Is Jehovah that petty?
JWs are obsessed with sex. Two people living in the same home with a married couple wont necessarily have sex. What lack of trust they show in those two pioneers.
so ... situation:.
a baptized married couple, with no privileges that we know of, have opened their home to 2 unmarried regular pioneers because of the pioneers' financial issues (limited income).. - husband works from home.
- wife doesn't work and stays home or in service.

the manipulative use of language by the org in the upcoming circuit assembly talks is as good - or better - than any advertising conglomerate could devise.
the mind-shaping wording is clearly used in order to deter critical thinking by the sheep.. face bad reports as jesus did (9 min.
note to the speaker: explain why spiritually mature people do not become ashamed of the good news or dismayed when faced with negative propaganda.
Whenever I've been 100% sure of something I've welcomed debate and criticism. Because if it's true you'll come out on top and have even more faith.
But if it's not true...
i walked to the station yesterday to meet a friend, and on the way, in what must be the quietest street in the entire suburb, were two j.witnesses and their little cart, all set with a literature display.
i wondered what point there may have been to choose that location.
i felt like grabbing one of their bibles and reading matthew 5:15 to them:.
Only this week in Liverpool we've had the Hari Krishna's banging a drum, singing, jingling bells. People go "whats that? Oh, the Hari Krishnas".
Then the guys shouting about Jesus and hellfire. "Who's that? Oh, the Born Again's".
JW Cart and silence... "Who's that?.... I dunno. Who cares?"
story breaking on reuters here.... kim jong-un seems determined to start a war.
nk is a national cult of personality.
hating the rest of the world is the first tenet of faith..
full stop.
(paragraph 12 -- feburary 2017 watchtower -- who is leading god's people today?
)so why then would any jw abide by harmful doctrines setup by the governing body (blood, shunning, the two-witness rule, etc)?
Annoying isnt it?
I used this reasoning with my family and the elders when i left:
"If they're neither inspired nor infallible then why is their opinion worth any more than yours or mine? What are they for? Why should we follow them?"
The reply was always something like "because Jehovah selected them".
And so the merry go round starts. Circular reasoning and doublespeak.
since leaving watchtower it still strikes me as odd how little i knew the real world and how it works.
i thought i knew how it worked but it turns out i didnt.
as jws we were always "courting with a view to marriage".you go on one date with a girl and everyone's expecting you're gonna marry her?
Since leaving Watchtower it still strikes me as odd how little i knew the real world and how it works. I thought i knew how it worked but it turns out i didnt. As JWs we were always "courting with a view to marriage".You go on one date with a girl and everyone's expecting you're gonna marry her? You know the drill. You meet at a JW get-together or convention. You get the number. You arrange to meet up at a party or something (lots of chaperones of course). You maybe kiss. You date for a few years then get engaged. Looking back is the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.
Surprisingly (especially for me) it's taken me over a year to fuly understand the dating scene in the real world. My situation: Im a soon-to-be-divorced dad of 32yo. My ex is still JW. Since my ex and i split up i've had 2 girlfriends, both of which escalated quicker than i'd liked simply because i didst understand the dating scene in the real world. I thought once you "get" with a girl you're obliged to stick with her.
Allow me to explain.... i go to an art class every other Sunday. A few weeks ago i meet a girl in this class and we hit it off. We swap numbers and end up going for a drink of tea in some fancy-shmancy tea shop (this is England guys, we love our tea). After a delightful hour of talking and drinking tea we depart and make arrangements. Fast forward, a week later we're having sex. A week after that things have cooled down and i hardly hear from her. I dont wanna look like one of "those guys" that are insecure but it's bugging me as to what this is so i ask her. She replied "oh, i just wanted to have sex with you. Why? What did you thing this was?"
Now, thats fine. Really, it is. But i really had this strange idea in my head that im supposed to "court" this girl afterwards. Or at least be her "boyfriend" for a while. As liberating as it was it really hit home to me how little i really knew of the real world and how it works. Dont get me wrong, im 100% for women being sexually liberated, but i've never had that happen before. When i told my female friends they just said "yeah, she's just done what most guys do to girls they like".
Did any of you have any difficulty transitioning into the real world relationship-wise?
as ridiculous as the bunker video was, a few things popped into my consciousness as i was riding the train today.
firstly, why did they go to all the expense and effort to not only create a bunker, but to furnish it like a living room complete with coffee table, armchair, shelves etc?
i mean, a bunker should be a bunker... boxes of tinned food, tools, medical supplies, emergency gear etc.
Lock me in a bunker with that girl and you'd have the first great tribulation JC. Although I don't think there's 3 elders there.

Second, WHY did they fit it with A NORMAL DOOR?!! A bunker would require a sturdy, heavy, metal door that should be bomb proof. When i worked in immigration i spent a few months working in a top security area where we kept blank passports, citizenship certificates and official stamps. Obviously not just anybody could go in there, you had to have top clearance (like i did). That door was one sturdy, heavy mother. I was told it was bullet proof, bomb proof and would take a tank to knock it in. As you saw from the bunker video, all it took was one 21st century gestapo dude to kick it in.
Third, the hot girl that broke down in tears because she had doubts (not explicitly mentioned, but implied), doesn't this show how extreme the org is. You have doubts about doctrine so you break down in tears? Why? It's almost as if you'd lose everyone you love unless you do believe it. Keeping your family is a pretty strong incentive to want to believe something no matter how crazy.
And lastly, those "naughty" brothers that have noticed the bullshit in the Watchtowers new shite light. Can you blame them? No explanation is ever given WHY or HOW the GB got this new information. We're just supposed to accept it. You even see one of the brothers approach the speaker with a bible in hand discussing it with him. A bible. Not a Watchtower. How can reasoning from the bible ever be considered bad form for an organization that claims authority on scripture?
There are more things, but i wont go into them all right now.
chapter 23.
in 1970 i saw a move that changed my life forever.
which looking back, would have been a total blessing from god.
Sounds like a lot of misfits end up in Bethel (excluding you new boy).
This would all make a great sitcom.
just for fun, some thoughts about the paradise teaching:.
will all the carnivores be transformed anatomically?
if a lion is transformed into a herbivore would it still be a lion?
They forget little problems like this.
Also, as regards to clothes, fashions change all the time. Even in a utopia there's bound to be changes in clothing due to preference or to combat boredom of wearing the same thing. But then if the "kings and princes" ruling from heaven are dictating to us what to wear (no tight pants, skirts to a certain length etc) we're actually gonna be living in North Korea. Can men grow their hair in paradise? Or will there be a list of 5 acceptable haircuts like in North Korea?
No cool haircut. No cool clothes. No hot girls in spandex. No emo girls. No goths. No Rammstein. No more Quentin Tarentino films. No eating meat.
Shoot me now! Oh wait, you cant, im immortal. Noooooooooooooooo!!!
