when you are coming in they pretty much analyze your prayers like a talk...

I don't recall any outlandish statements of this magnitude/subject regarding the "do's and dont's" of prayer.
I do!!

Is this a new low?
by Darth Eowyn injust had a couple of jws stop by my house.
they had been before several times and know that i'm a pretty devout catholic, so i'm sure they were just swinging by to get more time for the card.. well, this time the opening line was about the tragedy in ct. i mean, really?
you're going to try to get converts by capitalizing on this tragedy?

I was going door to door when space shuttle Challenger exploded..
people came to the door crying...
everyone was listening to us, thanking us for the visit,
we thought we were making a difference..
It was like awesome day in service...
nothing new here.. with this recent deal

Which logical fallacy is being used here by this Jehovah's Witness responder?
by I_love_Jeff inhttp://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=ajkx.ygxlhrevzucyabujrpty6ix;_ylv=3?qid=20121217130952aak8l6h.
the responder is bar-anerges (a popular jw responder on ya) and he is using a common fallacy or perhaps more than one in his response to the question.
will someone please assist me in narrowing down which one/s he may be using.

So the fact remains, Witnesses do not avoid answering any question no matter how "difficult." We just avoid perverse and slanderous individuals who have proved themselves to be vile apostates
translation.. any thing we don't want to answer is apostate

Do Witnesses Ever Talk About Their Living Forever And Never Dying?
by minimus inmy 86 year old mother stopped believing she was going into paradise earth without dying first, about 10 years ago.
my aunt used to think she was going to make it through the great tribulation.
even a week before she died, she clung on to this fairy tale.. do you think jws believe they will never die at all and will, in their lifetime, be on a paradise earth to live forever?.

It's kinda of a big deal for them .. cuz if they get resurected.... they wouldn't have had to go out in service... and could have had some fun..
Didn't anyone else see this flaw in the Living Forever Gamble of your life

Because when it comes to non JW's, they don't give a damn. That's why they locked the doors after 911
or jw 's.. .
have they said any thing on the bus crash?

When you were a jw....Christmas day...
by carla inwhen you were a jw did you get together with family or other jw's on christmas day?
most people have off so it would be convenient.
in my mind, if you got together with family or jw's shared a meal or drinks, perhaps watched a movie or played games you did celebrate the day.

and when I wasn't... Christmas day was exactly like any other day... just a day.

Requalifying as an Elder
by alfredjones100 ini'd like to throw something out to the exelders.. over the years since i stepped down as an elder, my dislike for the society and its ways has clearly grown.. but my love for the bible and my family and friends in the congregation has not got less.. i feel sorry that they are not mature enough to grasp the concept that you dont need the society to make god happy.. so i have been thinking ( and its just a crazy thought at the moment ) to requalify as an elder and to begin to really teach the truth.. to really challenge their thinking and take my talks to the limit without getting busted as a heretic.. whats youre thought?.

I was thinking of going in and overtly worshiping the governing body till it is so sickening that, "they" have to talk you down ... or is that even possible
