Do you or did you experience too much intrusion into your personal life by the elders in your congregation?
by UnshackleTheChains ini ask this question because i have personally experienced first hand the control and intrusion into my personal life by the elders at our hall; and for virtually trivial things or non issues!
what's more, i regularly hear of individuals moving to other halls because they were stumbled by the thought police....er, i mean these elders.. have you had any such experience?
have your elders been a bit ott over trivialities?.

The best thing you can say to an elder when they poke their nose in is:
"This is my religion. You're not the FBI or CIA. Go away little man..."
Then enjoy their reaction. Their power instantly removed from them. They do-not-like-it!

oh boy did i!
It didnt help that i was married to an elders daughter to would not only turn me in for silly things but would even turn herself in!
I had elders investigating me for for putting a £5 bet on a football match, owning a little Netherlands flag on my bookcase, collecting bibles, reading the Koran, learning Hebrew, growing what they thought was a marijuana plant (it was a Japanese Mapel, and one of the elders who called was supposed to be a gardener), for low FS, for working with a single sister on the ministry when i had no FS partner... lots more.

Crazy statements from JWTalk
by Jehovah lol ini'm sure many of you are aware of the jwtalk site, a message board which has yet to succumb to apostasy (give it time).. some of the forums there are visible to the public, and i've seen some crazy stuff.
here is a sampling:.
"satan is really trying his best to make things worst for the witnesses, knowing the 6,000 years is almost up, from eve's creation!".

If you're too dense to understand that then perhaps you belong back in the truth.
In the what?

Will The Watchtower Ever Give Up Mandatory Shunning Of DF'd Members?
by Brokeback Watchtower ini think the wt will never give up this practice unless forced to by the courts, even if they are financially failing terribly they will keep it because the moment they do get rid of it the whole thing will collapse even faster and they know it(or afraid of it happening).
they have painted themselves into a corner of financial ruin.

The jws still view the Bible as more important than or above organisation, even by representatives of their organisation. Only until they reinterpret "remove the wicked man among yourselves" as a removal from congregation rather than family...
pomo, the org literally re-wrote the bible. Lots of things they do contradict the bible but the members just "wait on Jehovah". The GB is their God.

Ask many JWs and they'll claim they're not being forced to shun us, but they shun us because they want to. They've actually convinced themselves it's their own decision. Like many of their rules they think that it's not about being allowed or not allowed, it's about loyalty to Jehovah.
Of course they have free will, but acting upon that free will will have repercussions for them.

Oh man im so glad i dont have to sit and study any of those stupid books. Back in the day, the Greatest Man book was actually interesting... until you got to the group, then they sucked all the interest out of it.

CLAM MEETING Dumbing down
by freddo inso yesterday was the midweek meeting - the first of the month for december so instead of locals doing the little talk skits we get the on screen shadow puppets.. after each one the ms taking the item asks the congregation for "positive" comments.. part way through i get a text from a pimo brother enduring the show which reads thus (and i quote word for word ...).
"it's like listening to a bunch of people from a mental institution.
".

I remember the stupid silhouette videos they show. Fortunately i was out a year after they came in. Perhaps they dont want people getting up on the platform anymore doing demos. -

The replica they tried to build that houses the Creationist Museum is proof that it cant have been built.
They used modern machines, modern methods and even then they had to fortify it with metal girders and concrete. Any shipbuilder will tell you that a wooden vessel of that size wouldnt be seaworthy. It would bend in the water and would be smashed to smitherines as soon as the big waves come.
There's a reason the really big ships are built out of steel!

A picture speaks a thousand words.
No ones interested in them.
No ones interested in their message.
No ones interested in what they're doing.
For all the public knows they could be waiting for a bus or for someone to pick them up.
