And the Vatican have already denied it. Their comment is at the bottom.

Pope Francis: 'There Is No Hell'
by pleaseresearch inwow, now this is interesting.. in another interview with his longtime atheist friend, eugenio scalfari, pope francis claims that hell does not exist and that condemned souls just "disappear.
" this is a denial of the 2,000-year-old teaching of the catholic church about the reality of hell and the eternal existence of the soul.. https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/michael-w-chapman/pope-francis-there-no-hell.

Lloyd’s new book
by jwfacts ini see there has already been discussion over lloyd’s new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
this includes discussion around his personality, motives and financial gains.
i have written a foreword for this book, because it is an important topic that has not been covered in such a complete format before.

The funny thing about Zeb is, his style of activism is totally not the way i would go about it. But i admire the hell out of him because it takes balls of steel to do what he does. Get up on a platform in a KH and say a prayer? Walk into a meeting and announce the Royal Commission findings? It's shocking, it's provocative and you just know the JWs who are there are shook up a little but will remember it.
So although i would never do what he does, I like him :)

Lloyd Evans' New Book - Is It Really Necessary?
by pale.emperor inso lloyd evans will shortly be releasing his new book how to leave the jehovah's witnesses.
i do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak.
but i'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.. all info on how to leave is right here on this forum.

The title of this thread is Lloyd Evans' New Book - Is It Really Necessary?. I wasn't too sure if it was at the time of writing, and after reading the posts and input of you guys I'm still not sure if it is necessary. However, i do agree that anyone (especially ex-JWs) can write a book on JW related themes and I dont think that's a bad thing. I suppose the more books written about the cult the better eh? So there we have it, I asked the question, got the input and feel a bit more enlightened.
The thread seems to have turned onto a Lloyd Evans character. I dont know Lloyd. He hasn't slighted me personally and therefore I have nothing against him. As I've said before I enjoy his videos, i dont watch all of them and tend to skip over some of the rebuttals due to the length of some of them, but at the very least im sure we can agree that Lloyd keeps us informed of Watchtower goings on?

Just a thought, Paul, is there a section on your site explaining how to leave the JWs? If not, perhaps there should be. Active JWs do visit your site (i link some of my Quora answers to your page and they come back trying to explain away the evidence you present). Your site is practically the "go-to" place for JWs with doubts.

Pale.emperor, I'm puzzled by your OP given a recent thread of yours in which you share with us that you are writing a book to help those who have already left or who are weighing up whether to leave. Lloyd's book is on a not dissimilar theme. In that earlier thread of yours, I commented that there are a lot of ex-JW self-help books already but you responded that yours would be different. What happened that you now say that most of what could be written on the topic could be put on a single sheet of paper?
https://www.jehovahs-witness.com/topic/5994569121398784/im-writing-ex-jw-self-help-book
I'm not begrudging him writing a book on how to leave (or any book(s) for that matter), I'm just thinking what can be in it to warrant an entire book?
The one I'm working on isn't on how to leave. It's what to expect when one does leave and the coping mechanisms around it. If that can be produced on a leaflet then I guess I'll be writing a leaflet, but I dont think it can.
Plus mine will be free.
But, again, I feel I need to add that I dont dislike Lloyd, and I do enjoy his videos. I wasn't intending to turn this thread into a Lloyd Evans: Do we like him? thread.

Londo111 totally detest some of the made up allegations his opponents have brought up with zero evidence...
Yes that really was beyond disgusting and I don't mind saying I now have zero respect for Kim Brookes and some of The " Vast Apostate Army" crew who were the instigators of those obscene allegations.I dont dislike him. I dont know him as a person so i have nothing to say on that regard. He does seem to have a lot of contacts and access to stuff that we dont.
How can he be making money off his activism? (apart from selling his books). Surely not enough to live on?

So don't buy it.
Alternatively: This thread - is it really necessary?
Likely not. But i do enjoy a discussion.

So Lloyd Evans will shortly be releasing his new book How To Leave The Jehovah's Witnesses. I do enjoy his rebuttals and the stuff he manages to get hold of and leak. But I'm struggling to understand what he could possibly write to merit a whole book.
All info on how to leave is right here on this forum. Hell, it's probably easier and better coming on here because you can ask former elders/COs and our combined experience of the methods of this cult is second to none.
The book itself doesn't look a pamphlet, it's a proper book. I think we could sum up how to leave the JWs in just one tract. I'm in two minds whether to read it for curiosity. But I still haven't read his first book The Reluctant Apostate due to it being £23.99. The 5th edition of Crises Of Conscience was only £18 and I cant see him topping that.

Memorial.. To go or not to go
by Emily1987 inso, as some of you will know myself and my husband are in the process of fading.
haven't been to a meeting since beginning of 2017. .
we weren't planning on going to the memorial, but last week my mother broke down and said that we have to go to the memorial even if it's the only meeting i go to this year.
-
pale.emperor
As someone else has already said, turning up to the memorial is taken by the elders (and the rest of the congregation) that you "know it's the truth". Those who no longer go to meetings but turn up to the memorial are called "lukewarm" Witnesses by people in my area. Slandered behind their backs.
I understand you might wish to go to please your mother, if i ever went to another memorial (which i wouldn't) i'd partake. And i'd make it known before hand that im going to. Then maybe mother wouldn't ask me next time.

Transferring Congregations
by optimisticskeptic inwhat is included in the publisher cards and other information when you transfer from one congregation to another?
i was privately reproved and may be moving to a congregation where there are brothers i rather not know why i was privately reproved.
is the fact i was privately reproved visible but not the reason why?
-
pale.emperor
What's included in the letter will be totally at the elders discretion. These guys arnt trained in how to write proper letters like say a HR manager or a teacher. All it would take it one incompetent elder to spill the beans on all your private details.
In short - it depends on the elders you have. Although if i were you I'd state implicitly that you wish them not to disclose the reason for the reproof. If the matter is supposed to be settled with Jehovah then why dig it up? Ask to see the letter before it's sent.
However, whatever it was, count on it that the entire body of elders will know the in's and out's of what you did - as will their wives, likely their kids and certainly the elders wives friends. I'm speaking from experience as a former elders son in law. We knew the details about Judicial Committee's, reproves, spiritual estimations of congregation members.
