The only thing I still dont do is eat black pudding.
But that's because I tried it and didn't like the taste... so now I have my own personal reason for not eating blood.
(It tastes like pennies, dont you think?)
since leaving the jw's after over 4 decades, i can see exactly what it is and hate everything it stands for.
however, there are still some jw habits and traits that i can't get rid of:.
1. i can't swear in general conversation (i'd have to be really angry).
The only thing I still dont do is eat black pudding.
But that's because I tried it and didn't like the taste... so now I have my own personal reason for not eating blood.

was on the bus today and got into a discussion somehow with the driver and ok be ood his work colleagues about whether there's life in other planets, evolution and creation.
the driver believes there must be other life out there, i agree with him that life can't be unique to this planet out of the billions that exist.
his colleague who i think might be a jw by his attitude and reasoning skills thinks we're the only planet with life on it and it was made perfect and exact purposely for humans.
Cofty's assumptions lead him to believe that he is related to an oak tree. If he wants to believe this, that's his right to do so. But, its not science. It's assumption....it is his religion.
No, Cofty and oak trees share a common ancestor. This ancestor is neither human nor is it a tree, it's something we and the tree descended from.
When it comes to evolution belief is optional, participation is not.

so my born-in cousin who recently left the org is looking to start an ex-jw / group instagram based in socal.
he asked me if i had any ideas for a photo that can used for the instagram page and this is what i made for him:.

salvation : "heaven, hell and the afterlife.
"the jehovah's witnesses believe only 144,000 will make it to heaven, they dismiss the concept of a literal hell, and do not believe in the afterlife.
in this new video, i explain from the scriptures who go to heaven, who go to hell and is the afterlife proven in the bible?
To seriously believe in hell you'd need to have a mind so open that your brain is at risk of falling out.
Think about it:
When we feel pain, the nerve endings send a message to our brain. Our brain read this message, recognize it as a warning to take action and we feel pain. If you're dead, your nerve endings (and brain) are switched off. Therefore the inability to feel pain.
If you're in "hell" you would need a physical body. A body that is alive and able to feel pain. Therefore as soon as the nerve endings have burned away you'd feel nothing.
And anyway, what about masochists? They love pain. Hell would be their idea of heaven.
And what about hell... is there carbon and oxygen in hell? Is hell subject to gravity and other laws of physics?
one of the recent threads on the talk about the hailstone message got me to thinking.
the problem with putting out a message like that is what to do when nothing happens.
i have to think that somebody will be asking that question.
“It’s just like Jonah, Jehovah changed his mind about destroying the world.”
That's actually a good point, I never thought of that, Jeff.
I think it'd be a perfect time for when the bumbling body want to call it a day and disappear. Just put the hailstone message out and do a runner. By the time people figure out whats happened someone will take over, call the previous bumbling body "apostates", pin all the failed prophecies on the old body and start anew.
Jehovah's Real Witnesses... something like that.
if you want to believe that jehovah’s witnesses have the truth, that’s your right.
if you want to believe in global warming being the most horrific thing we have to face, that’s your right.
have you been adversely affected by political stands and beliefs?
Only via social media. There's an exJW who i made friends with who's turned out to be a huge Trump supporter and has started re-posting/sharing ridiculous claims and global warming "myths" videos.
Other than that he's a nice guy so i've just unfollowed him.
