  “Allow me to put my notes aside…” (1975 DO talk)

  i remember years ago hearing an audio recording online of a district overseer talk regarding 1975. he said something along the lines of “allow me to put my notes aside” and then went off about how the end was coming in 1975. does anyone remember this?

  or know where i can find a recording of this talk?.

  So nothing official yet regarding 1914

  i suspect a real change to come yet, beards were just house cleaning. But not reporting time is setting the stage for something more

  I suspect a shift in how preaching happens

  i also suspect a further distancing of 1914 from the realm of any real significance to jw doctrine

  Anthony Moriss nervous breakdowns and Bethel stress!

  so karl klien of the governing body gave his life story in the watchtower talking about his stress, nervous breakdowns and pressure to take the lead.

  it was aweful.

  maybe anthony had the same problem..

  So there are no facts yet surrounding his removal, just aimless speculation about mental breakdown, hubris and alcohol?

  Anyone get the feeling that the cult is really in trouble.

  so all the bs and hyperbole aside, to me it really looks like the cult is in trouble.

  shrinking member, selling halls.

  the move to televangelism is really strange to me.

  They are just fine and aren’t going anywhere

  it’s easier to be a witness now than anytime in history, almost mainstream

  You can wish it away all you want, they aren’t going anywhere anytime soon

  Drinking expensive drinks - seriously looked down upon as a JW

  i remember when i was a jw, drinking a good wine or other liquor was looked down upon.

  it’s better to put that money towards the worldwide work donations i always got told.

  so the best thing i ever got was johnny walker red back then (johnny walker is cheap blend).

  Some congregations in hick towns can be this way but most are not

  i actually live in an area where good alcohol and fine food is appreciated. Dinners at families homes are usually indulgent. I like where I live

  where I grew up now that’s a different story. Everyone were cheapskates
