Judicial Defense ?
by thinker init occurs to me that this forum has a vast resource of knowledge and experience.
i'd like to suggest we put our heads together and find possible defenses for active witnesses facing a judicial committee.
with frenchy's intimate knowledge of committee rules and rr's huge library, along with everyone's individual experience; we we should be able to build a logical defense (assuming logic is a useful tool to jw's).. from my own research, i have put together a logical defense for an active jw who wishes to associate with a da'd friend.

I will say one more thing as well. No matter how much information your husband gathers, no matter how hard he tries to understand, there will always be something lost until one has lived it.
There is a whole "mindset", a whole "pattern of thought" that JWs have. It takes years to develope and a lifetime to abandon. Its very difficult to explain and impossible to understand. You only know by having done the time.

Your husband is a very kind person. His reasoning is sound, just that it will be wasted on a Judicial Committee. What one has to remember is, no matter how intelligent a Witness is, at some point to remain a Witness, he has abandonded sound reasoning.
Your husband's research is good, if only for himself and those who will care to reason on it. There's a time and place for everything, and a Judicial Committee is neither of those things.

Funny how the past has been hidden with so much just sitting on half of our bookshelves or on a computer disc.
Quite interesting to see just how much things have changed. The religion becomes a completely different entity every 15 years or so. And at the same time, despite how much its changed, it remains surprisingly, or should i say, sadly the same.

Watchtower History
by RR ini once offered this to obed, and he did seem interested, however, because of my being a free thinker, it didn't go too well with the jw moderators on witnet.. i had propose a history forum, where the history of the watchtower society could be analyzed, their beliefs, and practices, how they evolved, why they believe as they did or do.
such a forum will enlighten many to the organization they either once called or currently call 'jehovah's visible organization.'.

The New World

Hey Larc. Just want to say I've enjoyed your comments/sarchasm since being here.
I don't think alot of change to the NW pics has happened since the multicultural thing.
I think about the last item that raised some eyebrows was a picture of a bulldozer or something in the Live Forever book (?). This led to the speculating that perhaps for a short while we'll make use of the old system's heavy machinery and diesel fuel (lol) to clean up the post Armageddon mess.
Of course, when one starts to think about such a physical world, you begin to realize how completely unfeasible it is to live as portrayed in the pictures.
Yeah, there's still the mowed lawns, with no lawn mowers ever in sight. There's still the modern style homes, that some how are built with no power tools or heavy equiment. I don't know who's running the sawmill or who has to go and mine the metal to make the nails and how it gets transported is beyond me.
People still don't have beards either. I figure we'll keep the Gillette factory open, but who's going to work there?? Plus it looks like we'll wear modern shoes as well, so I guess we might keep one or two of the Nike sweat shops open in China.
I've posted before that the whole physical Paradise thing is not feasible, or its not feasible to live the way we do or as portrayed in the pictures. Perhaps it might work if we just go back to a primitive state, but that is completely against the spirit of humanity.
Of course, I'm overlooking the obvious answer and solution to these dillemmas. "Wait on Jehovah".

As for reporting things. I have watched too many times the C.O. walk away. Either he has been lied to by the elders, or he chooses not to look. I don't know which. And it seems like when one does start to get a handle on things it is time for him to move on. The next one, in my experience usually chooses to ignore the previous one's warning.

Just stopping by to say hi....

as long as i have been on the net, i hadn't used it for anything remotely related to jw until earlier this year.. i was looking into bb software for our company's site, and on the infopop site i saw a link for witnet!
since witnet closed, i have seen so much online, it's been a little overwhelming, lol.. i really enjoyed my time there, and i'll stop in here from time to time, if you can handle it.
