Meeting Days Felt Different?
by pale.emperor ini dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when i was a jw meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them.
on thursdays i knew i would be going to the meeting that evening.
that i would be getting into my meeting clothes at 6:30pm, leaving the house at 6:55pm and be sat in the kingdom hall from 7:15pm-9pm, then milling around for about half an hour before finally getting home for 10pm.

As a kid I actually enjoyed the Revelation book because i'd spend the entire meeting flicking through the psychedelic pictures.

I dont know if it was the same for you, but for me when I was a JW meeting days seemed to have a black cloud hanging over them. Evening gone. Wasted. Nothing new or excited was learned that evening and it was totally boring.
And that was just Thursday!
Sunday was the same deal, except it was in the morning so you didn't get a lie-in. Plus you may have had an hour ministry after the meeting so you wouldn't get home until about 3pm. Morning and most of your afternoon gone, wasted.
Now, I only just realized that it's Thursday. The day doesn't invoke a bad feeling inside me. One of dread.
And remember when we used to have the book study too? (in my case, it was on Tuesdays). How did we function?! 4 days out of our 7 being hijacked by theocratic stuff when we should have been enjoying our lives.

What Is The Most Ridiculous Thing You Have Heard From A Witness?
by minimus ini remember an elder questioning a woman who had admitted to giving and receiving oral sex from her unbelieving mate.
he asked her the most intimate questions which clearly flustered her.
interestingly, she “confessed “ to the elders because her conscience bothered her.

This is the best imperfect organization.
We've never made false predictions, we've just erred in our understanding of predictions.

How is life better?
by Freedom rocks ini know this thread has probably been covered in the past but i thought it would be nice for newbies and lurkers and just a reminder to those that left a while ago.. how has your life improved since leaving the cult?
are you happy?
have you made some amazing friends or maybe met an amazing partner in the world?.

I've discovered the real me. I do what i want to do based on concern for others, respect for others and dont judge other people for doing what they want to do (as long as they're not harming anybody).
I have a mixed bag of friends with different options and yet... we all get on perfectly well.
I've met some great people and had some book worthy life experiences in just two years which i would never have had while still a JW.
My life is less complicated, less stressful and i can honestly say that im happy.

Remark at memorial about growing annointed numbers
by Gorbatchov indon’t know if it was part of the script.. at the memorial the remark about growing annointed numbers including this numbers from 2015 to 2017 was made (from 13.000 to 18.000+).. reason for the growing numbers could be:.
- feeling annointed because of former believe.
- psychical reasons.

"Memorial partakers. This is the number of baptized individuals who partake of the emblems at the Memorial worldwide. Does this total represent the number of anointed ones on earth? Not necessarily. A number of factors — including past religious beliefs or even mental or emotional imbalance — might cause some to assume mistakenly that they have the heavenly calling. We thus have no way of knowing the exact number of anointed ones on earth; nor do we need to know." Watchtower 2011 Aug 15 p.22
Well i think they're right, there's definitely 8 men in Warwick that are mental or emotionally imbalanced.

F**k me, you and your daughter must really love them. I would be livid. What a horrible, micro-managing cult. It's not even at a KH and the elders still have to take full control. Where's the love of neighbor here?

Time Gained by Leaving JW World
by Farmer Jim1 indoes anyone else wonder at the amount of time a person immediately gains when they leave the jws?.
just today, a sunday, i would have woken up at 7, frantically taken a highlighter pen to my wt to make it look like i had made a deep study of it.
packed my stuff for meeting and ministry, cycled to the kh, joined the pre meeting ministry arrangement, rushed back for the meeting, sat through a sometimes interesting public talk, sometimes mind-numbingly dull one, strained through a wt study to which i usually had more questions than answers.

.i’m sorry i know you are all going through a lot today because of this celebration but i don’t know anyone else to ask
No need to apologise, were not going through a lot, we actually enjoy talking about it with each other now that we're out of it.
As a previous poster has said, you were excluded because he doesn't want to have to bring you up. Also, he'd likely be embarrassed you being around because JW family's look down on non JWs. Sometimes in a married couple one will join the religion and JWs won't look at the non-JW with the same respect. The non-JW is only viewed as a potential convert at best.
If he's acting this way now it's a very bad sign. He's obviously still got some remnants of the cult brainwashing going on in his mind. His family will be using passive aggression to lure back to the cult and, as a result, away from you.
In situations like this their literature portrays YOU as the problem and him as the "good JW returning to "the truth".
