Trump has a decent chance of winning for 2 reasons. First because Biden is a terrible candidate. He can't keep it together and I suspect that he will do pretty poorly during debates. Second because this whole riots and anti-police rhetoric has created this feeling in the voter base that democrats don't have the moral grit to push back against the mobs and that at least trump will continue to support the rule of law.

The minute Biden enters a podium and thereby the media spotlight, the real numbers will start coming in.
I'm afraid Biden will not be able to hold his own in a debate. Pretty sure Trump will roll all over him. We will all cringe to see Biden in confused daze tripping all over his words.
The only shot that Biden has is if he picks a very decent mate, and even then, at this point I just don't see him winning.

I will not vote for Trump, but I believe that Trump has best shot to win in this present moment than he had 3 months ago.
The state of the economy due to the virus presented a real problem for him, but this lunacy of anti-police rethoric, race baiting, oppression olympics and PC, has given him a real shot at a comfortable win.
It continues to amaze me how the left continues to shoot itself in the foot with it's own antics. It's so obvious that the key for the left to win is to steer just a bit towards the center, and yet it insists on aligning itself with the crazy fringes.

Evidently, tomorrow the world will be a better place because of this. The sad thing about this is the lack of backbone from the leadership in these companies. They are terrified that the mob will get from them, even if they are not justified in doing so.
All along, this has exactly the opposite effect in society at large who quietly look in disbelief, while tuning out of any shred of support for the calls of equality which otherwise their intuitions would align to.

Emergency COVID Ration Spam Fritters
by Simon inso as things are now opening up and food never ran out, i've been dipping into our emergency supplies.
they say that spam doesn't have a shelf-life, it has a half-life, but i kind of wanted to see if it was like i remembered as a kid.. as it turns out spam fritters are as delicious as i remember, probably better ('cause i did fancy ones).
i used this recipe and they were glorious.

Spam is good emergency food for protein. I would not make a habit of incorporating it on my diet otherwise.
I have built a shef unit in my basement where I've started to stockpile things that have shelf live, mostly canned food, but I actually don't have spam. I have tuna, salmon, sardines, beans, corn, and several other things. But I will probably also buy some spam and keep several around.
It's only a matter of time until the next event happens and this is the time to stock up on things while they are available. I have thought of buying a dehydrator to store some fruits and vegetables as well.

I don’t believe anyone is privileged. The reason can be seen in siblings coming from the same family. Some have economic success. Others don’t fare so well. Why is that?
So just because there are cases where some people are not able to make use of what they have going for them, that means they never had an advantage?
If you and I are running the 100 meter dash, and I start 10 meters ahead of you, but you have worked out and watched you diet, and ended up passing me and won, this mean I didn't have an advantage to begin with?

Privilege is a multi dimensional phenomenon. Every person has some sort of privilege compared to other folks. It's not white vs black.
Blacks have an advantage for playing in the NBA, or Football. They are most likely to succeed as a rapper and many other things.
Likewise a white upper middle class kid with a stable family probably has an advantage in some sense of having parents that prioritize education and career mindset. Are there more white folks in middle class? Yes, but so what? that has hundreds of years in the making.Bill Gates' kids have an advantage over countless people, but so do Denzel Washington's kids. If you are poor black person with nearly nothing living in Detroid, you have an advantage over a black kid growing up in a village in Somalia.
You can't regulate advantage. The only thing you can regulate is to have a framework of laws that gives the same opportunity to people.

It took about 372 years for that change to take effect and another 99 years for the Civil Rights act to be signed.
Change takes time...that's exactly my point. Whatever change happened was done by addressing the problem as a whole. BLM is for all intents and purposes an anti-police movement, in the same vein as Occupy Wallstreet and similar anti establishment groups.
But you deflected the question (don't think I didn't notice). I'm not asking if BLM has saved the world. I'm asking what is BLM doing in that space to effect change, aside from waiting for the next black person to die in police custody?

the statement seems to suggest that they want to deal with the issues/practice of absent "men/fathers" that pushes black women to work "double shifts" in order to care of their children.
What is wrong with that?Nothing, but those are just words that sound nice. Now, BLM has been around for 7 years, so what exactly has been done in this space?
