How Come The US Media is Silent?
by Kent in.
how come the us media haven't mentioned a word about us troops abusing children in iraq, in their prisons and on cuba?
it's all over europe - but inside the us the subject is never mentioned.. so much for the "land of freedom" (for war criminals!

Unlikely, but what if this happened re:Iraq
by IronGland insaddam is put on trial and he is sentenced to life in prison instead of death.
the iraqis get things under control enough to where in a year or so the americans pull their troops out.
once the americans are gone, the 'provisional government' frees saddam, says 'welcome back mr president' and he takes charge of iraq again.

Just stopped in on lunch hour--really quick: a prisoner of war is to be released and tried in an international court (Geneva Conventions?). I just read that but don't have time to look it up (LA Times?--it was today).
It makes sense, because Husseins political enemies are in charge now. An international court would be more unbiased, it seems to me so the law makes sense.

Hi Yeru,
I don't know about US declaring a party bogus, but I did read (sorry don't have it handy and I'm off to work soon) that the US retained the right to declare a party in the elections illegal.

Hi Irongland,
Good thoughtful idea. It doesn't seem to me that the American people would stand for another invasion as the polls are indicating a majority of people don't think Iraq was worth it.
But I read somewhere, I could be wrong, that the interim ruler is an arch-enemy of Hussein and actually worked with the CIA to help sabotage him. So it wouldn't seem possible that this guy (Allawi?) would let this happen.
But, you never know.

This is good, Brummie. I have quite a list of sayings I like, but can't think of a one now!
I saw the play below and liked the following (but all of it really):
The Bitch is Out! (a song)
And "I'm out of hormones and I have a gun."
Lol, I identified with almost all of it.
Book by Amanda McBroom & Joel Silberman -- Lyrics By Amanda McBroom -- Music by Joel Silberman. Additional music by Amanda McBroom, Michele Brourman and Robben Ford -- Directed by Joel Silberman. Musical direction by Dean Mora. June 10 thru July 11, 2004
Rubicon presents the world premiere production of a new one-woman musical play by Amanda McBroom and Joel Silberman. This thrilling show stars renowned actress and songwriter Amanda McBroom (best known for her hit song "The Rose"), who also appeared in the award-winning ensemble of Rubicon's "Jacques Brel" last season. McBroom plays a modern woman in crisis, who turns to Shakespeare's women for answers and advice. This insightful piece runs the gamut from soulful to hysterically funny, as such characters as Katherine the Shrew, Ariel the Fairy, Gertrude the Queen, and of course, the infamous Lady Macbeth offer their opinions on life and love.

Are you black or white ? ( just asking)
by vitty inplease dont take offence but ive just realised something maybe its been touched on before,.but when i was reading the thread on bil cosby i read the one off obviously secret.
now as i am a white person i assumed he was white until he stated he was black.
so when i thought about it, i imagine everyone on this site is white, does everyone who is black imagine everyone else is black, and anyone oriental imagine everyone else is oriental.

As far as I know from doing geneaology, I'm German on father's side, English & Irish on mother's (with one wee lassie coming from Scotland).
Actually, I'm a bit "swarthy" with very dark hair and olive-type complexion, so maybe there's something else thrown in there that I didn't discover in the research!
This is an interesting thread!

Bachlor Recipes?
by Lostreality inim looking for any cheap, easy to make, good food ideas and recipes out there.. my current meal most of the time is either.
cheese casadia: shred some cheese on a tortilla, add some cut up lunch meat (chicken is best) sprinkle hot sauce and microwave for 45 seconds.
sprinkle more hotsauce (if you like, i love it) and place another tortilla on top of the cheese, meat, and hot sauce.

This is what i've been having for breakfast lately. I like it because I don't have to sit to eat it and can carry it with me:
Put in blender:
2 cups of water
2/3 cup of nonfat dry milk
1 cup of either frozen strawberries or peaches (or whatever you like)
2 tsps of plain powdered cocoa
Sweetener (Splenda)
Blend it all until smooth and drink. The milk becomes foamy and it makes about two tall glasses.

Was there really a global flood? (new publication reasoning)
by Simon inthe latest "keep on the watch" publication released at the district assembly really looks like a rehash of old material (and even old pictures ... they must be running out of paint or something!)..
one 'gem' caught my eye flicking through it.
how do you reason with people to convince them that the bible account of a global flood is real?.

Hi SD and AlanF,
Thanks for the information and the sites. I've bookmarked them too and will read more about them. That's really a fascinating subject and seems to effectively debunk the Flood.

Hi Panda, You're right--it was irrelevant to this discussion but a good example of the same kind of argument, imo.
Hi Abaddon, You said:
Trees. Alive. Today. Were. Growing. Before. Any. Possible. Biblical. Date. Of. A. Global. Flood.
What kind of trees were, I mean, are they? I know the redwoods in California are over a thousand years old, but wouldn't a tree have to be over 4,000 years old to predate a date of the flood? That would be a good fact to have on hand!
