  at that time, the life-saving direction that we receive from jehovah’s organization may not appear practical from a human standpoint.

  all of us must be ready to obey any instructions we may receive, whether these appear sound from a strategic or human standpoint or not.

  its not such a big stretch of the imagination to think that jim jones or david koresh used such reasoning to convince their followers to do what they did, to have absolute faith in what they were saying was from god.

  While so funny; its really sad-I mean not one JW is taught how to grow up and address his or her sexuality in a health, non destructive way. We are taught to suppress , sex is dirty, desire is dirty, that leads to all kinds of problems. Just stack this on top of all the other controlling behavior and Wow thats all I can say.

  I dont know about anyone else but i was a heavy porn user in my JW days.

  As soon as i left my porn used dropped dramatically... because i started dating girls "properly".

  What do they expect? Not only is sex before marriage banned but masturbation too? There cant be many single JW brothers who dont masturbate. There's two 35yo brothers in my old congregation who are popular, goodlooking, have dated in the past but are still single. They must have some high quality pillows.

  How to Argue for Creationism

  all creationist arguments follow an identical pattern.. first a quick way to remember the format - 'complexity, complexity, complexity; therefore god'.. now a more detailed guide to formulating an argument.. identify some complex feature of the natural world.

  a quick google search or nature documentary will quickly provide inspiration.

  creationist websites have hundreds of them you can copy-paste without attribution.. do no research at all on what is currently known about the evolutionary history of this feature.

  I do believe in science... and God is the greatest scientist.

  There are laws of thermodynamics, laws of physics, laws of gravity... so who put those laws in place?

  I don't know how Lloyd Evans gets these vids, id love to do a rebuttal on it too.

  The tight pants even got a mention. Tony is likely the instigator for this brilliant video. I notice no GB member had the balls to present this topic.

  So the Watchtower has now banned beards, tight pants, certain sleeping positions, sitting on a bethel boys lap and humping sheets.

  Fuck, I would make a terrible JW if I went back. There's nothing I like more than sitting on a boys lap with a pillow between my legs while we engage in skinless pornea.

  one of the most common "defences" of jw organization is that "the brothers" are imperfect yet still strive to follow god's word.

  "sure, they make mistakes," so the argument goes, "but so did god's people in the past, including in bible times.

  " the key point is their readiness to keep studying god's word and learning from their mistakes.".

  Part of me wishes that while i was in i should have claimed to be anointed and watch what happens. I was always the bible scholar. The stand-in talk guy when a speaker didnt turn up, i did talks because i actually liked doing them.
