I disassociated but was disfellowshipped anyway afterwards. Yes, i know it doesn't make sense, they wanted to "chat" to me about my decision and during that chat disfellowshipped me.
I have a 3yo daughter and am now separated from my wife.
Do some witnesses still come to your house for association with your still in spouse? Or do all of them avoid your home like the plague?
Nope. They treat me the same way the pharisee's treated lepers. They literally jump out of their skin and look the other way in the street.
Do some of the more down to earth...keeping it real ones still talk to you as normal when they come to visit your spouse etc?
As above. No. My spouse lives with her parents. Im told that the cliques in the congregation included her for about 2 weeks and worked with her in service, but we now know that this was just the get the details, the gossip. They dont bother with her anymore.
Do they allow their kids over for sleep overs and association and carry on as normal?
My daughter has one little friend her age in the KH. There's no sleepovers but she does do little days out every now and then with JW kids. My ex takes her on these though.
Did you write to relatives who are JW's and respectfully say they need not worry; that they could still come over, but that you would respectfully refrain from discussing anything spiritual out of respect for their beliefs?
I used to. I made it very clear that i have no interest in drawing them away from their religion if they're happy with it. They dont reply. Or on the rare occasion that my sister does it's to tell me im going to die in armageddon. My mum tells people im dead. My other sister stalks my Facebook and makes up stories about me to the rest of the family.
Do any or even all of your JW relatives avoid visiting your home despite the fact your spouse and children are still attending?
No one even knows where i live, let alone try to visit. My mum does sometimes ask my ex to bring my daughter over to visit.
Did your dissacociation cause a lot of stress between you and your spouse and children?
Not at first. When i told my then-wife that i no longer believed it, she was troubled but ok about it. Only when i actually DA'd did she leave me. Her elder father helped with that.
Did your experience affect your mental health?
No. But it could have. I was fortunate to have people on here and Ex-JW Facebook group to help me through it. I refused to sit at home and think of all the bad stuff. It has changed me though. Im a lot more abrupt when JWs on their carts try to convert me back.
Was it worth it? Or do you wish you had simply faded?
Yes! Vert worth it. Fading means they still have some hold on you. Now everyone knows where i stand.

2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975
by baldeagle inmany of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".
this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.
we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

Interesting is the fact that they remain rockstars and get adulation even when they are no longer on the GB.
Non-JW's and Ex-Jw's having their celebrity moment with Raymond Franz:
In the case of Ray Franz, i'd say he deserves it. I owe a lot to that man.

And anyway, kitchens of that size use industrial dishwashers not sinks and taps to wash up.

Where are the photos of these humble Christ-like servants the GB??? with brooms, cleaning toilets stacking chairs??
Ah but remember the pic someone shared from Bethel of Anthony Morris... wait for it... WASHING A CUP!! Oh how humble he is. Washing his own cup.
Tell me, how many times have you been in the office kitchen and cant find a clean cup so you wash one yourself? Doesn't mean that you spend all day washing dishes does it?

Even though i dont think it's the GB seeking out people to have their pics taken, what im getting at is when i was a kid nobody knew who the GB members where. Maybe some really hardcore JW elder would know some of their names, but look at it now. Everyone knows who they are, they're on your TV daily and one of them even appears prominently on the convention program.
Ask yourself... when did girls like this ever approach you and ask for a pic with you so they could share it with their friends and upload it on one of those JW Instagram pages? Are they getting pics because they're related? Because they think he's cute? Or maybe because he's a celebrity in JW land?

Bro Lett found himself some cute Asian babes, go Stevie!
Brilliant that Jeffrey Jackson went for the hot babes that we all used to look for in the conventions. Jeff dont need no introduction. All those hormones raging after the old coot. Whatta day for you eh Jeff?
The only one i couldnt find a selfie for was Anthony Morris III. But i think that's because even the JWs dont like him.

Only to family members when they say "aw cummon, you know it's the truth, you just dont want to take your punishment". Hit them with the A word and they literally jump out of their skin or pause for like 3 seconds and pretend you're invisible.
Never done it to any cart witnesses though. I prefer to pretend im an ex Catholic who's being shunned by my Catholic family for studying with the witnesses. They all tell me that's terrible and how their org would welcome me.

My disassociation story
by Roger Kirkpatrick infollowing is a summary of events leading up to my decision to disassociate from jehovah's witnesses and the unforeseen results of that decision.. a young man named joel engardio produced a documentary about jehovah's witnesses called "knocking" which aired nationally on pbs.
i purchased the dvd from joel before it was even released and we exchanged emails.
joel had been raised by his jw mother and had been active in jw activities during his adolescence, but he was never baptized as a jw.

Thanks for sharing Roger. It's annoying isnt it when JWs will just do what they want anyway and make themselves out to be the "holier than thou" for doing it.
DAing or getting DF'd is not an easy situation to be in, but in my personal opinion, its better than being simply "faded" because there's closure. And active JW's know where you stand.
