Dressed up five days ahead of special assembly in Puerto Rico!!

an hour ago i went to bid good bye my two brothers in law and their wives (all elders/elderettes).

they were invited to the special assembly in puerto rico this coming weekend.

they are boarding the plane in about three hours (leaves at 1:00 am pacific.

I remember we were told keep our badges on during lunch breaks outside and coming/going from home to the conventions. I never did. NO ONE ever asks what the badge is for, they just assume (quite rightly) we're a bunch of wierdo's with GOD and JEHOVAH pinned to our chests.

Saw some the other day in town, was so tempted to ask them about their badge so they could jump at the opportunity to talk about their convention. My question would be "but what if you decided to leave your religion? what happens then?"

'Anointeds' Do you know any and if so what are they like ?

would like to hear about any experiences anyone has had with the so called ' anointed ' .

There was one in the congregation i grew up in. Nice enough fella, except it hit the roof once when he was on platform mic duty and during the meeting the speak asked me sitting in the front row if i'd adjust his mic for him because he knocked it. I did. The "anointed" brother on mic duty marched up to me, put his face in front of mine and said something like "next time ASK ME to do it, it's like a slap in the face you taking over my job!".

Another one was my ex-girlfriends dad. Only problem was sometimes he thought he was anointed, other times he didnt. So every so often he wouldnt take the bread and wine and then next time he would again.

Got my JC cancelled... (at least for now)

so my wife and i have been in the process of fading for a few months now as per my original post here.

about a week ago, i was browsing some ex-jw facebook groups when i saw a post that linked to the crisis of conscience book.

i said "f@(k it" and hit share on it.. a few hours later, i get a long text letter from my mom (who was a fb friend of mine) telling me the typical "good luck finding friends in the world" and how we have "nothing in common anymore"; basically, it was a 'farewell' text.

You know, just sharing a post about a book on FB doesn't necessarily mean you agree with it.

I'd say "i dont know if it is apostasy, i haven't read it. Have you?"

for those of you that asked, below is a copy of my solicitors letter to the elders in my old congregation.

he sent a similar one directly to bethel and a medical directive to my daughters gp to go on her medical records that i have already given permission for her to have a blood transfusion should she need one:.

Regarding the LEARN FROM THE GREAT TEACHER book, page 242, I just had to show him what i was talking about. He snatched the book from my hand and asked "is this a CHILDRENS book?!!". I said yes and he called in one of his colleges. She was appalled.

Elders Advice Backfired And Now Im The Happiest I've Ever Been

just wanted to update you guys of the amazing couple of weeks i've had in recovering from the cult.. i was attending the meetings still just so i could see my daughter in the kingdom hall and have her sit we me half the time.

i had no intention of ever becoming a jw again but was hoping to be re-instated and just not turn up ever again so i could at least see my family.

but then an elder said something to me that changed all that.

I think he did a bloody good job. Part of me hopes they transgress ever so slightly so I can take them to court.

I dug out a CD rom from 2013. Keeping that. You can bet your life they'll be rewording the CD roms from now on.

It's no accident that the online library only goes back about 10 years for the mags. And all those references that are greyed out that you can click on.

Here in the UK there was always an asshole that would turn up in a white suit and wear sunglasses indoors. Usually he was a virgin who was overcompensating desperate for attention and never actually approached or spoke to any girls. Just hung around the other assholes that may as well not even be in the religion if they want to live a "worldly" life so much.
