My JW Brother-in-Law's Crisis of Conscience
by arko_n9ne inme and my brother in law share a computer at home.
we have different accounts and for the life of me, i still don't know his password.. but it hasn't stopped me from putting "apostate" literature on his desktop screen.
i am an amateur it geek who knows the ins and outs of computers, so i don't look twice at things like passwords.. anyway, a few months ago, i slipped three files onto his desktop.

Acts 17, where's the organization, guys?!
by arko_n9ne ini was listening to the radio today.
kdkr dallas.
they were playing a q&a with ravi zacharias and he pointed out a passage in acts 17 that i was unfamiliar with, but it rung some bells in my head.. acts 17:24,25 (nwt): "the god that made the world and all the things in it, being, as this one is, lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade temples, neither is he attended to by human hands as if he needed anything, because he himself gives to all [persons] life and breath and all things.".

I was listening to the radio today. KDKR Dallas. They were playing a Q&A with Ravi Zacharias and he pointed out a passage in Acts 17 that I was unfamiliar with, but it rung some bells in my head.
Acts 17:24,25 (NWT): " The God that made the world and all the things in it, being, as this One is, Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in handmade temples, neither is he attended to by human hands as if he needed anything, because he himself gives to all [persons] life and breath and all things."
Something...about this...is odd.
The meaning behind the passage is that Paul finds idolatry detestable and it telling them that God the Creater is one, not many. He doesn't live in a lavish building. And He isn't taking your offerings of food and sacrifice. He is the maker. He doesn't want anything from us He made.
But at the same time, it's ground-breaking in it's very wording. He does not dwell in manmade temples, so the necessity to attend the Kingdom Hall (or any church) is not for finding Him. He doesn't live there. He is above all, delivering His Word. You find God in His Word.
And in His Word, at what is called Acts 17:25, "neither is he attended (served, worshipped) to by human hands as if he needed anything. The concept of serving Him through an Organization is unscriptural. The Lord doesn't need an organization. His Word is available to the masses. Before the printing press, it was scrolls and leaf. Before that, His Word was on stone. Before that, His Word was word of mouth.
When you take into the account of a global resurrection and the opportunity for those who did not know God to truly KNOW God, the current idea of preaching His Word to the world isn't the big picture. It's not necessary. Not if most everyone gets a second chance to learn His Word (or a first in most cases).
Regardless of the double talk, why is it that Acts 17:24,25 are untouched by the WTS? Why are there so many passages in the NWT that remain coherent enough to break the temple of false gods that is the Organization?

Circuit Leasing selling on JW.ORG ????
by yknot inso i was poking around jw.org a lil recently...... noticed this advertisement was still present in the 'privileged' section (ie you gotta have login access).
this was posted on jw.org a little over a year ago (as shown in pic) but since it is still viewable......figured it is fair-game for jwn fodder.
thoughts?????.

@sooner7nc lmao to the sadness of the reality. how many cars are named after something pagan or unchristian? Isn't it ironic/hypocritical for a JW to ride around in a Taurus?
@outlaw do you have a terabit hd for all those pics? you must have raped the hell out of your clipart when you first got it. lol
@yknot why does the reader have to "discreetly" pass on that information? If they were discreet with those conditions for purchase, they won't get too many buyers. I imagine an overseer car to smell like leather and rubbing alcohol. Anyone else get that feeling?
Honestly, I love me a '67 Chevy Impala, but if the WTS was selling one in mint condition for any price, I'd tell them to "gfts." Imagine not being brainwashed and offering money to this corporate real estate scam.

Does Jehovah Still Call Black People the "No-No" Word?
by arko_n9ne ini feel the title is an attention-grabber, but in no means am i looking to start racial tension on jwn.. i know in the past, at least to the 50's from what i've read, the watchtower society has been very demeaning toward people of a less alabaster pigment.
in one instance saying white people were superior and god blessed them that way for good reason.. however, i have not been able to find an official statement from them in any of their printed works that either clears up or apologizes and further corrects that bold standing.. so, to those much wiser than me, is there an official statement from the watchtower identifying people of different race as equal?
and if not, to the ex/current brothers and sisters who are of an "ethnic" background, what are your feelings on the society's derrogatory statements being left unchanged 60-100 years later?.

Getting Ready to Go To War
by arko_n9ne inthis whole thing of jehovah's witnesses--it's not my war.

