and btw, i dislike Trump but honestly, I've been paying attention to the messaging from Biden's campaign and his platform is basically about how Trump is bad. Every tweet, every message, post etc.
How about telling us what HE is going to do? His plan, etc. I think that all the voters at this point have no idea what his plan is except him basically saying "Hey at least I'm not Trump"
Could it be that Biden doesn't want to voters to know? I mean looking at his tax plan it's no wonder he wants to keep it out of sight.

The murder rate is up by double digits in more than 50% of the largest cities. Portland has been burning for 100 days straight. The media is trying to blame Trump because it supposedly happened "on his watch"
I think if Biden wins this sets up a pretty bad precedent. It means that if a portion of the country does not like the current president, they can just go around rioting and looting in order to scare the voters into voting the way they want.
The Dem party needs to be sent a message that this should not be the way to win an election.

I just hope the American people vote in a President that isn't constantly in the news for saying or doing something stupid, unscrupulous and socially immoral.
I don't disagree. But at the end of the day, voting has to be more than personality. What good is it if we elect a POTUS that is polished and measured in his words, if he is pushing policies that are hurtful to all of us?
I'm just trying to put things in perspective. The stupidity of Trump will likely hurt me less that actual policies which have real impact.

I haven't been on this site in a long time. I am sorry to see so many ex Jw's as Trumptards.
To the extent that someone supports Trump because of a cult-like adherence to a political ideology and party, I would agree. But there are also many of us, who are at this point carefully considering that it means for either side to win. I voted for Hillary in 2016 even if holding my nose.
Things are different now. If Trump wins, in 4 years, we'll likely be ok. The economy will be strong, jobs will be plenty, law enforcement won't be defunded, communists won't get both feet in the door of government (they already have one), taxes won't be raised across the board for everybody (look at Biden's tax plan). Yes, we'll have to put up with the tweets, and the buffoonery of Trump, and how he says the wrong things all the time, and the lies about trivial things. But clearly, that cannot be the only criteria by which we vote.
You really want to base your vote on personality traits? I'm focused on things that REALLY affect me: Safety and security, taxes I pay, investment returns, the idea of taking care of our problems first, having a measure of control on immigration, etc etc.
Each voter should he asking himself a few questions:
- Do you want to pay more taxes across the board, including double taxes on your investment returns?
- Do you want a POTUS that supports defunding the police and is surrounded by radicals who insist this must be done?
- Do you want to reward a political party that is trying to coerce voters into voting for them under penalty of mob violence in the streets?
- Do you want to encourage illegal immigration vs actual legal immigration? And on this note, do you want to pay more taxes to give people who have just crossed a border to have free healthcare and education?
- Do you want a POTUS that rubs elbow with people that think America is evil and needs to be destroyed?
- Do you want a POTUS that coddles communists and gives them a platform?
Food for thought.

Received a letter from a JW today.
by smiddy3 init started off as "dear friend ,as one of your neighbours" , however the postmark on the letter was from 2 townships away ?
a good twenty minute car drive away .a minor point i know.
it goes on about how she is concerned about the effects that current events are having on the welfare of the community and the corona-virus has prevented her from discussing the issues personally with me.. she then goes on to state and quote jeremiah 29:11 and then goes on to say "for more information about this promise and other questions like :.

Well, curiously I just received one yesterday. Was surprised, and was actually simmering on the idea of sending the pamphlet back to this person with a letter of my own. Very odd to receive personal letters from strangers.

Hillary is telling all Americans to NOT CONCEDE IF TRUMP WINS----FIGHT! What will you do if you are put in a corner.
by pistolpete inhillary clinton is telling all democratic supporters to be ready to fight if trump wins.
other democratic leaders are telling the masses to destroy everything in their cities and cripple the economy if trump is elected president.
other democratic leaders are appealing to the military who support the democratic agenda to step in and stop any arm citizens on the side of trump if he is elected, and remove the president by force if he wins the election.. hillary clinton is making it clear to the democratic supporters, that joe biden will become president -after president trump becomes elected.. looks like a dictator coup d'état,to overthrow the usa government by non-democratic means is now in the making.

To be fair, she is not telling supporters to not concede. She is saying BIDEN shouldn't concede, which is curious because that is what they say about Trump -- that he will not concede if he loses. I suspect that if Trump loses, he will concede without much fuss, and I actually think it will be a lot more problematic if Biden wins. Not so much because of Biden -- I doubt he'll even understand what's going on, but I think the level of unrest from the radical leftists will increase right after. What that means for our cities, I'm not really sure yet.

California passes bill lessening penalty for pedophiles having sex with willing kids.
by mickbobcat ini was wondering about this.
if california or other far left groups in charge would push for making pedophiles quote normal unquote.
so it passed but has yet to be signed by newsom.

I think that 10 years is too large of a gap, both for the existing law and the new law. A 24 year old having sex with a 14 year old is categorically wrong, and same for 25/15. If you reduce that gap, then you can stop giving judges so much discretion in these cases.
If it was instead 5 years 14/19, or 15/20, then it seems reasonable enough that a judge could have discretion as it might be a case where 2 people close in age are involved. You cannot convince me that a 24 year old having sex with a 14 year old is something other than an adult having a true pathology.

It seems to me there are a lot of (moderate) people who don't necessarily like Trumps image but are put off by the obvious bias in the media toward him and are leaning in favor him more and more. They're becoming more willing to consider him as a possibility.
To me, this pretty much captures what is about the happen. It's not that Trump is great, we can all see his many flaws. The issue here is to decide which side seems as if they will defend our way of life, our principles, our republic and our constitution.
Now, Biden is not a radical. However he is surrounded by many radicals. How much mental fortitude does he have to keep their insane policies at bay? I suspect not much, and this is what makes electing Biden dangerous.
For as many flaws as Trump has (and there are many), the man is really not a pushover. Look at how Bolton and others tried so hard to get Trump to go to war to suit their interests and Trump stood his ground and kept us out of another war. There is something to be said about that.

If you had asked me this question in March, I would have said Trump will almost certainly lose. Even with the economy doing well, there was enough shrugging of the shoulders among some of his base, disillusion by others in how he under delivered on things like the wall, and then finally the Covid virus and the mixed opinions on his handling.
However, the Left yet again shoots itself in the foot. They can't help themselves. The Floyd incident and the spiraling out of the control resulting from it, along with the Left's idiotic coddling of the radicals that make their base, have given Trump new life.
I would say the numbers are not great, but if we learn a lesson about 2016, polls cannot be trusted.
