and what i was studying and for how long.

  I used to always just tell them no when they asked to talk to me. We as witnesses have been so conditioned to believe that we have to talk to the elders or obey them. We don't. Just smile, maintain a positive persona and decline the invitation. Like this:

  ELDER: Hey finallyfree, it's great to see you tonight. How about them(insert local sports team here)?

  FINALLYFREE : They are awesome and so am I!

  ELDER: Could we talk to you for a couple minutes?

  FINALLYFREE : Sure.... What's up?

  ELDER: Let's go back here for some privacy.

  FINALLYFREE : No thanks. What's up?

  ELDER: ohhhhh...... Ummmmmmmm......... Well we are just concerned about you. You have been missing more meetings than you had in the past and we are concerned.

  FINALLYFREE : That's so nice that I have been missed and I appreciate your concern. However, I'm doing great spiritually and emotionally. I throw my few burdens on Jehovah through prayer and supplication and leave any mundane concerns I have in his capable hands. Thanks tho for your concern.

  Then just smile and walk away with confidence and energy. blows their minds. Once you do that 2 or 3 times the power shifts to your hands and they won't even want to "help" you.

  Witness wants to come and vist. What to do?

  so i haven't studied with this witness since october.

  she had taken over when the other could not study with me.

  reasons unknown to me other than that she told me her and husband had separated.

  I didn't read the other comments, so this might have been suggested. Just tell her not to come over. I was an active witness for 30 years and it's fairly common for people to brush you off. Don't worry about hurting her feelings. She will just rush you like the dust off of her feet. And on to the next 1.

  What is the latest New Light?

  if you haven't been around for 8 years then you would have missed a generation teaching changing again.basically goes like this,a generation consists of lives that overlap. So the anointed will always be represented on earth by various lives overlapping. So if I 90 year old is about to die of the annointed and a child is born who later becomes of the anointed the chain can go on forever.

  Why would the bible be only for them now? I know according to them that only the GB can interpret scripture but why do you ask if its only for them?

  Feel the Goddamned Love

  my mil of 38 years - who has not spoken to me for the 9 years since i left her cult - died on sunday.. today, as a favor to my sil who has spoken to me very rarely, for the same reasons, over the same period of time, i was moving some personal items to her home from the nursing home.

  in this instance i guess it is ok to speak with me - if i have a strong back and a conveyance that aids her needs at the moment.. anyway, in the parking lot of the apartment complex where she lives, while we are moving in those items, guess who shows up?

  five or six of my old 'best friends'.
