  has anyone seen "who's line is it anyway"...we get it down here on pay, and they just keep repeating the stuff over and over.its awesome, i just cant stop laughing at the stuff!.ryan styles from off the drew carry show is one funny guy!its the best show on tv....that and the larry sanders show!

  In view of this is my reaction so extreme?

  If you were witnessing a murder would politely ask the murderer to stop?

  Satan appears as an angel of light and so therefore not an obvious enemy.

  How you react is your right SS. You obviously have a high regard for truth, and more so a hatred for evil. Yet you must also respect those who choose to react differently, and even in their reacting differently, it doesn't mean that they hold those same principles as yourself any less.

  Your illustration of stopping a murderer does not appear to be overly applicable to this situation. Otherwise the same could be said of God, why hasn't he done anything for so many thousands of years as people die.

  Police don't storm a bank with a robber holding hostages. Peaceful resolutions are usually sought before going to war. Most problems lack a simple and obvious solution.

  Outright condemning people for supporting the GB or remaining a Witness does little good. You get slapped with the "disgruntled apostate" label and no one listens to you. In the end you end up hurting the ones you are trying to help, or becoming like the ones you condemn.

  This "battle" is won by information and patience while at the same time not giving into destructive emotions.

  Stay cool SS. We're all on the same side and even those whom you believe to be enemies might not be. Perhaps they are merely pawns of someone higher. We were them once too. People can change.

  Suppose you are right and this all goes down like you say it could, why would the members still want to stick around? It would seem to me that such turmoil would be sufficient evidence for many that they are free.

  I think too, despite having been exposed, you might be surprised that those who remain will be more likely to support the Governing Body than any new controlling body.

  Any new controlling body will find that they too will fall into the same pitfalls as the previous GB. And winning the hearts of the blind and loyal sheep will be the hardest task of all.

  Thanks for those comments BT.

  I understand what you are saying and don't dispute what you say. I am just having difficulty with the 30% thing as I cannot possibly figure how such could be determined accurately except by means of some sort of annonymous pole by Brooklyn.

  I realize that the COs are the eyes and ears, and I realize their input is considered valuable. I also agree with you that what friends from Bethel etc reveal in confidence in one on one discussion is quite different than what is presented in public. Like I said, its just the 30% thing that I'm having a hard time seeing.

  I do hope you are right, as it will likely make things easier for us in this boat the sooner these things materialize. I guess I just don't want to get my hopes up. There are simply too many rumours and I don't want to jump on any bandwagons.

  I like your posts BT, but I think its time for a reality check on this one.

  The key word in the Society is OBEDIENCE. These guys can offer valuable suggestions to the Society but that is about it. There is no global union of COs and missionaries. At best there is a few communicating in Australia as you say, or wherever.

  These guys are generally older with no where to go. Any dissent and they are demoted. They may be concerned, but that's about it. They are between a rock and a hard place if they start to comprehend the big picture.

  I'm not saying you can't be right BT, but if your sources are "dreamer Rick" from H20 and someone calling themselves "Aussie Boy", I'll need more convincing evidence than that.

  It has been estimated that approximately 1/3 of all travelling overseers WORLDWIDE are ready and willing to stage a "coup d'e-tat", wherein a "sudden and decisive action occurs, esp. one resulting in a change of government illegally or by force results."

  Its been estimated by who and with what possible statistics or facts? Whoever said this is a complete dreamer.

  I agree with the Society reaching critical mass and many see problems. But most see it as the members fault (ie. not applying "the slave's" advice) similar to the Isrealites on the verge of the Promised Land (that old one again).

  When people can't see what the real problem is, they still will cling to the "truth" no matter what.

  This one third "coup de tat" is sheer fantasy at present. Perhaps when the information is simply overwhelming and a major rift occurs in the organization, but right now the majority are still in ignorance.