This whole thing of Jehovah's Witnesses--it's not my war. But that doesn't mean a soldier doesn't have a part in it.
I live with my wife and her two brothers (for those who need the refresher course in arkonomics) and the brothers, being Witnesses, tend to be real P's in my A. You ever been talked down to by a Star Trek geek? He gets all smug because he can speak Klingon and "relate" negative Star Trek events to you? As smug as he is, you don't know what he's even talking about because he's only smart and clever in Captain Kirk's world. Not the real world.
*Go Star Wars!*
That's what it's like with these two. Every day. For the last 4 and a half years. They won't give you a straight answer on non-biblical items because they are part of the 99% of Witnesses who think "theocratic warfare" extends to non-Jehovah related facets of life. I'm not kidding about this example:
In early October 2011, I was in the next room over when my sister in law told the younger brother she was moving out at the end of the month. My wife and I were living in the smallest bedroom in the house and we were going to move to her room (the largest) when she left. I knocked on his door (right across the hall from her room) and asked if he could help me move the heavy stuff down the stairs. He asked why.
"We're getting your sister's room when she moves."
"She's moving?"
"You didn't know?" I asked sardonically.
"No, when is she moving?"
Case in point, he had no reason to lie about knowing that, but he is so hardwired into lying to anyone outside the "truth" that he lies needlessly. His older brother is no better. He lies when you have pictures and video evidence.
They are both extraordinarily lazy. The older brother works part time and spends his free time playing video games or sleeping. He spends 6 to 16 hours a day on video games, depending when he has work.
The younger brother does nothing. He goes to work and comes home, where he stays in his room for the entire day, save for using the restroom. If he's not in his room, which is rare, he's out pretending he's a good little Witness.
But he's not. And I have proof. Photos. Videos. So much more.
His older brother has some of the darkest shadows covering the countless skeletons in his closet. I've got photos. Emails. Screen captures. Letters. And again, so much more.
Their mother has seen how lazy they are here, and is arranging to have their elders make an appearance at this house to talk to the younger brother about his laziness. By the time they get here, they will be talking to both.
I'm aware of their stance on believing anything a "non-believer" offers, but undisputable, (mostly) non-digital evidence is hard to ignore. I wish I could explain what I have on them, so you readers would have a clearer picture of the situation, but I can't. I cannot promise myself a df, but the weight of the evidence will merit strict discipline and that's good enough for me.
Because they are theocratic liars, my second wave in this war will be the use of a book I find to be astonishing in it's existence.
Kingdom Linear Translations
Why no one has told me about this book before is a complete mystery to me, but I enjoy its contents.
As far as I'm aware, the WTS has not backtracked any stance it has on the support of this book they made, which shows numerous discrepancies between the source material and the NWT.
To me, that's a heck of an artillery shell. When the Witness explains the discrepancies as "context" and "interpretation" it nulls the NWT into the Word of Man. Context is a man-made device. Interpretation is man-made as well. God is not the author of confusion. So He won't use vague or cryptic wording that can be "easily" misinterpreted. Taken out of context.Every theological discussion will be undeniable wave after wave of real truth, using the WTS' own translation of the greek texts.
I like pdf's, but I loooove hardcopy. Can't say "the apostate altered it," if it's a book from your own library.
My goal is knocking them down a peg or seven. They have become the Jewish authority of the New Testament. They are pharisees and hypocrites, looking down their nose at people who just can't stomach fallacy, though they themselves intentionally violate their own interpretation of the scriptures behind closed doors.
To quote Hot Shots Part Deux: "War. It's FANtastic."

Thank you @OnTheWayOut. Very much appreciated for the third-party opinion. It wasn't going to help to have two people at odds without someone watching from outside.
@Steve2
I want to apologize and explain my grievances. All I have in this world is my son, and my word. My son is untouchable by the world and has no bearing on my issues at home. So on JWN, all that I have is my word. And you sought to discredit me for some reason and that meant attacking the only thing I have outside of my kid.
I stand by my claim that I feel you were "being a colossal turd to me." As you saw in my last post, I don't like accusations when they aren't true. And I've received several untrue accusations from you on top of trying to discredit me. And I can't get over myself enough to let that go without trying to systematically tear down anyone I feel is an attacker. My responses ARE bold. They ARE aggressive and raged. But again, that goes back to that personal information that you chided me for.
I live with two Jehovah's Witnesses and my wife (their sister, never been a JW). Six months ago, I'd been living with five JWs for four years. Every one of them critical and obnoxious with their heads so far up their butts. In 2004, I didn't know what a Jehovah's Witness was. By 2008, I was living with them because my wife had me leave a high-paying job. 2009, I found out about the irregularities in the concept of refusing transfusions. It was my first scandal I'd ever heard of. Only a month ago, I joined JWN and found literal scores of information I never knew.
This was supposed to be the place for me to vent my JW frustrations. Otherwise, who'll hear it? Witnesses? Can't vent to my wife because it'll be seen as complaining about her family. This felt so very much like it could be a new home to me.
And then the accusations. And then the misunderstandings.
I didn't handle this as properly as it should have been. I probably could have been more private in our back and forth. Anger issues make me want to try to destroy an attacker in public. It's not healthy.
As for your posting replies on my topics, I honestly want your replies. I've seen that you are educated in these matters, much more than myself. I've seen how productive and informed you are in other people's posts. Just...I'm not a bad person in any standing of the word. If something I write doesn't resonate with you, please, read it a second time. If you came to the same conclusion, it's more than likely the tone I went for. So call me out then, if you feel it's necessary.
Going forward with that advice, if there is a reply from you that may offend me, I will understand how you came to your conclusions. I will formulate my opinions or counter points. And I will politely send them in a PM to you for further discussion, so I'm not tearing my shirt off in the JWN forums, dancing around like a chimp.

