just wanted to update you guys of the amazing couple of weeks i've had in recovering from the cult.. i was attending the meetings still just so i could see my daughter in the kingdom hall and have her sit we me half the time.
i had no intention of ever becoming a jw again but was hoping to be re-instated and just not turn up ever again so i could at least see my family.
but then an elder said something to me that changed all that.

I think he did a bloody good job. Part of me hopes they transgress ever so slightly so I can take them to court.

I dug out a CD rom from 2013. Keeping that. You can bet your life they'll be rewording the CD roms from now on.

Here in the UK there was always an asshole that would turn up in a white suit and wear sunglasses indoors. Usually he was a virgin who was overcompensating desperate for attention and never actually approached or spoke to any girls. Just hung around the other assholes that may as well not even be in the religion if they want to live a "worldly" life so much.

my new girlfriend asked me over dinner last night what jw's believe.
as i sat there explaining it i realized how ridiculous it sounds and was slightly embarrassed that i used to believe this crap for 31 years.. try and read this and imagine hearing it for the first time.... me: well... jw believe that god's name is jehovah and that his son is jesus christ.
they believe that jesus died on a stake and not a cross and that in the year 1914 he personally chosen the jw's as his one true religion.
jws - mind if I nitpick? It's not all the good JW's will come back to life, it's - all those who have ever died will come back to life (except for a very few really really really bad people). That's probably what you meant to say.
My bad. But in fairness by the time i got to 6 men in New York she'd already creased over laughing.

First off if there is an emergency medical problem you need to be made aware of it immediately.....if your ex doesn't understand that or some Elder or other family member thinks they need to keep you out of it especially linking that decision to some vague JW concerns a letter from your attorney needs to be sent to all parties spelling out that you and your ex are the decision makers.
Let them all know this is a legal matter not a religious one.
Way ahead of you. After "the milk incident" in the convention i went and see a lawyer pronto. He written up a nice little letter and mailed it to my old congregation and even to Bethel. If my daughter goes to hospital for any reason in future, Elders and especially the HLC are not allowed to turn up without my explicit permission (which of coarse will never be given).
Also, check out my other thread of when my girlfriend asked me what JW's believe. She thought i was making it up as i went along. I said "no that's the GB".

For those who mentioned my daughter, that's been my goal all along. I've said from the get go that i wont poke fun at her mums religion - but i WILL teach her to use critical thinking, logic and reason. That goes for anything i tell her too. Question, question, question... science, philosophy, math, literature, history... everything until you make up your own conclusion.
I doubt she'd ever become a JW. Her mother cant even explain why birthdays are "non-christian".
