Greetings,This question is for the ladies out there, but if you are a man and you'd like to share your thoughts on the following topic you are welcomed to do so.Given the WT society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth". In such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out? I've noticed that it is very common for sisters to visit different congregations in hope of finding a mate.I personally gave up on the idea of getting married and having children partly because I want to take care of my parents once i'm done with school and also because I don't want to be trapped in an unhappy marriage. My opinion is that the JW dating systems is set up in such a way that it rushes people into marriage when they have very little knowledge of their mate. I think that single women in the org. are in a better place, for they still have their independence and their freedom. I will never date/marry anyone. Freedom tastes too good :-). I Hope that I'm doing the right thing. -

"(Other religions teach the bible too....without drama and all that goes with it.)"
do you have a religion in mind? A religion that doesn't change or misinterpret the bible's content, that is.

@ cook my socks
"You don't seem ready to make the commitment"
would you commit to a religion without knowing what you are getting yourself into?
"You love JW's or you don't"
Do I love Jehovah God? Yes absolutely (otherwise I wouldn't be enduring this mess). Do I love *JW's*? Well it depends on the individual.

@ Alive
I figured that switching congregation would give me the opportunity to start over again. Although there's no garantee that i'm going to become a JW (yes i'm still investigating), moving to another congro will facilitate my integration. The congro i'm thinking of is mainly composed of eldery people and mature couples. I can't be a treat to these people. I won't be a problem for no family. The members will just see my as a weird bird at worst. There isn't no single brothers , So I won't have to worry about being someone's stumbling block.
Again I'm just here to do what God requires me to do. I'm not asking anyone anything. I don't mind not being invited to JW events. I don't mind not being friend with the brothers and sisters. I just want a peacefull environnement where I can find God and deepen my knowledge of the bible without all the drama.

@ A.proclaimer
bisous, bisous.

Hi guys,
I just want to give you a quite update. The scrutiny which i'm the object of hasn't stopped. It's quite the contrary. From the last week to today, something must have occurred because they're watching me more than ever. Plus today an incident occurred which I think i'll get in trouble for: I attended the theocratic school earlier this evening. During the song I went to the rest room. On my way back to the main hall I encountered the presiding-elder's son who was heading towards the restroom. Since he (along with his mother and his 4 sisters) has been shunning me for months now, I try to avoid any awkwardness by not acknowledge his presence which I failed to do because he padded me on the shoulder telling me that it was nice to see again. Then He asked what was up with me. I didn't have the chance to reply when his oldest sister emerged from out of nowhere. I could see the discomfort in his gesture. He was acting all guilty yet we haven't done anything that could bring shame upon God's name (where doesn't it say in the bible that is forbidden to speak with someone who isn't not a JW?). It was a very awkward situation... I feel like i'm walking on eggshell. Hopefully the sister won't report the incident to her parents... And if she does report it, I hope the brother will have the honesty to say that he was the one who introduced the conversation.

@ Truthexplored: Let's say I get baptised, and then get disfellowship for joining another christian faith, how could it possibly affect me? I mean I have no family or friends in the org and (I have a few acquitances, but they're obviously not my friends which is fine for me). I won't even consider coming back. I've noticed that the members who tend to come back are the ones who have left their family members in the org. They don't want to lose the only friends and family they've ever known so they compromise. Someone who has nothing to loose except for their name (wich in my case has already been spoiled as you can tell from my post) can leave the org. with no real consequences. This person won't loose (especially if they never fitted in or were never invited anywhere in the first place). I've witnessed a member being shunned after they announced publically that she was no longer a JW. It was a very sad day. Everybody was griefing. She got reinstated a year an a half afterwards. It's typical case.

I'm going to take advantage of the fact that i'm not yet committed to the religion to ask my study conductor to give me some more explanation about the false prophecies, the WT's affiliation with the united nation and the new light thing . I understand that it really is a serious matter and I won't be rushing into baptism without having the full picture. It isn't in my interest to let my study instructor know what I have been up to lately so i'll try to be discrete about me visiting "apostasic website" (like french jw like to call it). I need to gather info from both parties so that i'm able to fully understand what it is all about.
Thank you very much for the support guys. I will keep you updated.

"Once you get in you must marry a brother, not just a brother, but one with good stand. What gonna happen if you reject somebody who pursue you? Think through everything before taking any action, it's easy way in hard way out."
Even if I were to get baptised tomorrow, they wouldn't expect me to get married any time soon, for I would be considered spiritually immature. Anyways, there is no way i'm going to marry a JW men. From what I understand from some of your storries , some of these men are tyrants. Plus the jw dating system is a big whole mess. I refuse to be stuck with someone I barely know. Marriage is a personal choice. The elders cannot conceal a sister for not wanting to pursue a courtship with a brother, as there is no scriptures saying that mariage is mandatory. I want to remain independent so that I can take care of my parents. Dating and getting married is big No-No for me.
