You stop contributing to the "WorldWide Work" first, then stop contributing any money at all.
Im glad that I never contributed a penny in all my time as a JW. It cost me £80 a month in taxis and buses to get there in the first place
you start listening to music deemed "unsuitable for christians".
you pretend to knock on the doors.
you explain a jw teaching to someone and realize how ridiculous it sounds.

Any more?
i actually had a neighbor ask me that the other day (she knows i'm an "ex" jw) and i didn't really know the answer.
i know there's a bit of cart witnessing going on (small town) and a lot of driving around to return visits.. but are they actually doing territory, not-at-homes, all of that?
the neighbor said that eight years ago, when she bought her house, the jws were by "all the time".
I've not had them knock at mine since I left 2 years ago. I've not seen them in passing either. It seems to be all carts.
Had to laugh to myself seeing their new simple magazine offers. It looks like a children's free insert the kind you'd clip from a newspaper and hand to your kid on long journeys.
made the mistake of opening the front door today...i was expecting someone to service our central heating...oh dear, it was a sister instead :(.
she tells me jehovah misses me.
it seems god only sees me if i go to the meetings.
Jehovah's misses you. You must have one hell of a personality, and a schedule so busy that even the creator of the universe cant get a look in.
I doubt very much he'd miss me. Not after all that black pudding I've been eating.
i am thinking that this could be an interesting topic.
most of us never had a chance to go to college, many of us were involved in various service industries like cleaning and such, and we have had some limitations placed on us.
so i thought it might be interested to see what has worked for people, what hasn't, what the progression has been, where people went wrong and where they got it right.
I would love to work for myself. Trouble is, i dont have any idea what I'd actually do. Also, the thought of cutting free from 9-5 employment and going out on my own feels very risky to me.
Although, if i did work for myself it'd solve a lot of issues im having at the moment juggling school dropoffs/collections and work.
hey, i would like to share my experience, it is kind of long but i really appreciate whoever reads.
last year i was a devout pioneer sister.
well, i am naturally an imperfect 20 year old women.
Hmm... it almost sounds like a cult doesn't it?
Following you around? Taking photographic evidence to convict you? Elders in a backroom confronting a young woman?
Have a think. Which person in the picture below is imitating Jesus?

oh, deary me........this is quite a sad story.. make of it what you will..
why would the dubs call in a gang of 5
i think it's most likely that 2 called on the door and the rest came to intervene when the fatty went nuts on them.
It was rare that we seen angry or violent people when witnessing but it's bound to happen from time to time. I do feel for them here.
ok guys and gals.. let's have them.
as horrible as this may be i really want to see a few examples.
all my life i was taught that apostates just spread lies and falsehoods.. yet since i have left the organisation and looked deeply into apostate articles.
I used to hear that "JWs have a secret Satanic black mass ritual" which I later discovered they meant the memorial. To evangelical Christians I suppose they could misinterpret them passing the emblems and not partaking as "rejecting" the body and blood of Christ.
It's a bit far to call it a black mass tho.
i am just 17. many of you here are much older than me.. i do feel that offering advice here is like teaching my father how to fuck.
but seriously, i do see the problem here.
we are focusing more on the problem than the solution.. i have been reading mind power books for quite some time.
Damn, i wish i woke up at 17.
jws often point to this, to show outsiders they are allowed to read the bible on their own without the publications.
although, as we know, the org still teaches that you will never progress along the road to life without the pubs.
and, i would imagine that what they learn/conclude from their own bible reading, must remain within the confines of current wt teaching, even on the most minute points of doctrine.
I used to read the bible daily without the Watchtower to hand. I remember that i could not for the life of me read Paul's epistles and come to the conclusion that all Christians weren't going to heaven. I had to constantly dig out Watchtowers and WT books to convince me that he was talking only to a select group in those letters.
