My ex-family and other disgruntled JWs use it as an attempt to shame me, but I correct them with:
"Actually, im a heretic. Even if God does exist I think he's a genocidal, mass murdering, slavery condoning c*nt."
They don't came back for seconds.
i always found it uncomfortable to informal witness to people but trying to convince a jw to jump ship brings much more pleasure..

i have noticed, from reading posts on this and other related websites, what to me is an alarming practice taking place within the jw's.
and that is the baptism of kids.. on a recent discussion posted by pe ( video of the girl now forced to shun her sister) this child was baptised at 9 years old.
all of us who were baptised at a much older age know of the many questions one needs to give serious consideration and understanding of to become eligible for baptism, not to mention the two baptism questions asked before being dunked.. surely the organisation must know that children of such a young age are not mature enough to fully grasp the seriousness, demands and consequences of making such a decision.. another point; if jesus is the example to follow, then why did he only get baptised at age 30, and he was perfect!.
I don't know about you guys but my baptism questions from elders were merely a formality. The 2nd elder spent an hour talking about his holiday to Cyprus then said "oh I better ask you done questions" then asked me TWO easy questions and went back to his holiday stories.
The questions right before you get dipped no one is really thinking about, just say "yes!" because everyone is watching.
I was baptised at 19 because my family and friends kept asking me why I wasn't baptised. That was it. Only two others were baptised that day, both have also woken up and left.
this poor girl was baptized at 9yo.
.
she isnt old enough to buy alcohol, to vote, to decide her own medical treatment, to buy a pet, to travel alone... yet she was deemed old enough to dedicate her life to a religion that will cut her off from her family if she ever leaves.. here she is applauded for shunning her own sister who tried to keep in contact with her after waking up.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0yzgnfda8ki.

At 10yo, whats to say she herself wont wake up in her teens or early 20s? I hope she does. And then what? She loses her family and has to try and find her sister who she shunned all those years and hope she forgives her. Because i tell you what, i wont forgive my family even if they woke up and tried to regain contact. Too much has been done, too much they've said and tried to disrupt the only family i have.

august 11, 2017 to all bodies of elders re: 2018 memorial invitations and date of special talk .
fyi:.
the 2018 memorial will be held on saturday, march 31, 2018.. the 2019 memorial will be held on friday, april 19, 2019..
Hmm... it's almost as if nobody's really interested in attending the special talk in the first place.
hi i am just starting to rebuild my relationship with jehovah.
.
i would like to hear from people who may be or have been in similar situations and now want to dedicate their lives to him..
Dedicating your life you Jehovah is fine.
However, dedicating your life to an organization with a long track record of false predictions, child abuse cover ups and misquoting people in their publications is not.
Remember, the baptism question they use is "Do you understand that your dedication and baptism identify you as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in association with God's spirit-directed organization?
Having answered yes to these questions, candidates are in a right heart condition to undergo Christian baptism." - this is not the way it's outlined in the bible.
i came across a youtuber 'ask a jehovah's witness' who phoned an elder and spoke to him about some of his concerns regarding children and the jw org website.
he made some very valid points.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbe_g4vkcg0he came across a very disturbing instruction directed towards teenagers on the jw website.
it's under the heading of 'teenagers ask: how to avoid pornography'.
Imagine a young sister approaching an older elder telling him each week that she had a relapse and masturbated. You telling me that elder isnt gonna have mental imagery?
For godsakes Watchtower, lets us have a wank if we want one.
hey guys.
a friend online asked me about my recovery and how i managed to recover relatively easily from watchtower indoctrination.
although i think a major part of it is acquainting oneself with information about the watchtower and it's history, a lot of it (for me at least) was an inner game.
Thanks guys. Im studying in Uni at the moment to become an ex-cult therapist. Im hoping to include this in my dissertation near the end of my studies. Im glad you enjoyed it.
part 1 in here: https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5961287718666240/short-life-story-part-1.
so im 19, i decided to shut up and put all my doubts about god even existing to the back of my mind and just go along with it.
im sure things will be explained eventually, all i need is to humble myself and do more in "the truth" right?.
This is EXACTLY why I believe in living together BEFORE marriage. In JW land, you'll NEVER get to experience and REALLY UNDERSTAND what living together with the other person is actually like BEFORE you decide to spend the rest of your life WITH them!
Here, here!