@Steve2
You have been insulting me and talking down to me since my 3rd topic post (9th post altogether) and I had to do research on you because I couldn't understand why you're being a colossal turd to me.
So let me repeat something I said in reply to your first ingratiating response to my topic:
"if anyone thinks so then please send me an email with the congregation they go to and i will leave an apology with a vow to never reference people and experiences in the experiences section of the forums."
Well? It's been over a month. Where do they go?Let's share guideline 1 for posting on here, shall we? Please avoid "Insulting, threatening, or provoking language."
You're smart enough to know not to threaten someone because of the legal ramifications, let alone what will probably happen to your account. But you have been provoking me and insulting me almost every time you talk to me.Take a look at guideline 4: Please avoide "Breaking the law. This includes libel."
The definition of libel:
"libel (for written, broadcast, or otherwise published words)—is the communication of a statement that makes a claim, expressly stated or implied to be factual, that may give an individual, business, product, group, government, or nation a negative image. This can be also any disparaging statement made by one person about another, which is communicated or published."Are you seriously going to tell me that in this post and the Russian Government commentary that you never posted anything similar to the definition of libel?
I cannot understand why you are singling me out. I truly can't. I would love to see what responses you get in a topic post entitled "Why arko_n9ne bothers me." You have been the sole nay-sayer in the JWN Public's responses to my comments.
I took you back to gradeschool in our last go-around. Let's see if I can put you back in daycare.

Steve2 accuses me of:
"putting stuff on his (brother-in-law) desk top without his knowledge."Ryan Kent says:
"$2000 to the person who can quote me that I put these files on his desktop without his knowledge." I'll settle for "putting stuff on his desk top without his knowledge."This is a baseless, uninformed accusation. Putting stuff on his account desktop without his password does not indicate I did it without his knowledge. Nor have I used any words or wording to indicate as such. The closest would be the word "slipped," but in it's private sense, it means to pass something to someone secretly. Again, there is no admission or denial of my brother-in-law's knowledge. For all you and the World Wide Web are aware, he knows but I'm not making a spectacle about it.
You do not get to make any more false accusations about me @steve2.
_________________________________________________
Focusing on the other point of contention you have with my post:
@steve2 doesn't like that I'm:
"keeping a track of what he accesses."Ryan Kent says:
"Unless you are under my roof, are a friend of mine, have any idea of the goings on at this house, or see how the story unfolds, then you have no idea why I am keeping track of his actions on the computer."$500 to the one who can quote me on who this computer belongs to.
Extra money to the one who can quote why I am keeping track of my brother-in-law's activity.Steve2, you DON'T know the answer to either of those two questions, and because you decided to run your mouth to me on my 9th post, you won't know. Nor will others. I remember some guy who I never heard of using a screen handle that rhymes with "Leave You" talking down to me for posting personal details about others. Despite my challenge for this seemingly uptight individual to expose my error in posting those details, I was being mindful of what he asked of me.
I don't post intimate details when I write topics now. And now this same guy is making accusations about me, insulting me, based on what I wrote using the guidelines HE suggested.
________________________________________
I am new and you are established steve2. I got that. I also got from your treatment of me "once a Witness, always a Witness." You are condescending, judgemental, and factually inaccurate in undeserved accusations. I would hate to think that given time, most people on JWN will conform to your "once a Witness" attitude to newcomers.
Unlike you, I don't pass judgement until someone has wronged me. Your first contact with me was patronizing and judgemental. ANd those colors don't fly in my ocean. You have been making strident efforts to discredit me. Why? Only you and God know, but at this point, I don't care. You've been here since the end of 2004. I would have figured you'd realized after all these years that the only way to take someone down is with their own words. Your accusations don't match my words at all. Never have. Never will.
Instead, you resort to taking liberties (like the WTS) with sentences of mine and providing an empty meaning that suits your need (like the WTS). You (like the WTS) make efforts to dictate the way people talk and when they conform, you hang them with that rope (like the WTS). But with me, you need to have a few extra knots. I've got a thick neck and a heck of a backbone. I don't take well to what you're trying.
I will leave you with a quote from some random guy on here who seems to think this quote is clever enough for a t-shirt:
" the JWs wll love you because you are a perfect specimen of how they envisage opposers and/or apostates to be: Sensationalist and unbalanced" -steve2 (JWN Forum, Kelly Jarka Case pg2, 2012)
And I say that with alot of irony. So if you decide to reply, do understand that the next insult (which I avoided with you) or accusation (which I avoided with you), unless you can hang me with my words once and for all, I'll be sending a PM to the big boss.

i am equally disgusted with their treatment of women. i remember the back of a watchtower comparing women to antique lamps. it was trying to explain why women are not to be viewed with low regard. but the whole thing was just condescending to independent women.
but my question was whether or not the wts ever formally backtracked on the race issue like they did every time they failed in prophecies. i enjoy the stories as they help paint a picture of the wts over the years.
but still never got an answer...lol

by lilbluekitty ini'm copy/pasting this from the cd rom (i only have the 2008 one and older ones), watchtower 2/15/03.
i was browsing to refresh my memory what jws believe about who can partake of the memorial because the church i go to now has the lord's supper every sunday as part of their worship.
a person who truly has this calling does not need to ask others if he has such a hope.
