Think Mexicans in the US are like Eastern Europeans to the UK. All they want is to get out of the poverty trap that they are in. Wouldn't we all if we were there? Rich countries exploit poorer countries. People all over the globe are the same, they all want the same thing, no one is different. Many of these people from these poor countries work harder and take up jobs we hate doing ourselves. It doesn't make them worse people than we are.

Bizarre statement in April 2012 Awake
by dozy inas books go, it is tiny, but it is immeasurably great in its essence.
it can be carried in ones pocket, but if it were found in a library of 90,000 different books, it would probably turn out to be the most important one of them all.. wow a strong endorsement of the bible?
er no this is the wtbts we are talking about here.

Which generation do you belong to ?
by edmond dantes inask a witness which generation do you belong to and see if they really know how to answer.. i have decided that every time i hear a true definition of the meaning of a generation i will post it here just to reinforce the true meaning just in case a stray jw happens to look in on here.. yesterday evening i was watching an antiques programme on the television and under discussion was a very well made baby high chair from about the nineteen thirties and the approximate date of manufacture and the length of time it had been in the family.
the expert then went on to confim how old it was and in doing so said that considering who first purchased the chair and the length of a generation that it was from the thirties and went on to say that we consider a generation to be about 25 years.. that is a truer definition of a generation than a watchtower definition.. .

Next they are going to say that as it is 'just as in the days of Noah' then they will have to add 120 years to 1914. (Gen 6:3) That gives them another generation to play with....

Hahah! Love your humour Dozy (Typical Brit) LOL
"Perhaps asking the COBOE to take them with him on his annual holiday to Acapulco might now seem a useful move , bearing in mind the apparent reverence that the book has south of the Rio Grande."...... This made me laugh out loud..

"You should never look for/expect happiness in this world"
by ilikecheese inmy jw boyfriend says this all the time whenever i'm venting about life and some of its disappointments, career aspirations and how hard they are to make happen sometimes, problems with friends/family, or just random stuff that gets to me.
i'm not a negative person or anything; i only get moody occasionally.
i am a woman; it's kind of required.

Jojojunfan.. have you visited jwstruggle.com? It's a very good website to go to for someone in your situation. You can contact the brother who runs the site. He used to be an elder and had his own crisis of conscience. Many on the site are still 'in' but having a struggle like you.
I too read Ray Franz's books that you are reading and many others have too. You are not alone!!

Does anybody still believe in God and the Bible?
by tornapart ini just want to know out of interest how many here still believe in god and christ and that the bible is god's word.
my faith in the wts is gone but i still love god and his son.
i've noticed that many here have lost their faith in god as well as the wts.

So right Cantleave! There is nothing worse than being told what you must think, what you must believe. So it's important to keep questioning ourselves and what we do believe and to feel happy with with our conclusions but still open to new thoughts and ideas. What I have seen on here so far is that everyone (or almost everyone) has started from the same place. Within the WTS... but everyone has been on their own voyage of discovery and everyone has ended up in a different place. Some similar but no one exact.

At the end of the day we all have one eventuality. We all die. Maybe after we die we'll find out one way or the other. For those that don't believe anymore and it turns out they are right then no one will ever really know. But if those that do believe and they are right then everyone will know. LOL
Sorry for my out of the box thinking. It's just that whether we choose to believe or not it's important that we don't try and force someone else one way or the other to believe the same as we do. After all isn't that what we ALL rebelled against? Being told what we should believe and not believe?
FREEDOM... that's what it's all about. Freedom to choose, freedom to live, freedom to love.
