Good for you! They only have power over you if you give it to them.
Wishing you all the best!
9 days to go until i hand my d'a letter in.
its extremely short, as in one sentence long.
i'm not giving them a reason coz i don't need to coz it's my life and my choice and i don't have to answer to the boe or gb.

i know this is kind of trivial but i don’t want to partake in something that might have connections with something that jehovah disapproves of.
i checked the watchtower library and i didn’t find anything on gingerbread man cookies.. .
good lord...how incredibly stupid and helpless are jdubs getting?
Good lord...how incredibly stupid and helpless are JDubs getting? I know...I know. I was there once too. Never able to use the God given ability to reason for myself!
Hahaha! I can just imagine the panic:
"OMG! OMG! Gingerbread men! I don't know what to do about them! Do I eat it? Do I burn it with fire? What if they're in the coffee room at work? Help me, Governing Body! You're my only hope!"
something just dawned on me today as i processed my assimilation into the real world (thanks to our new poster, @jester, giving me a major throwback to my first post).. when you're a jehovah's witness, you really are in some sort of la la land.
things which are perfectly normal are acts of eating from the table of the demons.
things which are horribly grotesque and extremely unjust are branded as "righteousness".
The entire set up demotes us human beings as some scummy slaves who need to EARN their right to open their mouths when in the presence of others.
Unless you're a female, then you NEVER get that right.
Good post
2 pioneers of the opposite sex.
the brother is in his mid-20s, sister is in her late 20s.
both are alone in car as the only 2 out in field service.
Newly married young JW couple in their early 20's, she gets pregnant right away. They move in with her parents to save up some money and the young JW husband/soon-to-be father starts banging his pregnant wife's 13 year old sister. The police are never called.
The husband and the 13 year old are both DF'ed. The preggo wife has the baby, then starts banging a different married man in the congregation. They get caught, both are DF'ed and she is reinstated in 3 months. He gets reinstated in about a year, they get married and the whole congregation goes to the "wedding".
so this is just a general question.
call it curiosity.. what sort of phobias do we have?
heights?
Definitely spiders.
I once tried to jump out of a moving vehicle because a large Jamaican spider crawled out from under the visor and made it's way to the backseat where I was.
Fortunately I was with freinds who restrained me.

the disgusting is reached - not only had her parents driven her away, she committed suicide and her exclusion is announced after her death, which means that she was ostracized by all and it will be said that this sect is a spiritual paradise.
.
"....no natural affection."
i found a very convincing youtube video showing that jehovah of the old testament is satan and the god of the new testament is god the father.. https://youtu.be/-eyp4n0xkxk.
There's a good book on this, too: "Jehovah Unmasked" by Nathaniel Merritt.
my freind (who is also out) and i were talking about this the other night.
i was a born-in, 3rd generation jw and she converted when she was in her late 20's.. when she left, she said that she knew the world wasn't as bad as she was told as a jw, so she knew she would be fine.
also, she still had lots of "worldly" family who welcomed her back with open arms.. it was harder for me - i had nobody in the "world", no family or freinds.
Not true. I became a Witness as an adult and started a family. After realizing it was a cult I wanted to leave WITH MY FAMILY. I actually spent six or seven years trying to figure out how to get all of us out of the cult together.
It didn't work.
I left. They stayed and all of them shun me.
Oh, I'm so sorry to hear that. I was able to get out with my children, I imagine leaving without them is the ultimate pain.
You all make good points. My freind (who converted in her 20's) found it harder to get mentally free than I did. And she helped me get physically free. We've been able to help each other a lot, I think because we each make up for what the other lacks in strength.

We both agreed it is a bit harder for Born-Ins to leave. Although it is hard, no matter who you are.
What do you think?
i've seen comments by some on leah's expose on scientology: aftermath.
she actually won an emmy for this show.
rumor is that she might take on jehovah's witnesses in season 3. .
JW's might not have compounds where they imprison and torture members who want to leave like Scientology does, but I think the mental and emotional manipulation/abuse to JW's is just as bad as in Scientology.
I think Leah will find plenty of content to do a series on JW's.
