@Giordano
Thanks for the advise .
this question is for the ladies out there, but if you are a man and you'd like to share your thoughts on the following topic you are welcomed to do so.
given the wt society's view on women, did any of you ladies gave up on the idea of getting married "in the truth".
in such case, did you sometimes feel that you were missing out?

thank you very much for this "article". Is there a way that I can show this to my study instructor without getting myself in trouble?

Thank you for your answer. I am sorry that you were trapped in an unhappy marriage for so long! The WT society advises young people to wait until they are mature enough before making such a big life commitement. May I ask you why you married so young? Did your parents agree with your choice?

wow. My heart broke! Are you still in touch with the sister's family? Was it known that she was suffering from severe depression? That's unfortunate :-(
@Paintedtoenails
It is quite difficult for me to give a valid explanation as to why I'm attracted to this religion. You would have to understand the mess that I have gone through this summer in order to be able see where this fascination comes from. Don't get me wrong: what's appealing to me is not the jw's as a group, but Rather their devotation to God. Most of these people are very disciplined and virtuous. I wish I could display such qualities. I know that it's not easy to join this religion, but the truth is that it's not any easier to be "in the world" either (that's my experience). I prefer to be unhappy while serving God rather than unhappy while leaving a messy life.
I can deal with most of the rules imposed by the WT society. But when it comes to my education, THEY CAN'T TELL ME NOTHING!!!!! They can excommuniate a member because they want to pursue a career. The bible doesn't condemne high education.

If I were to to marry in the lord, my parents wouldn't be able to attend my wedding at the KH because they are non-belivers. My husband would not help me taking care of them for the same reason. I'm pretty sure that my parents in law would reject them. It would grieve me to see my parents being disrespected. I'm also concerned that if I get married, I will be expected to give up on my career to stay at home and cook for my husband. The scariest part is that I would be expdcted to be submissive to him. That doesn't sound too good to me...

just a little disclaimer: english isn't my first language (i'm from france) thus the poor writing skills.here is the situation: i'm not a jw.
however, i'm in the process of becoming one.
in fact, i'm studying with the jw's, and i'll proceed to become an unbaptized publisher as soon as i finish the first book.to make a long story short i was introduced to the truth when i was 18een.

"(Other religions teach the bible too....without drama and all that goes with it.)"
do you have a religion in mind? A religion that doesn't change or misinterpret the bible's content, that is.

" it has been said from the WT that even married persons should not hold hands in the hall, nor should one hug the person of the opposite sex"
wow!! It's getting out of control!!! :o

"You don't seem ready to make the commitment"
would you commit to a religion without knowing what you are getting yourself into?
"You love JW's or you don't"
Do I love Jehovah God? Yes absolutely (otherwise I wouldn't be enduring this mess). Do I love *JW's*? Well it depends on the individual.

I figured that switching congregation would give me the opportunity to start over again. Although there's no garantee that i'm going to become a JW (yes i'm still investigating), moving to another congro will facilitate my integration. The congro i'm thinking of is mainly composed of eldery people and mature couples. I can't be a treat to these people. I won't be a problem for no family. The members will just see my as a weird bird at worst. There isn't no single brothers , So I won't have to worry about being someone's stumbling block.
Again I'm just here to do what God requires me to do. I'm not asking anyone anything. I don't mind not being invited to JW events. I don't mind not being friend with the brothers and sisters. I just want a peacefull environnement where I can find God and deepen my knowledge of the bible without all the drama.
