I think the 1000 years of rulership applied to the earth, so only after the big A. They teach that Jesus is already ruling in heaven only, so that's out of the scope for the 1000 years.
One must wonder about what exactly Geeeeshus is doing on a daily basis in heaven. Imagine that, a King that spends his days looking at all the problems on earth and does nothing for over 100 years.

can anyone remember the thread on here about someone--in an assembly--using his phone to "set up" an apostate type hot spot ? it was all too technical for me--but it seemed like a workable idea.
I remember, it could be done with an Android phone. The idea is great in principle, but i'm not sure if it's workable with potentially have several dozen people connecting to the hotspot at the same time, it might drag the connection down to a halt.

Well I guess I should go with 40V then.
Mine are about 7 years old, but I ended up buying Ryobi 18v setup, Hedge Trimmer, Blower, and weed wacker. All run on same battery and it does the job, but the blower is not as strong as I would like. I have a corded one and there is a big difference.
Still have a gas mower, but it's on it's way out, so maybe I will look into a battery powered one.

The 18 - 40 age group is probably the most prone to walking out. They are no longer forced by parents to go to the meetings, and are digitally savvy, and pretty worldly in their ways.
The Org will more and more be a place with old folks with a few young kids, and then eventually will just be old folks, who are took tired to think or too committed to change.

A lot of places outside the USA, already don't offer plastic bags and force you to bring your own bag or make you buy one if you don't have it.
Or alternatively, start producing big-degradable plastic bags which is also a good option. We are killing the environment with the amount of plastic. Start investing in R&D for bio plastic, such as hemp.

Agreed, but again, there could be benefits to those observing. If someone is standing in view of everybody at the exit with a sign for a website, out of the thousands passing by, a few -- perhaps more than what we think -- we'll be curious to take a look, especially the younger crowd.

I personally would not do it, but it's silly to say it's ridiculous or a waste of time. It's not. Especially in the digital age.
Back in the day, when we were leaving conventions, apostates had to resort to yelling or trying to approach you, and those things really don't work. However, if at that time, there had been an apostate peacefully standing with a sign for JWFacts let's say, I could well be curious about taking a look on my own time.
There isn't one size fits all like someone already said, some apostates are idiots and use stupid tactics, but there are some who can have an impact. Conventions are a great way to get something in front of many JW eyes.

What nonsense. Profiling is incredibly helpful. There is a reason why law enforcement agencies draw a profile of a suspect in crimes that are very hard to solve, such as when the FBI looks for a serial killer. Yes it is possible that a serial killer that has been raping and killing young college students could be a 65 year old eskimo woman. But chances are, it's not, and profiling helps law enforcement to not waste time.
There are certain behaviors that are largely associated with specific types of individuals. The issue is that when these types of individuals end up aligning with racial lines, we all get into a moral panic, because somehow we are all supposed to believe that all races behave exactly the same way.

I used to pioneer with a friend who was black, worked as a mason, and had a used BMW 325.
We (HE) would get stopped and harassed by the police with great regularity in our lilly white territory.
I think someone already mentioned this, but this type of profiling is not completely unreasonable. This type of bias is a result of previous observations. What do we see in the media about violent crime? To me almost every time the media reports about a serious crime (robbery, shooting, assault, stabbing, etc) is seems that a large percentage of the suspects are black (at least in my area). Time and time again, we see the same types of suspects in the same types of crimes, and this plays in peopleās minds. Also, what are the most dangerous areas in our country? Is is where people from India live? Well no, as you already know.
If Iām walking down the street at 1am, and I see two Asian guys walking my way, there is no uneasy feeling. Why? Well because my experience has been that I donāt see many Asians committing robberies.
To illustrate this further, if you were on a plane, and you know there was a terrorist on board, who do you look at first? The 75 year old Japanese women two rows down? Or perhaps the middle eastern guy next to her? You know the answer, and again this bias is based on your observations.
We must feel sorry for anybody in the black community that is a decent person getting harassed by law enforcement, but the profiling that is at the source of this, is not fabricated out of nothing.
