and they could have an independent country if they were willing to negotiate. But a negotiation can only happen if both parties are willing to accept the other side as a negotiator. If the palestinians think that Israel has no right to exist, how do you negotiate with that?

Do YOU Think Biden Actually Won As President?
by minimus inor do you think trump actually won???
?.

I have been resisting this idea that Biden stole the election, because there just hasn't been real evidence of it. The courts rejected everything presented to them as well.
But the evidence that is beginning to come out starting with Arizona, is pretty damming. I'm not surprised, it's bit foolish to think that the "machine" wouldn't pull strings in order to get its way.
Trump, even if i don't like him, is not part of the system. The man is a buffoon, but you have to give him credit in that he has not let himself be bought by the system. And so the system hated him.
If you think about it, it took a pandemic (which perhaps was also planned by the Chinese to make things worse before the election) and rigging the election to negate the public support that Trump got.

David Webb accused of white privelege ...

How can someone be accused of white privilege?
Privilege is something you either have or not. Even if someone has some sort of privilege, they just have it, they didn't ask for it.
Will Smith's kids have tremendous privilege. All sorts of doors are open to them that are closed to the average person. Yet, I wouldn't accuse them of anything. They were just lucky to be born into their position in society.

it's not easy to empathize with Palestinians. In a way you do feel bad for the way they are treated by Israelis as second level citizens, but here's the thing:
It is the Palestinians who refuse peace. The only way forward is a two state deal, but how do you do that when the Palestinians say they refuse, and that the only acceptable thing is for Israel to stop existing? You can't negotiate with people like that -- they are not honest brokers.
Any Palestinian who complains about Israel is a moron because they should be going back to the Palestinian leadership and criticize them for not sitting down at the negotiating table. People on the street yelling at Israel. Again, idiots. They should be yelling at Palestinian leadership for not being reasonable and refusing to negotiate.
Make two states. Everybody compromises to some extent. Then the palestinians will have a country of their own, they won't need to be freed, and every Palestinian living in Israel, can also leave to the new country if they choose to.

Systemic Racism: What’s Your View? Is it As Pervasive As Some Suggest?
by minimus inthe president of the united states says we have to do something about this.
many politicians and people agree that we are all affected by the scourge of systemic racism.
what’s your view of this?

I again was listening to a podcast today where this college professor was saying that systemic racism is a reality, while again not providing anything concrete that supports this.
Systemic racism should be the easiest thing in the world to resolve. It should take no more than a few months, because laws and policies are fairly easy to change. What is not easy to change is racism because it lives in the minds of people and that you cannot change via legislation.

Their definition is different than your definition
Well I really don't care if they have come up with their own definition, just as I don't care if they come with with their own definition of the law of gravity.
Systemic racist is the concept that I have explained, and it doesn't exist. As I mentioned shifting the goal posts by pretending systemic racism is something different is intellectually dishonest.
It's just as silly as when people try to assert that god exists, by saying that God is all of the love in the world.

There is no systemic racism in the US.
The concept is basically that if you pressed a button and magically all of the racists in the world disappeared, the system would continue to be racist only for its laws and policies.
So which laws and policies are overtly racist? Nobody ever is able to point any out, so this term is just used because it's trendy but nobody can ever point anything that needs to be fixed.
Now, decades ago we did have systemic racism. The laws openly prevented minorities to do a variety of things. No longer the case.
Sometimes people shift the goal posts, to try to say that if the outcome is different, then it's systemic racism. But the concept is unrelated to outcome, because outcome is not really only dependent only on laws and policies.

Over population
by mickbobcat inso i see some very counter intuitive videos on how there is no over population issue.
that the world will grow to about 11 billion and stop.
well that would be the first time in human history that population just stopped.

What makes you think it is unsustainable to have 11B people?
Good grief, even as we burn our rainforests to make room for grain, as we expect meat production to have to increase by 100% soon, deplete our oceans of fish, continue to back wildlife into smaller reservations as we flatten forests to build housing, have entire islands of floating plastic in our oceans, along any other of 1000 ways we our hurting our home, some folks will never be convinced.
We have lots of fossil fuels to burn, and we can produce lots of food, therefore all is well folks
China just announced they eradicated poverty and India isn’t far behind
What fine examples of how overpopulation is no biggie. A country full of slums where people shit in open air, and the biggest polluter in the world where masks were common even before COVID.

Derek Chauvin - The Right to a Fair Trial
by Simon inanyone following the derek chauvin trial?.
if you are actually following it, not just listening to the media, you will likely realize that there is a huge gap between what is going on in court and what is being reported in the media.. if the trial was fair, i think he should be acquitted.
there is plenty of reasonable doubt about the cause of death (his dealer doesn't want to testify because he could be guilty of 3rd degree murder for selling him a fatal amount of fentanyl) and even doubt over whether the officer even had his knee on the guys neck or did anything counter to what they were meant to do as per policy.. but is it fair?

btw, you have to love these prosecutors patting themselves on the back for getting a guilty verdict.
I'm pretty sure I could prosecute this case and get a guilty verdict. In fact, I think the jurors went into this thinking guilty even before it started.

Ahh yes, the elephant in the room. Nobody wants to talk about it. Go to any party and listen to anybody say how they have 4, 5 kids and people will congratulate them in happiness. Not me, I look at them and think how irresponsible they are.
Sure 11 billion people would probably be fine if people lived off growing veggies in their backyard and raised chickens and rabbits. But this is 2021, and each one of us have a gigantic footprint on the planet, with our ipads, flights, gadgets, clothes, copious amounts of food, etc.
I would guess to say that even 3 billion would be probably more than the ideal number, considering the amount of stuff we need.
I suspect the planet at some point will remind us of what are continue to ignore.
