How many JW pedofiles do you personally know?
by oldlightnewshite ini was just thinking that out of the 200 jws that i actually know, at least 4 of them to my knowledge are pedophiles.
i know for a fact, through personal confidences.
that means, as far as my circle of jovo friends/acquaintances goes, 2% of them are kiddy fiddlers.. without mentioning names or details, how many do you know of for a certainty to be pedos, and what percentage does it work out at, considering all your circle of jovo friends?.

STOP MAKING CRAP UP!
by Sheep2slaughter ini had to start this thread in light of today's watchtower study.
in paragraph 14,15 they mention the grounds for separation.
no scriptures are sighted but i am well aware of the support they usually use.. i am so sick of the watchtower making crap up!

Farkel: not sure of the intent of your last comment but I do regret that I typed 'sighted' instead of 'sited'. You knew what I meant man!

They won't take action against a couple that separates in general even if they view the grounds as frivolous. They will just admonish you of the dangers of separation and encourage you to do things Jehovah's way. Brother might not be able to be held up as an example. To me the problem is that some very sincere individuals that take the society's words as gospel will stay in a relationship where they are beat and abused cuz they fear displeasing god if it's not extreme enough. Or as was pointed out at out meeting today, they need to see what they personally are doing to lead to the situation they are in. Like there is ever a justifiable reason to hit another person! Makes me sick.

Haleybear: copy and paste the following for the article: http://download.jw.org/files/media_magazines/w_E_20120515.pdf
Its actually not the most offensive article as long as one can look past the relatively high divorce rate among witnesses, The lie that the elders won't view you differently if you have marital problems, the audacity of the society in adding to the scriptures(grounds for separation) and so on.
Jgnat: so sorry to hear you were treated so horribly. Glad you are the strong woman you are today tho.
I find the way the "slave" twist scripture and make up stuff offensive all the time. It's laced into almost every sentence they write/utter. I usually just filter out their nonsense. Today I just needed to mini-rant.
What made up crap do they spout that gets your goat?

I am SO SICK of the Watchtower MAKING CRAP UP! I think any A-Hole who treats their wife or husband with the sheer lack of respect and decency as mentioned in these grounds should have to suffer their mates wrath. The wronged mate should be able to search their heart, conscience and relationship with God and make their own choice as to how to proceed...whatever the supposed wrong. We all will have an accounting before God. They/we do not need the WTBTS making up rules not stated in scripture and then passing them off as scripture. They do this mess with facial hair, sexual relations between married mates, hours in ministry, judicial procedure and so many other things. STOP MAKING SHIT UP AND STICK TO THE SCRIPTURES YOU SO CLAIM TO REVERENCE!! /rant
What say you?

Latest WT: "Refusing to appear before a JC is like refusing medical treatment"
by cedars inin the latest october 15th 2012 watchtower (page 13).... "because of what they perceive as defects in the elders, some individuals who engage in serious wrongdoing in the congregation have refused to appear before a committee of elders assigned to help them.
this could be likened to a patient who loses out on the benefits of a treatment because he does not like something about the doctor.".
sounds like they're now trying to stigmatize those who try to avoid judical action.

Isn't medical treatment optional? I will use this paragraph to justify my refusal to meet next time they ask. "Let me alone, get "spiritually sick"(in your extremely harsh, crital, judgmental eyes) and let me die(so say you haters)."

He's probably a bethelite actually so I bet he is around 19 or so. His hands look too strong to be a kid.

Donations = iPads?
by Emery ini had my co visit not too long ago and in our conversation on technology (i'm an apple guy) he stated that within the last year the branch supplied all traveling overseers with free ipads to use.
he then proceeded to tell me he doesnt personally bring his to the meetings as not to stumble anyone (or maybe because we might see his high score on temple run).
i was pretty surprised by this and began wondering... are jw donations towards the world wide work going to ipads for do's and co's to use in their spare time?

@Balter and @Elderelite Everyone in my hall thought of me when we had that part at the Circuit. So I told them that "that part doesn''t apply to me cuz I use Apple products. They only come with a single sheet of paper and the learning curve is slight. Must have been talking about Windows Mobile, Blackberry or Android users!" I was met with severe eye rolling to say the least!

I gotta agree with Anony Mous. I see so much value in the savings and efficiency of an iPad that it is irresponsible for them NOT to provide them to the traveling overseers.
