Jesus on the stake

i sat in recently with some relatives for the sunday meeting.

the talk was given by a bethel speaker, who at one point quoted john 20:25.

Yup, and what sense would it make for a criminal to carry perhaps a 10 foot stake to his execution? Then what? They spend the next hour digging a hole? Then nail a person to the stake, try to balance it while filling the hole around the stake, while making sure it's upright? Then removing the stake so the next criminal does it again. No way this happened.

It's so obvious that the stake was permanently placed, an what the criminals carried was the cross bar, which yes would then be lifted along with the criminal and hung on the stake. The stake remains for the next one. Now THAT makes sense.

JW's and the National Anthem/Flag

one thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.

we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.

I remember being a JW and going to a few games with fellow cult members, and once the national anthem started playing, our group keeping our hats on and staying seated, while the folks around us looked on with disgust and often with snarky remarks directed at us.

I never liked that. I always wanted to show respect but just had to go with the program.

Well we know it will be a black woman, and this a clear indication of how idiotic American society is, where candidates have zero expectations for the intellect of Americans. After all he thinks a black woman will get votes from women and from blacks just because of what she is. Sadly, he's probably right.

It could well be that the VP pick might be important here, because Joe is almost 80. There is a chance that his pick might actually be President. From my side, I've been leaning on not voting at all. I won't vote for Trump, and I really dont want to vote for Biden + a radical leftist. Hope he chooses a centrist.

To be fair, the Latin sentence structure of the Second Amendment is confusing to some people, so their position strikes me more as inaccurate / incorrect / untenable / erroneous than unconstitutional.
But that's just me

Who gives a shit. It's really stupid this idea that we need to parse and decipher words written by men hundreds of years ago who knew way less that we do, as if they were Moses walking down the mountain with tablets.

These were MEN. We should be able to decide on our own what exactly is better for our country today without worrying what some guys thought was right that long ago.

look at the new york post online today and watch the videos of mayhem and destruction to the city with fires all over manhattan.

the police vehicles are being destroyed and torched and the rioting just goes on and on.. i regularly went to nyc sometimes once a month for years.

now, who on earth would want to go to this hellhole??.

Comrade DeBlasio wants to allow mayhem -- somehow he thinks that chaos and destruction will cause people to vote against Trump. To me this doesn't make a lot of sense. Why would voters vote against Trump when these cities are all Dem and Trump is the voice speaking out against the chaos.

Being that Trump is so behind in the polls makes me think it will be very hard for him to win, but if anything this sort of nonsense will only help him.

He is not a statesman. Just take everything he says with a grain of salt.

This is true. There is a huge silent majority of people just observing at the moment. They haven't done anything because ... well it hasn't gotten to their neighborhoods.

If you observe the antifa types that are rioting, they are soft weak teenagers who are bullies and don't have the grit to actually fight. They just want to take a hammer to a window.

The huge mistake would be to start targeting suburbs where people are armed and anxious. I could well see some rioters decide they will target a neighborhood and private homes and that is where this takes a huge turn.

IMO I first off don't believe the polls that put Trump so far behind. I don't buy that the people of the US are behind Burn Loot Murder.

The majority of people are not behind the protests and certainly not behind the rioting. These protests are probably the best thing that could have happened to Trump, however even with that taken into account, the fact that he is so much behind in so many national polls, makes me think that the path to victory won't be easy for him.

People hated Clinton, but they don't really hate Biden. If anything they sorta feel sorry for him, because he seem old and frail. We'll see what happens with the debates.

If Trump wins, you really have to wonder how much move divided people can be.

There is a professor who has been predicting election results and has only failed twice, that is giving Trump a 91% chance of winning and I think he is on the money.

Notice they are now calling for Biden to not debate Trump. Why do you think this is? I've been saying that Trump will crush Biden on any debate. Biden is a terrible candidate and I can barely believe this is the candidate that Dems chose in order to try to beat Trump.

A few months ago, I actually thought that Trump would lose, but this spiral into identity politics and the ridiculous protests and the woke mobs, cancel culture, communist movements associated with the Left are giving Trump a pathway to victory.

The majority of Americans are not radical, right or left. Most are just left or right of center, and they will reject radical ideology. To be fair, most of the radical ideology that is actually getting traction in the establishment is within the Dem party.

I would go as far as saying that the Dem party is at a breaking point, and will probably start losing most elections. Even in my local elections for Mayor, I'm going to vote Republican (and i'm not Republican), because I'm afraid a Dem mayor would bow to the mobs about defunding police and other similar nonsense.
