@ XBEHERE - Yep, they tell them don't do this, don't do that, but they provide no alternatives.

Don't get involved in sports, but they substitute that with nothing.
Don't go to prom, but there are no alternative ways for young people to interaction in a positive way. Heck, they even badger them about congregating after the meeting if they are not talking about Jehovah.
Don't get involved with activity or social clubs at school, but nothing is formed to offer them a way to have that same positive experience within the organization
You are not allowed to have any special interest (music, dance classes, cheerleading, etc.) because that would take time away from studying and going out in field circus. You will be blame for calling too much attention to yourself and not putting Jehovah first because God forbid you try to outshine the organization and it's message by calling attention to any special talent YOU possess.
Don't try to prepare young people for higher education or to have any kind of career goals, don't even prepare them for the ever changing and challenging work environment young adults are forced to navigate to earn a living.

This list can go and go. Kids coming out of this cult or lost and suffering behind the asinine decisions of their parents and this diabolical organization.

being a fair-minded and loving person i've decided to ignore the secret nature of those proceedings and simply accept blindly that you are in the wrong without hearing your side of it.

Then to add insult to injury, my sister who is a JW crashdummy had the nerve to call my son after the funeral and tell him that I should not be talking to her daughters because I'm disfellowshipped. They just happen to be a the funeral, but I was not there for them. My sister is just crazy and completely dysfunctional. Her being a witness has made her even more insane. She get crazier and crazier the deeper she roots herself into that cult. She uses the cult to control the people around her just like they control her.

My son was just as outraged as I was and he quickly exited (like I did) after the service, so no one would try to give us the 'come back to the hall' jargon.

I wanted to comfort the sister who lost her son, so bad (because she really is a sweet person) but I knew since I was D'f'd, I don't know how she would have handled it. Maybe between all the grief she would have forgotten protocol and spoke, since we use to be close. I just handed one of her relatives the sympathy card I brought for the family and left, I felt that was best.

The mother was just racked with grief, I could tell she was just broken down, my heart just fell, I knew if I didn't get out of there, I would break down as well. It was a very painful and sorrowful moment.

@ Jomavrick - Yes,they did the same thing at my mother's service (who was also a life-long JW). Fortunately there were more people who knew and cared about my mom, then not. But here was some of those mixed in as well and I was soooo close to cursing them out that day!!!

I really feel for this young man, because he was a decent kid. A lot of people tired to talk to him but he was headed for trouble real fast.

So many of the kids that left the hall (I feel) did not have the support that they needed within the organization, no youth groups, no positive alternatives offered to them so they would stay away from the wrong elements. No trips for the kids, activities, career / computer training, sports, dances, nothing. You beat them over the head about staying out of the world, but the Borg offers them nothing, no alternatives. All the millions of dollars they store up in that f-ing Brooklyn tower in the sky and they don't invest a dime in the youth, nothing! All the KH offers is weekly guilt-trip sessions to push magazines and books for the Borg, or the wonderful chance of performing slave labor on building projects or working like an indenture servant overseas - where the so call need is great. :rolling eyes: I just can't with them.

So the sister had this young man funeral at a funeral home (because of course she can't have it at the KH since he was murdered). She had this old elder gave the funeral eulogy and he didn't even know this young man. The young man who died name was only mentioned 3 times in an hour an 1/2 and of course they did the standard, genertic B.S. funeral talk they do at everybody's service. I was so disgusted!!

It sounded more like the talk you hear during Memorial Service than anything that would memorialize this person's life. There were so many young adults there that needed to hear something positive as well as a cautionary word about getting involved with the wrong kind of lifestyle that could end your life as quickly as it did this young man's (he died before seeing his 22nd birthday).

Man, I was rolling my eyes the whole time and when they asked everybody to bow their heads and pray, I just couldn't. I could not give an amen to that bogus, disrespectful service that never once spoke about this person and how a young life was lost before it was found.

What happened immediately after your Judicial Committee was over?

whenever i went to my judicial committee (over 3 years ago), the elders opened with a prayer for jehbooboo's guidance.

then they followed up with their loyalty question, "do you believe in the faithful and discreet slave?".

of course i answered "no", and shortly thereafter i handed over my disassociation letter.

I would not give them details, I made sure of that, when they were talking, I reach a point where I said "look, I'm taking control of my life as a 47 year old woman and I'm going to do what is in MY best interest. You got a problem with it, that's your to sort out, not mine". They told me to open to a scripture and I told them I didn't have my glasses and so I wouldn't be able to read along, even though they were in my purse. I was basically done in my head.

They got irritated (I suppose) and asked me to wait outside while they came to their decision. I went in my car and call the people I thought I had a decent relationship with in the KH and told them they were about to disfellowship me (especially since I got smart with these fools). One of the elders was a nasty, miserable disrespectful MF so I knew he was going to push for disfellowshipping. I always checked him on his behavior, I never let him treat me like I wasn't worth being respected as a human being because I was a sister. He knew not to try me, because I would definitely come for him. One time he called my house at 10:30pm to get my FS time (which I didn't care about so hardly ever turned in on time without being harrassed) and I told him "Just because I'm single does not mean you can call my house anytime you feel like it. I would never disrespect you or your family and call at a late hour. I work so I don't have time for this, you can make up any hours you want, I got to go to work tomorrow" and I hung-up on him

In any event, I didn't care how that mess was going to go either way.

I was under so much stress.......that's when it clicked, I said "let this shit go, if i'ts causing you this much stress it ain't worth it!" That's when I broke with the mind control programming. Right on the spot and knew when I walked back into the backroom, it would be the last time I stepped into a KH again. I was FREE!

The next day I followed up with the witnesses that I knew who I felt geninuely cared about me and told them I was disfellowshipped and I wish them all the best but I was not coming back. One sister tried to talk me down and told me to take the punishment and come back; I quickly dismissed her as she had done the exact same thing I did and left the state to go to another congregation and get reinstated. Sneaky bitch!

Prior to my disfellowshipping event, I confined in her about all my doubts about the organization and our similar situation, she told me she couldn't keep this info to herself, she was going to have to tell the elders .....didn't take long for this hypocrite to turn into a trailor (typical JW)! But I never told them about the extra stuff she had confined in me about, that they didn't even know. At that point, I told her "hey, do what you gonna do, I don't care either way." I was completely unconcerned. She tried to contact me several times after I got disfellowshipped but I just block her number.

Now life is a lot less stressful for me, and even though I have my moments in my day-to-day, like we all do, it is not compounded by the stress of this crazy, demanding, mean-spirited organization.
