  there is an add that appears often here about a 'messianic bible, free reserve yours now.

  ' i contacted them and not wanting anything for free i sent what i thought was a fair price for such a bible.

  no bible they seem to be working on it.

  I was approached by some Catholics in town only the otherday selling little crosses and blessed virgin necklaces. One of them approached me trying to sell something. I told him "Didnt Jesus turn the money changers out of the temple for this sort of thing?" his reply was something like "the Jews were cheating eachother etc etc." then my reply was "God doesnt need money. If he can provide manna in the wilderness but cant fund your cause then that tells me he doesnt have your backing".

  If God needs to sell his own book then he aint no God.

  i think its now easy see the long standing and continuous operation of the watchtower corporation and its commercialized corruption as a religious publishing house.

  the core centralized intent was to increase the circulation and distribution of the wts's own publications.

  they exploited the basic belief in the bible as holy spiritual writings and used the end is near proclamation all throughout the 20th century and even back toward the end of the 19th century.. these leaders also devised special engaging public talks at assemblies and local kingdom halls which were also devised to support those specific core doctrines of christ's return and a imposing question of who's worthy of being saved or not at the soon to come day of judgment armageddon.

  had the misfortune of stopping by the "regional" convention yesterday.

  i promised my daughter i would come to sunday afternoon so she wouldnt have to ride home with her mother.... holy crap it was weird!

  im sure all of this has been covered on the forum but to actually see it.... just wow.

  i lead a double life.

  i post on apostate web sites, swear like a sailor, covertly subvert the watchtower religion and do many other things i'd rather not mention.

  This is what made me see that the religion is bull. There was an elder in the hall i grep in that was an alcoholic and a wife beater. Everyone knew he was. My own dad had seen him punch his wife in the face and confronted him for it. Dad was suddenly removed as an MS a week later... funny that.

  As for me, i was the stand-in talk guy for when the speaker didn't turn up, read the WT on the platform, did prayers... while also having a huge porn collection, being a Marilyn Manson fan, swearing, smoke weed on occasion and looking up this site while actually in the KH on their wifi.

  Holy spirit is either on our side or doesn't exist.

  7 years ago i was this "ultra spiritual elder".

  you name it, i was visible all over the region.

  i was the coordinator, on the convention committee, rbc, had a talk at every convention and assembly, regular pioneer, etc.

  I went through the same thinking as you. I didn't become an atheist overnight. When i was first mentally out i still believed in Jehovah but not in the organization. In my judicial i even told the elders that i believe in god but i don't know who or where he is. Or even if it's a she or they!

  Then i read the bible on it's own (not the New World Bastardization, a real translation like the NIV). I highlighted all the scriptures i thought were upbuilding one colour, and highlighted scriptures i wanted to understand better in another colour. Pretty soon i started to see contradiction, illogical things, a cruel desert god meting out harsh punishments for petty things and then started to believe that the god of the bible either doesn't exist or is a massive c*nt.

  After much research with an open mind and critical thought im now an atheist and immeasurably happier. It's not easy at first but it gets better and leaving the org is the best thing you ever did sir.

  I hid all my sins, not because I was embarrassed or worried about letting anyone else down, but because I knew they'd get my family to shun me.

  I dont have a "thing" which i find universally attractive... but im hopelessly attracted to foreign women. If they speak another language or have an accent im there.

  Back in my JW days, i used to genuinely love visiting the KH when i was on holiday. Not for the "spiritual food" but to talk to the foreign sisters. I was quite the cad back in the day.
