I think it would interesting to compare the number of black men shot by police to the number of black men shot by other black men.

Well the number of unarmed black men killed by police last year was 9. Some accounts put the number at 14. Let's just say it's 14.... You can easily get that number in a weekend in a major US city, so it's not even a comparison.

The reality is that our society needs to be able to absorb that number. That number will NEVER be zero. It can't be. There are 50 million interaction between police and civilians a years. A small percentage will go very bad and that's just part of normal chaos. We absorb a small number of deaths on everything else that can go wrong, and we need to do the same here.

The media is making this impossible. Imagine for example that Anderson Cooper got on TV every night and reported names and numbers of people that are killed each day due to screw ups by doctors (100,000 + annually). Imagine that, names, personal stories, picture of the doctor that messed up, total count of people dead up to that point. It would be declared a national emergency, there would protests, hospitals burned, doctor hunted down, etc.

The media sets the temperature of the country and they are doing a terrible thing here.

Does Anybody Here Sympathize With The Looters That Cause Destruction?

i realize some here are diehard democrats.

whether you are democrat, republican or independent, do you support any of these looters that cause mayhem and destruction for their cause?

i have heard some people sympathize with these law breakers saying they understand why they do what they do and leave it at that.. of course i wonder how they would feel if their own property was burnt or stolen or destroyed..

I can't begin to imagine how a feeling of cultural second class citizenry would make me perceive the world and feel towards it. Perhaps I would be compelled to cause property destruction to express my frustration and to have my voice heard.

So if there is stereotype towards black people and their association with crime, and the resulting increased interactions with police, and the resulting disproportional incarceration rate, it's logical to reinforce that stereotype by further committing criminal acts against completely innocent people?

Hardly seems logical. How is that perceived by the rest of the population and what does it do to the reputation of black folks?

Also considering that a large portion of those destroying is white, what does it say about the real motivation behind this?

Curiously, many of the black folks who are exhibiting token rage in support of black lives in their communities, will look the other way as their brothers and sisters get slaughtered by street crime. Children routinely get killed as a byproduct of street crime, yet no outrage. Where is the consistency? and again how is that interpreted by the rest of population as they see this duality of criteria (hipocrisy)?

Nothing you stated about Breonna Taylor has "come out". If it is truth, then it would be out by now
especially to defend the soft-on-crime DA.
The facts, if you care for them, are that the warrant was to find drugs based on Breonna Taylor's ex boyfriend who no longer resided at the house. She was with a new boyfriend who legally carries.
The fact is, no drugs were found in the house of a gainfully employed EMS. The initial charges against the boyfriend are dropped, because his shoot was a good shoot in self-defense. There weren't even any drugs planted to support the claim.

Sure, but again, where is the murder here? In other words, the police have a warrant to execute. They go in the house, the bf grabs a gun (even if with good intentions), which leads to a shootout, where one of the bullets hits Taylor. If that is murder, then we have lost all sense on what murder is. This is obviously an accidental death.

These types of cases, need to be dealt in civil court where the family can get compensated. Taylor is not the first innocent accidental victim to die in an exchange of gunfire between the police and a civilian and clearly won't be the last. Shit happens

If I were one of Biden's handlers, I would make up whatever excuses not to debate.

I just don't think he'll be able to swing that. In any case, I believe Biden already committed himself to 3 debates.

Pretty sure the Biden handlers will coach Joe to death in order to mitigate the debacle. These debates are going to get huge audiences and if Joe has one of his cringe-worthy moments it might mean a huge hit at the polls. I think Biden will crash and burn during the debates.

There was no Adam, and no Eve. And the fact the character Jesus believed they existed shows that Jesus is also made up by the same people who made up the story of creation, or that Jesus was just yet another clueless hippie who didn't know a thing.

i sat in recently with some relatives for the sunday meeting.

the talk was given by a bethel speaker, who at one point quoted john 20:25.

“but he said to them: “unless i see in his hands the print of the nails and stick my finger into the print of the nails and stick my hand into his side, i will never believe it.”.

. Remember this was from a guy who had been significantly beaten, which would of made carrying a pole heavy enough a support his under his arm almost impossible.

Yup, and what sense would it make for a criminal to carry perhaps a 10 foot stake to his execution? Then what? They spend the next hour digging a hole? Then nail a person to the stake, try to balance it while filling the hole around the stake, while making sure it's upright? Then removing the stake so the next criminal does it again. No way this happened.

It's so obvious that the stake was permanently placed, an what the criminals carried was the cross bar, which yes would then be lifted along with the criminal and hung on the stake. The stake remains for the next one. Now THAT makes sense.

JW's and the National Anthem/Flag

one thing we were always taught in the past is how we should sit down and pray (kneel) to jehoober whenever we were at an event where they played the national anthem.

we had to actively disrespect the flag and anthem and be no part of the world, because we were our own country with jesus as king.. given kneeling/sitting for the national anthem is now the favorite pastime of the far-left and if you do so, you get associated with democrats, how do jehovah's witnesses now 'become no part of this world' when they have to disrespect the flag?.

I remember being a JW and going to a few games with fellow cult members, and once the national anthem started playing, our group keeping our hats on and staying seated, while the folks around us looked on with disgust and often with snarky remarks directed at us.

I never liked that. I always wanted to show respect but just had to go with the program.

Well we know it will be a black woman, and this a clear indication of how idiotic American society is, where candidates have zero expectations for the intellect of Americans. After all he thinks a black woman will get votes from women and from blacks just because of what she is. Sadly, he's probably right.

It could well be that the VP pick might be important here, because Joe is almost 80. There is a chance that his pick might actually be President. From my side, I've been leaning on not voting at all. I won't vote for Trump, and I really dont want to vote for Biden + a radical leftist. Hope he chooses a centrist.

i just put on the pro-trump fox news and even they are saying ... oooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.. this is really scary.

To be fair, the Latin sentence structure of the Second Amendment is confusing to some people, so their position strikes me more as inaccurate / incorrect / untenable / erroneous than unconstitutional.
But that's just me

Who gives a shit. It's really stupid this idea that we need to parse and decipher words written by men hundreds of years ago who knew way less that we do, as if they were Moses walking down the mountain with tablets.

These were MEN. We should be able to decide on our own what exactly is better for our country today without worrying what some guys thought was right that long ago.
