From Reddit…What rumors were reported about you after you stopped attending meeting?
by Biahi ini didn’t hear any about me, my dad was there to squash any of that.
but, a guy who left on his 18th birthday, moved cross country, had the rumor started (by elders), that he was now in prison for selling cocaine.
lol, he’s an artist in california.

I love this!
I also thought it was interesting that they could also choose to stay with their master if they loved him, and in that case they would be stuck with that decision (if memory serves me correctly)
Thats what happens with baptism - no matter how young or naive you were, its an "awl" through the ear

For Witnesses Who Want To Leave Fade, Disassociate or Get Disfellowshipped?
by minimus inmy opinion is if possible fading is the best way to go..
-

Ive tried fading for ten years almost.
Finally DA'ed yesterday. Im grieving, but no regrets. I have children to set an example for.
I agree that it all depends on your situation.

I think Splane is the Cult Leader. And I think there are more apostates working on the inside than we can imagine.
by pistolpete inso in the latest leaked video, splane goes on this crazy delusional rant about how faithful witnesses should never research their faith.. he criticizes the worldly court system and says they are not fair toward witnesses and the organization.
he says the court system is rigged and witnesses who get convicted, (implied child sex abusers) are innocent.
he is literally trying to justify child molesters and elders who cover them, as good people in "god's eyes" even though "human authorities" may judge them and put them in jail.

I just watched the video late last night after sending my DA letter to our COBE! It was strangely comforting. Unfortunately my parents take it hook line and sinker.
I really hope the GB are arrested and headquarters are raided for every bit of evidence there is against them. They are reprehensible for what they have done to innocent people, including the JWs still PIMI. The rank and file are innocent and suffering for following these men who have a cushy life.

No dating before youre actually ready for marriage (but it's ok to get baptised well before adulthood), no nightclubs, no military service or celebrating memorial days for veterans, no gambling, even in charity raffles, no singing the national anthem, no celebrating political victories even for things like the abolishment of slavery, no involvement in any kind of protesting/advocacy, no feminism! No rude/dirty jokes, no flirting, don't even think about someone in a sexual way if they're not your spouse, if you're a wife be quiet and mild and happy to serve, if you must have an opinion be very very calm and quiet about lest you overwhelm your poor husband and make him feel inadequate. No attending any worldly gatherings, don't let your kids associate with kids who aren't JW, membership to sports teams discouraged because of unnecessary bad association and you might get too competitive (god forbid!) and distracted from spiritual activities. When planning your education, think about jobs that you can ideally do part time to support your career of pioneering or being a "need greater", or going to Bethel. Don't follow your interests and passions too much because they could distract from the BEST LIFE EVER.
Im sure I could go on but I'm getting annoyed.....

So What Do Jehovah’s Witnesses Do Now?

they don’t go to assemblies.
they don’t go to meetings.

Zoom meetings, telephone and letter witnessing. Lots of text messaging. Were not in full lockdown where I live in Aus, but they're not going back to khall meetings or face to face witnessing for a while yet. One thing they've got right is not being complacent.
Zoom meetings make it soooo easy to fade. Video off, attendance logged, and leave it in another room while I do whatever else needs doing around the house.

My letter of disassociation, what do you think?
by James Jack indear brothers, july 27, 2020. in 1919, the president of the watchtower society made a bold prediction, “millions now living will never die”.
that quotation was constantly repeated by the organization till the year 2000 when they realized that everyone in attendance at that assembly, who listened to j.r. rutherford repeat those words, are dead.. that teaching has guided my life.
statements were repeatedly made at assemblies, conventions and in print that there was no career in “this system of things” so you don’t need a job with benefits or retirement, your fulltime job is to “preach the good news”!

Zoom meetings, how long ?
by Phizzy ini was wondering two things, 1: how long in total are the zoom meetings, i presume the sunday one is the longest ?.
and 2: if you use zoom for free, the session only lasts 40 minutes, so do they have an intermission so people can log back in, or are all jw's expected to pay for the "privilege" ?.
